Still on track and no spends so far, had a wobble in a local dress shop that was closing down and selling everything for £5 but managed to persuade myself that I didn't need anything;)
  • Another weekend gone and no more money spent on clothes
Did spend £30 on Christmas clearance decorations in bms though lol
Finally debt free and loving it!
  • Hi All - In the last week I've become slightly obsessed with decluttering using the Marie Kondo method - (there's a MSE thread about it). In her book she suggests that you decide what to keep and what to discard by asking yourself the question "does this spark joy?". Not only have I been getting rid of loads of stuff I've been asking myself that question when I'm thinking of buying things (especially in Charity Shops). Net result - I haven't bought anything in Charity Shops for over a week and I've been in them dropping things off frequently. Between this and the Marie Kondo thread I am a changed woman !

Thought I would pop in and catch up.Everyone is doing well and we are nearly at the end of the first month  Its gone so quick !
I am getting right into this and its helping me so much. Ok I have spent a bit this month but nothing compared to what I would have spent before.
I have saved so much money this month as I am not tempted to even go anywhere. I think shall I go to town today and then think what the hell for I DONT need anything :D
I have had cash in my purse all month and I have hardly touched it.
So only 11 months to go being the new me :D
I am loving it and feeling much more in control of myself.
    Good luck to everyone

  • Evening all, glad to read the successes that you have been having. I have had a couple of purchases from CS, and sold a few items on eBay. I think my total for the month is £17. I shall do my totals at the weekend. I managed to list 20 items on eBay, busy photographing 20 for next month. I hope to find a table top sale and offer stuff for £5. Every little helps.
    Good night

The year hasn't started too well on the shopping front here :o I've spent more this month than I did in the whole of last year

    Undies were a must - M&S but used a £5 voucher from donating M&S items to Oxf@m. £38 spent.

Pair of work shoes - £9 from the local factory outlet shop - pleased with those, though not sure how long they'll last not being leather.

Two tops in Sbugs - bad me as they were full price, but used Christmas money so though I didn't spend my money technically, I'll still include it as good to track what I've bought. £16

So declaring a £63 spend for January. :)
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18

Another £10 spent on 2 new sports bras. Reduced from £33 each
I have one of these already and They are the only ones that I feel give me the support:o I need.
So have binned all the others that 'might be ok at some point ' So now have 3 which means I don't have to wash ,the one, every flipping day :D

So a spend but a thought out bargain spend !

  • Hey all!
Still on £67 spend for the month but did make £65 so only a £2 spend really! Ha ha

Off topic but the money I have saved not spending I have used towards paying off my overdraft! I could do cartwheels I am so proud!

I do have lots up for sale including shoes and a few odds n ends so hoping to make a few more £££££.

On the plus it's my birthday tomorrow (36) and I'm out with friends Saturday so really looking forward to that!

And yes I have a new outfit including bag, shoes and jewellery :-)

Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weekend

    Sarah xx

  • Happy Birthday for tomorrow Sarah :-)

Still no clothes spends for me ! If I manage to go another 2 days without giving into temptation I would have kept to budget for the month.
