Seems like there's a few runners on here atm, I did a 5k obstacle course last year (really enjoyed it and got a good time, would've been better had there not been queues at some of the obstacles :mad). Running a bit again now after xmas, 3miles today so getting better.

    Hi Kerri gt
Yes there does seem to be a few runners around at the moment which is great and not bad for fitting into clothes which have become a bit snug !
I have never done an obstacle course sounds like fun and well done on doing it. Thats the trouble with the events too many people at different levels.
I find running helps me mentally and I can challenge myself if I want too. I will never be fast but I am a stayer and can just keep going and often surprise myself :D

  • I have made my first clothes purchase of the year - a new winter jacket. However, technically it was mostly a present, as OH bought me a jacket at Christmas that didn't suit me and was returned. So my new purchase is $85 out of my $1000 budget.
  • Evening all, I spent a whole £1 on a cashmere skirt in the half price sale in a cs. It didn't quite fit, so has made its way onto eBay along with 9 other items. If I want anything over and above my £15 a month clothing allowance, things have got to be sold to pay for it.
I would also like to boost my paypal balance as I have ordered some new drum paraphernalia. Maybe I need to set a budget for that too lol.
Enjoy the rest of your evening

  • Woooohoooo my first item just sold - a pair of shoes that I bought for £60 in 09. They crippled me, so were only worn a handful of times. They have been under the bed for 6 years! I am a happy bunny

  • New shoes bought for the small child. She's gone from an 8 to a 10 at some point...New boots purchased from Clarks before new year were taken back at her insisting (too tight allegedly) and replaced with some very cute sainsbobs numbers. At £7.50 vs £25 for the clarks I should really be in credit...
also a pair of gold glittery pumps purchased for her as a girl needs a good pair of sparkly shoes in her life!

Well I went for my 'big shop' to buy work clothes (will be working in a very upmarket place, and I have been at home in my skinny jeans for ages, so no suitable clothes at all!). I spent £255 - all sale prices, I got two pairs of trousers, two skirts, and five tops, which would have been over £500 full price, so I am pleased. Everything mixes and matches, so I should be set for a while now. Might have to get a few spring/summer things later in the year, and possibly shoes. At least I will be earning .... !

Congratulations on the new job! Hope it is fun and you enjoy it. Am impressed by your work wardrobe and the efficiency of getting it all in one go. :)

Pixtotts, today I dug out a vintage Talbots colour-block (grey/cream/black) zipped cardigan from the back of my wardrobe. Its alpaca and merino and is toasty warm on top of a black l/sleeve vest. Looks good too. Not worn it in in last two years, used to keep it for special daywear but I think we deserve to wear good stuff everyday. As someone used to say 'you can only wear one outfit at a time, so it might as well be the best.'

i'm having a goldilocks moment with running tights, too tight, too loose, might give - argh. I swear they'll fit a revolving door for me at the shop soon.
I am not a great runner but ok, the 5k pushed my running a bit but the obstacles were a nice break. I run with a friend who is really good at motivating me. I was always an 'ok' runner at school but we had national / county/ regional people in every sport so if you weren't one of those to make a name for the school you were largely ignored even if you were above average.

Well good news :D My boots arrived they are so lovely and fit like a glove :) Very different just how I like it.
The other news is the £3 skirt just made £48 on E*ay:eek::eek: So about £39 profit after fees knew it was a good buy and was proved right.
So £39 to come off my boots so all good.

I get you with the tights nothing worse than feeling they don't fit right.
I always wear Ronhill not the cheapest by a long way but are so comfy and last for ever.
Keep on with the running and lucky you for having a friend to motivate you (All my friends hate exercise of any description)

Good luck to all and keep those eyes firmly shut while in any kind of clothes shops/ online sales !

Off into the City tomorrow to try and get some comfy shoes, got a holiday with lots of walking coming up so am after some shoes that are comfy and stylish! Tried on a lovely pair today in a local shop which I may end up getting if I can't find anything I like better. They will also double up as work shoes as mine are falling apart!!

Hmmm, actually ended up buying two pairs of shoes, one pair for the walking on holiday which will double up as work shoes and a pair of more casual shoes as I struggle to find shoes in my size so it's usually s case of get them when I see them.

Do others include shoes in your clothing budget? I'm a bit loathe to include these as they are both replacing worn out pairs!
