This is meg's post about the chilli bean soup.

I'm glad you're giving it another go pennylane. I heard that white jeans are back in fashion this summer!

Thank you maman so its chilli bean soup.

I am shopping at Tesco so presume value chilli con carne will be ok to use in the recipe ? If not I will have to nip Asda another day.

WI this morning for me with a hefty 3.5lb on (not weighed since week before Christmas), but not really unexpected! Obviously didn't rein it in enough this week.

The dauphanoise made with quark was OK but think it could have done with more cooking and probably more quark and stock as it ended up quite dry - but importantly it didn't split and look horrible! Think the cornflour probably stabalises it. Will do it again but will par boil the potatoes for longer next time and make up more sauce.

    Today's EE menu is:

B - box of melon & grapes after WI
L - 1/2 box of sweet chilli sushi, 1/2 box of duck sushi (2 syns); ham salad sandwich spread with LTL mayo instead of spread (0.5 syns)
    D - prawn stirfry

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread

    Snacks: melon; satsumas

    Syns - sushi (2) LTL mayo (0.5)

Having looked at the day's food just wondering whether this is an EESP day?

I just made the name up because meg had added beans and lentils.;)

I can't see a free/low syn Tesco chilli on the website so it might be safer to go to Asda where Smart Price (oh SP?;)) is 1 syn for a can.

Thanks for the feedback on the dauphinoise denise. I always parboil my potatoes first. I hate them not properly cooked.

Don't worry about the gain, it'll come off quickly enough.:)

I'm not sure about the menu. Grapes are now only Free and I don't know whether sushi counts, certainly not if it had rice in it. Whatever, it's a low syn/low carb day and that's good.:D

Someone at group recommended a pulled pork from Tesco today. It's Tesco Simply Heat pork shoulder in barbecue sauce. It's in the frozen section, £3.50 for a 500g pack. She says it was yummy although a bit light on sauce. I know you can make your own but I thought it would make a good standby and much better (and cheaper) than a take away.

Thank you I will go to Asda sometime next week :).

I like that name and have wrote it in my book :D
  • Hi everyone. Just saying hello. Im a former lurker. Have slowly piled on the pounds due to illness and giving up smoking (2 months now!). Its time for action. Holiday to skiathos booked for late summer and five stone to lose  Not expecting to lose it all by then but a size 14 bikini instead of a 20 would be nice. Anyway, enough from me. I'll be doing EE plan from Monday. Thanks for reading.
    Bye for now.

Thanks Maman - I know there's not technically enough speed food for the revamped ee plan but I'm happy to stick with the old version as that's always worked for me :)

There's been some great losses on here over the last few days - well done everyone!
