I have a different budget in my spreadsheet for footwear, but have included them in my budget for this challenge.

Mavvymoo - that's an amazing profit that you made on the skirt - well done. I'm not making much profit selling clothes on eBay. Any tips?

The zip broke on my 6 month old Kipling rucksack today. Amazon didn't have a replacement so they gave me a refund. I don't actually need a new rucksack so I will do my best to stay strong and not go searching for another just because I loved it - if, in a few weeks. I'm still missing it I will rethink.

  • Wah! My jacket order got cancelled as they're out of stock. So I'm back up to my full $1000 budget again.

    Very disappointed. :(
  • Totally off topic but the boots sale this year is rubbish! I haven't spent a single penny on gifts sets I don't need ha ha x x

I was in a store yesterday (optician appointment which resulted in a new presciption after just 7 months - and I'd thought 12-15 months was a poor show!!), and wandered around the sale section as I had time to kill before my appt.

Only one thing caught my eye, but I didn't need it/wasn't prepared to pay even what they were asking in the sale - and this morning I can't remember what it was, so it was clearly best left on the shelf :D

They have a couple of gift sets for my favourite (expensive) perfume in the sale, but only at a third off so I'm still struggling to justify the cost (even though I could completely pay with points). Does anyone know what the chances are of them reducing the price again if they're still not selling?

  • There wasn't much online by the time I looked. Which is probably a good thing as I would have spent money which is something I am trying to avoid! Xx

  • Serendipitious thank you - I used our town's shopping centre's personal shopper, so it was a really easy and pain free way to shop! I would have given up after about half an hour if I went on my own ....

Everyone is doing very well so far with this challenge. When I get chance I'll update the front page with all your names and targets - might be in a week or two's time though!

Great to see so many people joining in too!

Good luck everyone and great to see so much discussion about this and how we choose to spend or not spend too.

As for me, I used my gift vouchers from surveys to buy a new bikini for holiday in the summer, Christmas jumper for next Christmas, a new jumper as I've worn all mine so many time now all reduced by 60% saving £43 in total and spending £31.50 on gift cards.

All going well so far....keep at it everyone and remember - we have 11.5 months to go! Having said that, it will go quickly as it always does!

Hi To be honest don't think its just you making poor profits seems E*ay is a bit of a buyers market at the moment.
I knew the skirt would sell well as it was Hobbs (which always sells well for me) and it was a wintery classic (which always sells well) and also I find larger sizes seem to sell better ( skirt was a 16)
Good photos and every measurement you can think of :rotfl:

I find that if I go for quality in the listing rather than quantity you will always make better money.I cant be bothered to list and make a £ or 2 it seems like a waste of time and energy.

    Good luck Mav x
    Good luck

Debt free and Mortgage free thank you to all for your encouragement and advice
