The only thing I bought in July was the waterproof overtrousers I declared a few weeks back.
Had a good dig through my wardrobe (was actually looking for something to wear to a job interview), and managed to find a dress that should do for the wedding at the end of this month - so panic over whether I may need an unplanned spend is finished
Now, can I get to year end without spending anything else on clothes or footwear :think:Cheryl0 -
Just doing a quick catch up on your posts. Well done to you if you have managed no spends and to the rest of us, well I'm sure we are all spending far less on clothes than we used to.somerandom wrote: »Haven't been about and up until last week hadn't spent anything on clothes. I've been in "Frugal Dougal" mode as I have handed in my notice to work and will be self-employed from October.
My budget is nothing but a fond memory.
Somerandom Congrats on becoming self-employed, wishing you all the best. You did make me smile with your comment about your budget being a fond memory. I'm in danger if joining you on that as I've had a little spend too.
My Mum is back in hospital again and they have closed her bed at the care home, so don't know where she will be when she is discharged. All very stressful. I think that's why I had a bit of an Ebay spend to be honest.
I bought a lovely purple maxi dress by Phase Eight, brand new for £13, a new White Stuff dress for Autumn - soft red and brown with trees and foxes (not as garish as I am making it sound :rotfl:) for £15 and a new White Stuff blue, grey and white top for work for £13 so need to take £41 out of my budget (waves goodbye to budget
Still, it did cheer me up thinking of when I will have more time and be able to get dressed up a bit.Crazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000 -
Update for July
Finally a nil spend month! I needed to replace my shorts as I've lost a stone and a half. However, I got £170 worth of M & S vouchers from Nat West Your Points scheme - so they were effectively free!
So I'm on £250 out of £150 budget.
Thanks soooooo much fedupandskint for running this thread :T:TTurn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.0 -
Could I join in please? I'd like to budget £250 for the rest of the year. That's for one adult and two children.0

Welcome Monkeychops16.
Today I made a rare visit into town so went in a few charity shops. I got 3 skirts, one pair of chino-style trousers, 2 pairs of shorts (but only now like one pair) and a top for £12.47.
Will update siggy now.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hi all, I'd love to join in too! If I stick to the budget I've assigned myself each month then I have £100 for the rest of the year.
I'm trying to lose weight and hope to be a different clothes size by the end of the year but I have lots of things that will fit even when I'm smaller and I also have bits and pieces in smaller sizes from before I put on weight so I should be okay.
Plus there's always the charity shops!0 -
So many posts to catch up on
kerri The spanx leggings have arrived and they are really nice and do the job really well. They are thick and long enough as well. I got them from a TV shopping channel Q*C they were the special value item and my friend phoned me and told me (So I blame her) for my spends.I have just checked the price and they are back up to over £80 with postage. But I would not pay that for them in a million years.
The personal shopper was in Deb**hams but I didnt like anything in the store at all :rotfl:I did enjoy the free coffee and scones and just kept saying no its not for meI thought it was poor quality poor fit or just something I would never wear.Think she was really happy when I left
Rowan moon so sorry to hear about the stressful time you are having with your Mum. Hope the situation gets better soon.Glad you are happy with your bargains and they do sound lovely and I am sure they look stunning on.
I am also sorry to say my budget is also a thing of the past as when I left the personal shopper I was let loose in all the nice shops I do not normally venture in
So in the Lev*s store I spent £80 on 2 pairs of half price jeans
In HOF I spent about £150 on some winter knitted dresses and a couple of jumpers all on sale but all added up
Came home and had a splurge on e*ay and got a couple of maxi dresses both stunning 1 at £8 posted and 1 at £9 posted. So such bargains:o
Also another 2 pairs of leggings which were £25 for 2 pairs
and I am sure I got some other items which when I remember I will confess
Oh and a pair of Brown leather Wr*ngler knee high boots for £5 at a bootsale (new)
So yes I cracked and will now go and sit on the naughty step !
So over budget but I am now going to try not to spend anymore !!!!
Somerandom congratations on your new life of SE and you are not on your own now both our budgets are a fond memory !
Mav x;)

Mavvy you're back :j
Better shuffle along on the naughty step and make way for me.
We went pootling around Bakewell on Saturday in a much needed day off. Bought a phase Eight linen cardi in brown with lovely shell like beads in cs for £7. I don't normally go for brown but had some nice knee length brown fit flop boots for Xmas last year, so thought the boots and cardi would go well perhaps with red or turquoise to lift the brown a bit. Then went into a different cs and saw exactly the same cardi but in a purpleish blue colour for £3.99 so had that one too. Ate a veggie pasty sitting by the river and had a cherry Bakewell flavour ice cream while watching the world go by.
Welcome to our new money saving/ bargain hunting goddesses :wave:Crazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000 -
Rowan moon I didnt think I should be posting when I had blown my budget
But then thought hopefully I can keep my spending in check now as I REALLY DONT NEED ANYTHING ELSE
I love Bakewell and am thinking about you sitting by the river eating icecream and watching the world go by. How lovely for you both just to get away from the stress for a short while:) Glad you both had a lovely time.
The Phase eight items sound lovely and its strange when you find 2 items the same on the same day in different colours. It has happened to me a few times. Once I was wearing my fav Orange top (you know me I love a bit of Orange) and in a chazzer was the same top in a lovely Peacock Blue which I snapped up for £2.95 and wear all the time when I am not wearing the Orange one:rotfl:
I am sure I wont have to shove up on the naughty step and you will do just fine and hopefully stay off it
So yes I will carry on posting with the ups and downs of this challenge and hopefully it will keep me on some sort of track
