Started the big clothes clear out - took 2 bags to charity, 2 bags for my friends to rummage through on Sunday and about 12 things to put on Ebay.
Actually seeing all those piles of clothes and shoes made me feel a bit sick. There must have been £££'s worth of stuff, some of it not even worn much. From now on I want to choose quality over quantity.
Onwards and upwards
I'm with you there! But having said that, there is still the coat that I had to have some years ago as my treat to myself for a special event, which came in at just under £300 (now those were the days!) BUT which remains unworn (and unseen, even, as it hangs there in the wardrobe in its full length black zipped cover. ) And the dress, bought on the same day, ditto. Though that was less than £100. I hang my head in shame!!
The Bay of E, maybe. Or maybe not. That is the question...
Still resolutely no spend yet this year. So it seems I am stronger-willed these days. Although I am guilty this week of inflating the price of a Radley bag on the bay, by putting in a bid that was instantly outbid. Which brings me nicely to my big question. Are handbags in the clothes budget?????“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

I have opted to include handbags & shoes in my budget. I have so many and don't need any more.
Do you tend to buy lots of handbags? Do you actually need a new one? Have you "shopped" your current handbag collection? I.e re-discovered a previously neglected bag.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task

I had one or two things like that as well. The Ted Baker black dress that was worn a couple of times and doesn't now fit me. At least my daughter has claimed that.
I'm looking at things in my wardrobe and thinking 'is this something I would buy today?' If not, out it goes.Crazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000 -

I'm looking At whole capsule wardrobe thing - I remember it from the 80's and it seems to be backIt does seem to be a way to reduce the amount of accessories needed. Anyone have any experience of it?

I've now broken into my budget for the year. Bought two tops, one at 10.99 and one for the bargainacious price of 8.00! Even better, it is a drapey shape that can be worn two very different ways. Am well pleased. I've also bought a whole stash of socks, for 35.00. Sounds a lot but I go through multiple pairs a day and I haven't replaced any for ages so I have a lot that are pretty threadbare and only fit for the bin!
I've also bought another top, gym pants and a couple of costume jewellery bits but I'm undecided about all of them and they'll probably go back, so won't include them just yet.
Budget now down to $981.01.0 -

Me TooLike everyone else I have no idea where to start and I also know I am surrounded with clothes shoes bags that I don't really love. But I do keep putting them back in the wardrobe thinking I might wear that one day ! That day never comes sadly.
I really need to get my backside in gear and clear this stuff out !
I was having a look though my jeans (all 19 pairs:eek:) There was 3 pairs I don't even remember ever owning  How the hell has that happened
Good luck on the key piece :rotfl:idea think I am a long way from that yet !

Someone will be along soon who has more knowledge than us and will hopefully help us get our backsides into gear.
I admit to having moments of ruthlessness where thing that don't get worn or used get tossed. Other days, things get put back in the wardrobe with me convinced that 'I will wear that one day' Grrr. Frustrated with my thinking at the moment.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task

Got to go clothes shopping yesterday and not spend a penny of my own money, it was glorious! My friend is starting as the manager of an italian restaurant and needs new workwear so we got her about 7 shirts/blouses, cardigans, and a gorgeous little blazer jacket. It was so fun!0

Morning campers!
Need to add another £10 spend to my list as purchased a new bikini for hols. So £77 for the month.
Not great but no where near what I used to spend.
Had a fab birthday and thanks for all the birthday wishes.
Pay day next week for ME where my total resets.
Only need new underwear for hols and will get that from primark.
Hope everyone is doing well and either spending less or selling more to make up for spending!
I've had a good sales month with old bits n bobs so not worried I've gone over budget.
The face book selling pages are the way forward! I hardly list on ebay now!
Thanks for the support and stories - sarah xxFinally debt free and loving it!0
