  • Apart from a minor mis-hap on eBay last night, I would like to get through Feb without buying another item of clothing. I would also like to list 20 items in eBay. Well done to everyone who managed a no spend January, you have spurred me on. Determined to stay in budget for the year and reduce the amount if stuff I own. This challenge is making me think about personal style in a new way. There is a theme emerging, I am not so :thrown: together. That's gotta be a good thing right?

  • Hi everyone,

Been reading about all your purchases or not :A
Update as I bought some stuff a couple of weeks ago
£4 body warmer from a charity shop
£18 on a cardigan and long sleeved tee from H and M

    Total for January £47/360

Must try harder in February. Still not too bad as I'm going on holiday this month and I have not gone rushing out for a whole new holiday wardrobe:rotfl:
All my clothes are from previous holidays, can't wait now.

I have been following pinksofoxy on youtube- she takes clothes tidying to a whole new level :D

I actually think I need to be good and set myself a clothing budget. So far I've just been following this thread but not committing myself!

So here we go. £300 in 2015!

I can track clothing spends through Money Dashboard. So far:

£147/£300 so far, so I really need to reign it in and make it last!
  • Hi all, is it ok for me to join in with this? I've been reading your posts and am inspired.
I'm giving myself a good talking to because I started to clear out my wardrobe and decided to only buy things I need/love. Then found myself on ebay buying things because they are a 'bargain'. Honestly, how many white stuff tops and jeans does a woman need?

So that's it, enough. I'm setting myself a budget of £150 for the year. If I feel tempted perhaps someone will put me on the naughty step for a while :)

Pleased with myself as I went to town yesterday did all my favourite charity shops and kept telling myself ' Do you need it ? Do you love it ? Have you got one similar ? The answer I gave myself was No No Yes :D So walked away buying nothing for me at all  Did buy my DH some ties as he has an interview for a contract on Friday in Sheffield (near and handy being we live in Norfolk :rotfl:) Everytime he needs to wear a tie he cant find one  Drives me insane so got 6 really nice silk ties all really good makes for £3 :D So he should be able to find 1 next time he needs to :D

No way is it coming out of my budget !

I have managed to shift a few items on eBay, and will be listing 20 more this month. No more slacking, I WILL do better in February.

    Evening

I got caught by a jumper and some boots form the M&S sale. They were £25.

I will be putting the boots on eBay as they are too high for me, but I will be wearing the jumper tomorrow as it doesn't need ironing!!

I will update my sig now.

  • I'm off to a good start. Went shopping yesterday, looked in the charity shops but didn't buy anything. Walked past the shops with big sale signs (that was hard).
Started the big clothes clear out - took 2 bags to charity, 2 bags for my friends to rummage through on Sunday and about 12 things to put on Ebay.

Actually seeing all those piles of clothes and shoes made me feel a bit sick. There must have been £££'s worth of stuff, some of it not even worn much. From now on I want to choose quality over quantity.

    Onwards and upwards :)
