Hello everyone! I've not received any mails from this group for a whirl and I was thinking you were all very quiet! Then I checked my subscriptions and thus thread had gone!
I'll have to keep an eye on it. Not sure when the weight loss recording/chart started but my club meets Tues morning and this week I list 3 lbs.
now better try and find some time to read all the pages I missed!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!

Forgot to say, I went to the gym today! Managed 20 minute before it felt like my lung was gonna collapse but 20 minutes is better than sitting on my bum eating crisps!

    CP xx

Well done, I'm really struggling to get myself back there. My intentions are good for the weekend !

You cant have yog on SP unless it has a syn value

Soupwise, i buy the baxters mediterrean tomato. You can eat the whole 400g tin as a HEB. Currently in poundstretcher for 59p a tin. Stock up, its over £1 in all other supermarkets

You cant syn foods that are free, so no, as soon as you eat pasta/rice it reverts to an EE day

Evening meals just sub any carbs (spuds/rice/pasta) with speed veg. If i want bulk, i tend to go for root veg/squash, rather than greens

It all makes my head hurt a little bit! Harder for me in winter as we have substantial meals for tea which always include carbs! I suppose I could do carrot and swede mash instead of my usual mash potato and things like that? Also think it would be hard for me to fit in a second HeB as I'm so used now to having either cereal or bread but not both in the same day!

Personally I don't think it should be called Extra Easy SP as it gets rid of one reason a lot of people choose EE (being able to still eat pasta/rice/potato!) they should have kept another name, such as the perfectly good success express, and used that to avoid confusion. But that's just my opinion.

I weighed today and despite all my more negative thoughts I am able to report a 1lb loss!

Now if I can get back on it 100% maybe I will hit my target for the challenge :)

oh and before I forget I've joined a wonderfully useful group on Facebook where the owner/s have uploaded albums and albums of photos of products with their syn values above them. Incredibly useful for those like me who aren't registered wit a group/are going it alone :)

    Morning peeps

Definitely not going to group, I know I should but just can't face it. I'm starting afresh this morning. So for the chart I'll declare a STS please Shala

I didn't like the dr Christian program either, I felt sorry for the woman losing her£100 even though she seemed to have tried her best with the resources she had, while the dr got herself a personal trainer. Dr Christian did advice her to eat more protein. I didnt think the nutritional support was very good.

Better get going, need to make shopping list.

Good luck everyone, now that all the naughties should be out of the house

I just thought it was dull. A real shame because they always used to be of such interest.

Flateric - off topic, I know, but I like your reading challenge for 2015 ( in your sig), is that connected to another thread or something you decided for yourself?

    LL :)

I haven't set up a thread on here but I have an account on Good Reads where I review books when I've finished them. You can follow your friends so see what they are reading etc. Each year they run a reading goal - I've pledged 100 books ....

I've not got off to the best of starts (I had intended for one of my new year's resolutions to read 30 mins a day) but it hasn't happened!!

My first day of trying to be back on plan yesterday went pear shaped. I am trying again today although have made a bit of a mistake because I had 1 slice of bread for my breakfast with my boiled eggs and heated some soup for lunch. I thought I might syn this because I could then have the second slice of bread as the remainder HEB but I've since discovered the soup (400g) is 11.5 syns!!!!!

PS has anyone been filling in the (new) food diary on the sw site??? what do you think?

Blue Eyed Girl - That afternoon tea looked great, pass me the sandwiches and scones! Instead of going for a sticky as your time to take your afternoon tea what about when you get into a certain size of trouser that you would like too??

I watched the Dr Christian programme last night and wasn't impressed. The only thing that really made me pay much attention was his vast range of trench coats!!!!

Weigh in later today, not feeling the love or much hope.

I cannot get off the mashed potato - I swear its psychological with me all this talk of reduced carbs has me stuffing them into my face in epic quantities which I didn't do before.

I'm not really too amused with sw at the minute to be honest. My consultant keeps posting her meals and yesterday for lunch it was literally a big tomato and a couple of slices of ham. Yes you'll shed loads of weight eating like that but how healthy is it and how sustainable. It is also not healthy to put on 10 lbs in a week and a half and then lose 8/9 the following week which see keeps doing. Binges and starves - leaving on speed soup and the like etc. Is it healthy to be cutting out carbs one week and then eating them the next?? I thought we were meant to be following a healthy, well balanced, foods cooked from scratch approach. Not cutting carbs and eating ready meals.

I feel a time is going to come very very soon when I might take myself off and just do my own thing.

I noticed that - he looked like a weird flasher!! I thought it was obviously a fashion trend that had passed me by..

maman - i can only assume that having 1 alpen means 70 calories less in your day and that speeds up your weight loss rapidly ;):rotfl:

Weigh in tonight - i'm hopeful that i'm close-ish to what i weigned before xmas.. dreading the amount of people that are going to be there though, our consultant said she had 70 odd people last monday  hopefully they've all joined that class and not ours :rotfl:

I've never understood why one or two are listed. I thought 2 as a HEB. But what's different about having one? (other than cheating yourself;)).

That used to puzzle me too, and it was explained to me by a consultant: HEB's have to provide a certain amount of fibre for their calorie content, and some foods hit the fibre target sooner, so for example 2 ryvita has enough fibre to qualify, but you can have 4 to satisfy your appetite.

When I have both HEs left at the end of the day I have an HEa of cheese, which is only enough for 2 ryvita so that's all I have.

Welcome back, I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondered if you were lurking or missing the new thread.

Well done for your loss. The latest challenge started on Monday so I'm sure it's not too late to join in, just let Shala know your target. The challenge ends on 1st March, which is 8 weeks.

    Now that's more like it!

All this talk of beetroot in sandwiches is really turning my stomach. I like it with a salad, but the idea of it between 2 slices of bread just doesn't do it for me. (DH likes it and I can't even bear to see him eat them.)

    Have a good day.
