I'm still managing to stay away from clothes shops after my earlier splurge in the sales. I find it easier to just not go into them and then I'm big tempted. I sometimes think its a boredom thing with me. I end up popping in and spending!

Well done that deserves a big pat on the back :D

Well I have £20 to add to my spends as I did a bit of a deal on FB and got 5 N*ke running tops and a really nice padded N*ke coat which I will wear to the gym as its so cold :D Did I really really need them no but I will wear them and they were an absolute steal and I just couldn't say no :o

So I will creep back out and start sorting clothes out to sell :)

  • Evening all, how are we all? Friday has finally arrived.
I have been laid up for most of the week with a wretched cold - or Man-Flu as I have insisted on calling it.
I have just done a quick tot up and update my signature. I have had a few items leave the house and go to ebay. I have bought a handful of things, taken the totally unsuitable shoes back and arrived at the figure of £3.25 spent. I couldnt be happier. I need to factor in the paypal and sellers fees at the end of the month (so some fluctuation). However, I am doing much better than I ever have before.
I am going to the posh charity shops tomorrow, so expect a bit of a spend. All in all, I am enjoying this challenge.
Keep up the good work all, enjoy the rest of your evening.

Wow! I am so impressed with everyone who are managing to stay neutral or very close to it. I have never bought or sold on eBay. My brother is a whizz on it and sometimes I give him somethings to sell - but he always keeps the money and uses it to help fund my niece and nephew's hobbies. I have spotted a new shop in the high street - it sells secondhand clothes but it is not a charity shop. I'm going to check it out to see if it is a vintage shop or if it sells second hand clothes etc for you.
This month seems particularly long re. Trying not to spend on clothes. Having to exert some real self control - tomorrow will be another test as I am having to pop into Bluewater to pick up a book.

We had one of those open a few years back, unfortunately it just turned into a bit of a jumble sale, they had too much stock, not enough buyers and it wasn't very well laid out (it was actually in a spa that was struggling and then closed). Such a shame, Prob would've worked if done differently.

Spent the last of my Christmas money from my Dad. Bought a pair of short boots. Went into J the boot makers and spotted a pair of boots for 1/2 price. They didn't have them in my size. Ask them to find another pair similar but in my size. Pair they brought out - only 10% off. Tried to get them to reduce them further but they said that they could not as they were not faded or damaged/ marked in any way. I left them behind. Went and got a couple of other bits and then cracked. I have spent nearly 5 months trying to find a pair of boots that fit nicely. And they ticked all the boxes. Tried to haggle again bit no luck. So paid 90% of the full price. Annoyingly they gave me a voucher to use before end of Feb - 15% off a full price pair of shoes or boots.
Paid for with Christmas money so still no spend.
Went into WS and saw a lovely skirt and a couple of lovely blouses - but didn't crack. Hobbs also had a beautiful dress but there is no way that I would pay £170 for it!!! Where's the outlet store. Last year got a £130 skirt for £29.
