  • Never ending curry finally ended last night, so new food planned for the rest of the week. Porridge worked out well yesterday, so sticking with that for now.

    b: 2xoatsosimple, cinnamon, apple, milk (heb,hea,3 syns)
l: jacket potato w/tuna mayo and salad (5 syns I guess for the mayo)
    d: ham omelette w/salad

Hadn't heard about extra syns for bigger people, I guess I'll be needing them today! Tbh, if you are sticking to mostly syn free meals then you don't need more than 15 in a day. Allowing 25 syns a day is far too generous imho, I can't see why you'd need them and you're allowing too much leeway for alcohol, sugar and fatty foods with that number.

I'm helping out at my church's homeless shelter tonight, I'm going to eat before I go but I'll be involved in preparing a meal and we're supposed to share the meal with the guests so I'll see how that goes. I've asked to stay in the kitchen, so hopefully I won't be tempted to stray!

Hi everyone. Today's my first day back on plan and I'm enjoying it already. Here's my menu for the day:

Breakfast - Banana, fat free yogurt, coffee with sugar (1 syn)
Lunch - Jacket potato, tuna, sweetcorn, extra light mayo (1 syn) and HeA cheddar followed by cherries
Dinner - Roast chicken leg with cannellini beans, mashed potato (1.5 syns for some milk), broccoli and kale.

Snacks - Salted caramel hifi bar (HeB), grapes.

Leaving me 11.5 syns for something tasty and chocolatey in front of the TV tonight.

Personally I don't think it should be called Extra Easy SP as it gets rid of one reason a lot of people choose EE (being able to still eat pasta/rice/potato!) they should have kept another name, such as the perfectly good success express, and used that to avoid confusion. But that's just my opinion.

I weighed today and despite all my more negative thoughts I am able to report a 1lb loss!

Exactly the same here lush, both in that I lost a pound and I agree about the new name. I'm sure we could come up with something ruder but EE Stupid Plan will do for now.;)

Our group was packed this morning too. To be fair, while the consultant mentioned SP, she did push eat as much free food as you like and straight EE with a third of speed food as the main plan. She was of the opinion that Green and Red won't be lasting much longer even on the website.

I've kept going every few weeks just for website access and to weigh because I wouldn't want to weigh at home. If you did 'go it alone' you could always do what's worked for you before and ignore the changes.
    EE day
    He a milk
    HE b alpen bars
    B alpen bars and banana
L LO sticky chicken and lettuce wraps (2)
D egg, SW chips, beetroot and mullerlight

At the risk of sounding horribly bossy:o, midge, there's not enough S (Speed) food in there for EE. Bananas aren't S food any more. Same with your meals blinkered, cherries and grapes are no longer on the list and sweetcorn never was so your greens are your only S foods. I'm sure lots of us will carry on doing what's worked in the past and it'll still work but I'm just pointing out the changes.

I'm finding it interesting trying to tweak bits of the new ideas into the way I know I'll be able to sustain. So I've had a few EESP meals and today I might manage a whole day. I'm delighted that with today's loss I'm spot on target having lost any Christmas gains.:D As I'm at target, I tend to go off plan when I want to and then rein in so a few SP meals will be good for that.

    Today's SP? menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies with HEA milk
L: chicken tikka pieces with stir fried veg
D: sausages, peas, broad beans, carrot & swede mash, broccoli, cabbage
    Syns: sausages (2), gravy

The chicken was YS so I'm likely to snack on it as well and up the protein as sausages don't count.

I have tried it Pennylane and from what I remember it had to be sweetened quite a bit for my sweet tooth. :o If its to be used for a savoury dish ie a lemony chicken then it would probably be fine. Let us know what you think of it.

Well done maman for getting back on track and great that you are back on target.

A sts is probably quite good at this time of the year tweets. They had better watch out next week for our big losses. ;)

I have decided to give SW group another go ..... It was make your mind up time as voucher soon runs out. ;)

My goal is to get back into some lovely white jeans which I bought summer 2013 and which fitted beautifully. Summer 2014 arrived and they wouldn't go near me!

I have been clothes shopping countless times in the last year and it is SO depressing that I've refused to buy much at all. I have got some other lovely clothes which I bought in 2013 and which I tried on last night and they look horrendous. 2014 was the year of stretchy leggings and very loose tunic tops. :(:(

Summer 2013 I could be ready to go out in 5 mins, just pull on and go. I hate having to try on a wardrobe full of stuff to see which looks more slimming. :(

    OK I've convinced myself.:)

Yes sorry I didn't explain too well, I used the can of chilli as the base for the soup

Tin smart price chilli con carne

Tin chilli beans KTC on offer 25p

Tin chopped tomato on offer 25p

    Onion (1 sprouting)

    Carrots (2 sad bendy)

Celery ( just one stick and a few leaves really)

    lentils ( a good handful)

    2 tins water

Just put it all in and boiled up, made a huge pot and really good. Did add a tad more chilli powder to give it more of kick depends on personal taste.

This is meg's post about the chilli bean soup.

I'm glad you're giving it another go pennylane. I heard that white jeans are back in fashion this summer!
