in reality i need to lose 4.5st to be at the weight my old consultant reckoned would be healthy! (:rotfl: id be a bloody skeleton at 9st 9!!). Though id be happy fitting into a size 12 regardless of what i weigh - a nasty patronising, condescending cow of a dr at my local clinic seems to have other ideas though! Less said about her and her size 8 frame the better (considering a younger version of her *at the same practice* told me i was fine

Doctors can be quite pedantic about BMI being 25 or below, but I read a report showing that people were healthier if they had a BMI between 26 and 30. Healthier in the sense that they were more resistant to infectious illnesses and viruses. (And more content IMO.)

Hi tweets just looked up Tesco chilli con carne and there is a 400g can (dont think its value range) and that is 10 syns. There is also Everyday Value chilli con carne sauce 440g jar and that is 12 syns. Compared to Asda's smart price chilli con carne (1syn for 392g) they seem a bit heavy on the syns. Hth

ETA whoops sorry just read maman's post. That'll teach me to read everything before I post but doing that I forget things ;)

That's a huge difference in syns for such similar things - you don't think its a typo and should really be 10?

Hi everyone. Just saying hello. Im a former lurker. Have slowly piled on the pounds due to illness and giving up smoking (2 months now!). Its time for action. Holiday to skiathos booked for late summer and five stone to lose  Not expecting to lose it all by then but a size 14 bikini instead of a 20 would be nice. Anyway, enough from me. I'll be doing EE plan from Monday. Thanks for reading.
    Bye for now.

    Karen xx

Welcome Lankielass I just joined this forum today and rejoined SW group tonight so its all go. I would like to lose 4stone. Well done on giving up smoking I gave up about 10 years ago xx

Well done to everyone who has had loses this week. Hopefully I will be putting a couple of lb losses on here.

Going to start with a EESP week so wish me luck :T

Green days are basically low meat/meat free but you can have some meat as a HEB. The bonus is you can have 2 HEAs and 2 HEBs and they don't stipulate veg and fruit but eating what you can is still a good idea. So taking your menu for tomorrow. That could be Green with just about 90g of ham (quantity varies with brand, thickness etc) as one HB, toast as the other. Then you've got one HEA of cheese but can have another if you want. Everything else you've written down is free (except the Curly Wurly;)).

Maman you like my guardian angel keeping me on the straight and narrow! A complete SW genius. Thanks for all the pointers. It really is much appreciated. I stuck to my plan today and i deffo had less that 90g of ham (only 1 slice). I did however have an extra curly wurly (I needed a fix mid-day) but I'm still within my syns.

Well done, I'm really struggling to get myself back there. My intentions are good for the weekend !

I didn't make the gym today lantanna, but my SIL asked if I wanted to go to the shops with her. I suggested walking instead of the car and ended up being out 90 minutes walking and carrying bags. Gotta be better than doing nothing eh?? I'm going to the gym in the morning. Only for 30-45 minutes though. Still recovering from infection.

Anyway..... Welcome to all the newbies, hello to all the lurkers and a huge well done to all the losers!!! :T:T:T

Tomorrow I shall be tested. I'm back to work since for the 1st time this year, where I will be surrounded by fattening food which I'm allowed to eat for free! :o With a small slice of pizza coming in at 10 syn average i MUST keep away from it (because 1 slice is NEVER enough). I must also keep away from the drinks machine and stick to squash throughout my shift. So please, wish me luck!! Not working till tomorrow night so I'm planning on having filling foods before I go and taking my treats with me to keep away from the bad stuff :o

    So tomorrows plan is:

Breakfast: Bacon, beans, toast (heb) and egg
Lunch: Grilled chicken, new potatoes, beetroot, red onion, egg whites and pickled onions!
Dinner: Fish (no batter/breadcrumbs), SW chips and peas

Snacks/Syns: Apples, satsumas, grapes, cheese (hea) and wheat crackers (2@1.5 syns each), curly whurly (6 syns).

That leaves me with enough syns for an emergency snack if needed! :rotfl:

Some amazing losses on here tonight. Good to see all the Christmas excesses rolling away.:T

Only too pleased to help counting pennies. This thread was a godsend when I was getting to target.

I feel quite determined now to really do this, but I've got a houseful of visitors until Sunday, so I might struggle, but will do my best and up the veg intake and water as much as I can, and hope for the best!

Thanks for all the helpful menu ideas, and tips. There's an awful lot of weight pledged to be lost in this challenge, I'll do my best!

Why don't you plan a SW friendly menu for your visitors? or at least enough SW things for you to fill your own plate without resorting to 'bad' stuff?

Glad I took the plunge and started SW (again!). Came home with shiny new books and feeling inspired to start afresh. Very good talk and most of the newbies had vouchers so it was a great deal at £4.95.

The consultant explained that SP is NOT a new plan but an extra tool to use if and when you want to kickstart your weightloss but is only intended for about a week. You can of course, choose to do it for a day or two a week if that fits in with your lifestyle. Do no big deal really. Extra Easy continues as it was.:)

I have given myself a target of 1 stone loss to start with.

Pleased it went well for you pennylane. I think maybe they should have kept SP out of the book and just given it to people who hit a plateau as It's not really balanced or sustainable in the long term IMO.

Ps can I ask how many syns 25g of raisins actually is please?

    That's 4 syns tie.

It's strange fluff, but I'm 5ft 9 too and I was a size 16 (verging on 18) at just short of 14 stone. I'm now at my target weight of 10st 7 which makes me a slim size 12. I suppose it comes down to body shape or bone structure or something. I don't want to go any lower or my face starts to look drawn so to help things along I ate the last 3 Christmas chocolates tonight.;) All the unopened goodies went to the foodbank today.

When i worked in scotland i was around 12st 6ish at my lowest and was an average 12, but i would quite like to hit that again and see whether i want to lose more, my face is the first place that the weight drops, but after that its my natural waist then my hips (i tend to have a small natural waist and bigger hips so the waist:hip ratio calculations make me seem 'normal' even now, which isnt true since my bmi is back to 30 (in fairness apart from when i lost the weight last time, my bmi has been unchanged since i was 16 (and a lot skinnier than i am now, oddly lol!!)
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Fluff, it's good that you loose weight round the middle - that's the 'dangerous' fat that is bad for your health and a small waist is one measurement that seems to go with low risk of heart problems and blood pressure.

Can someone please check my food for today?

B: Porridge, 10g raisins (HEB; HEA; 2 syns)
L: Chicken salad or mushroon omelette with salad. Apple, clementine
D: Glazed pork chops with mustard mash and vegetables (from a SW magazine)

This must be EE I think, but if I removed the mash from the dinner, would it be EESP, or does the porridge mess it up?

I need to make a dessert for the family so I'll have a look in one of the magazines to try and find a SW friendly one.
    Trying to keep in budget.
