Yes, some of my naughty's went to the foodbank as well as a lot of stuff I dont use from the food cupboard.
This month I will stay on plan as much as I can but will also be using up freezer supplies as I have a 21st prezzie to pay for.

Its my son's 18th this month and my daughter's 21st in the summer plus her graduation!

    Fabulous loss Beanie and Shala.

Well done on a great loss.

Feeling much more in control now, have moved from having normal chocolate to dairy free chocolate, its still more than I should be having but much better for me. I've been having withdrawal symptoms over the last few days (a bit like carb flu) and have felt awful, I did not realise how badly the lactose affected me until I started to cut it out again. This happens everytime I forget the bad bits and tuck in to stuff that is bad for me. The problem is I love, chocolate, cheese, ice-cream and generally creamy things so its really hard as I feel deprived. I did make some very low lactose ice-cream (lactofree cream, soya yogurt & evaporated milk)over Christmas but as it contains lactose free cream its not SW friendly and reserved for special occasions. I'm back to lactose free cheese but there are only two varieties, cheddar or soft (like philadelphia)spread. Dairy/lactose free stuff is ok but doesn't taste the same.

Ballroom dancing starts again tonight so that will cheer me up. It is exactly one year since we started and our little group are going earlier and having a little buffet to celebrate. I'm deliberately keeping syns low during the day to compensate.

Well done all the losers, everyone seems to do being really well. Hoping to lose at least 1.5lb this week in order to get back into target range and don't have to pay!

Think today is looking like an EESP:

B - porridge made with water & little milk from HEA, also sprinkled a bit of sweetner & cinnamon it; bowl of melon
L - ham with stir fry veg
D - cottage pie with added veg and a swede mash top. Will also have some extra green veg, probably peas, green beans & cabbage.

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge
Syns - brown sauce on cottage pie (1); not sure what else yet but will find something else!

    Snacks - melon, satsumas

Does that look OK for EESP? Unfortunately our consult didn't explain EESP very well she just seemed to do the new member talk about EE, so not very helpful!

It's hard work keeping up with this thread!

Congrats to everyone who has posted a loss so far this week :)

On the subject of sandwiches...my really naughty treat at Xmas is adding a pile of bread sauce to my turkey sandwich. Everyone thinks it's weird but I absolutely love it!

I finally watched Dr Christians show last night. Not impressed with it. I really thought it would be very informative but it clearly wasn't. Don't think I'll bother with it in future. We have a show here (Ireland) called Operation Transformation which started back this week and it gives healthy eating plans and exercise plans. I think that's going to be my "diet show" fix for January.

I'm making a real effort to up my protein on EESP as for the first few days I was probably 70% S and 30% P. This is my menu for yesterday and today.
B 2 Weetabix (HEB) with milk (HEA) and a plum (S)
L 3 turkey rashers (P) fried egg (P) 2 grilled tomatoes (S) grilled baby corn (S) wholemeal roll (HEB) spred (1.5 syns)
D Homemade burger using 5% fat mince (P) baked beans (P) lettuce (S) onions (S) peppers (S) and butternut squash(S)
    S Pear (S) yogurt (3.5 syns)

On the subject of syns, its interesting to read mention that some members are being allocated a higher syn allowance depending on weight. I've known male members to be given more syns but other than that I've always known it to be a max of 15 but stick to at least 5 / no more than 10 (allowing the buffer of 5 for misdemeanours.) I've not seen anything in the new books about a higher syn limit nor had anything mentioned by the consultant.

As I've been struggling, I had considered starting myself off with 20 syns a day but have never got round to planning this properly.

I need to make a decision really. Part of me has been seriously considering giving up class for now and doing something off my own back, sort of a combination of slimming world and healthy eating generally but part of me also thinks this would be a mistake. I didn't get anywhere last year with class. But to be fair, if you don't invest in the plan then you are going to get nowt out but one does end up frustrated and you kind of think what's the point.

I hope everyone has a good day xx

I find that going to a class is what helps me - our consultant reads out the losses or gains every week, and I would be mortified if I gained week after week. That little thought of personal humiliation is what keeps me going with the plan.
This thread makes me eat pretty healthily - otherwise I would just stuff my face for 5 days then starve for the two days before weigh-in.
I am interested in what you say about syns. When I started I was simply told to have between 5 and 15 syns a day. I vary, but often come in at the top end, and was going to ask whether I should reduce these as I lost more weight (like weightwatchers points?).

Anyway it can't hurt to try with more syns, then if it isn't working to reduce them. Better that than not do the plan at all, as the plan helps us eat less fat and more veggies.

Just a quick update to say that I've had a sneaky weigh in this morning and have lost 2lb so far - so am obviously on the right track. Got a paella with chicken and prawn in the slow cooker for dinner. I'll let you know how it turns out!

    Have a great day!
