No need to apologise Maman. I don't eat any vegetables (apart from peas and potatoes), and the only fruit I eat is oranges, apples, grapes and strawberries.

Thanks for explaining. wiz doesn't eat many veg and she's managing a steady pound a week off so it can be done. Why not try some Red or Green days where Speed food isn't so crucial? Oh and you forgot to mention beetroot!:rotfl:

Well I finally plucked up courage to weigh myself. I stopped going to SW group in mid November as I wasn't losing any weight and found it so disheartening.

I was going to persuade you to go but I read it as going to SW or giving up altogether. As LL said, you don't have to go to a group to do the plan. Stick around on here and we'll be glad to help but I would go just for one week to get new books and have the talk.:)

I had an EESP lunch.:D Large slice of ham with beetroot and pickled onions, then an apple chopped into some cottage cheese. Would have preferred something hot but CBA.;)

WI for me tomorrow. I'm going to brave it and see how I've fared over Christmas/New Year.

No need to apologise Maman. I don't eat any vegetables (apart from peas and potatoes), and the only fruit I eat is oranges, apples, grapes and strawberries. It stems from a childhood in hospital and being told if I didn't eat what was given, then I would not be allowed home (I was always in hospital). I have a genuine fear of eating certain foods. Veg is the main one. Yes I know it is a pathetic excuse, and every year I promise myself I will try just one, but i simply can't do it. I had help, done CBT, the only thing I haven't done is hypnosis.

I never used to eat any fruit, or rice, or potatoes. Those are something I have gradually started eating in the 10 years I've being married. Oh and i do eat onion now. Not a lot, but its add flavour something :o

So yep, i'm a little crazy, but I'm just thankful it hasn't rubbed off on my children who all eat nearly all veg (even sprouts!) :T I will get there eventually. If you knew what I used to eat you would probably wonder how I ever survived this far in life :o

    CP xx

Ohh what a wicked thing to say to a child, don't think you are even a little crazy, and don't think you need look further than what you have achieved already, your own kids , may I make a little suggestion, you are HOME NOW, your home your rules, if you don't want to eat veg DONT and try to forget the thoughtless bullying that you experienced, it would have been kindly meant, it was just the way it was then.

I put in an oven dish cook fro about half an hour at 175 degrees and serve with sw chips, noodles or pasta and broccoli. Mmmmmmm

    That sounds lush!

Some fabulous losses on here - and keep on trucking to the STS and gainers. Slow and steady wins the race!

Just checking up on the thread and checking in. Day three of being back on plan is going well. Keeping the Syns and carbs to a minimum as much as possible. Not as hungry as I'd feared, but I'd forgotten how much planning SW requires! Menus are generally porridge, salad and something with loads of protein and veg (chicken Dopiaza in the slow cooker tonight). Missing wine :(

    Onwards and upwards :)

Sorry I know I should ask my consultant these questions but I won't get the chance to tonight as I can't stay for the talk due to childcare.

Anyone got any good suggestion for protein based meals for a veggie who doesn't really like Quorn? I do eat eggs and tofu and various types of beans, oh and lentils! (they are protein right?!).

I may try EESP for a few days but just can't think what to have!

Is cheese a HEB on EE like it is on Green?

If I had the following would it be EESP?

B - heb cereal with milk from hea allowance and speed fruit OR omlette with speed veggies and hea cheese
L - soup made with speed veggies and some beans?
D - lentil meatloaf (lentils onion garlic herbs breadcrumbs [half heb] and topped with cheese [half heb]) with speed veggies
Snacks of speed fruits or hard boiled eggs?

Thanks in advance if anyone can answer my ramblings!

First WI of 2015 tonight! x

Its been hard as a vegi, getting enough P compared to S tho. I mainly ended up just chucking a handful of chickpeas or hard boiled eggs into most meals

I did have the quorn cottage pie with swed/celeriac mash and it wasnt too bad (quorn gives me stomach ache, so i try to limit it). And havjng 2 HEBs does help a bit. I really needed to use my syns for sugar tho, to give me the boost i would normally get from carbs.

I did it for a week and at times it was a struggle. Mainly as spuds/pasta are my quick fix, fill-up food. I did feel hungry alot of the time (rumbling tummy most days) so would use my syns for non-free carbs, like yorkshires or bread, just for filling stodge

However it must work, as i lost 4.5lbs this week. Im usually lucky to loose 1/2lb a week.

As the plan isnt recommeded for use every week, im going to adapt it a bit. So im planning to add only natural carbs back in on some days this week. so spuds and bananas, but not go back to pasta, just yet and see if that has an effect.

I've found with using quark in recipes that need baking, the quark splits and goes a bit weird in texture - how do you all stop that happening??

Adding a beaten egg helps. Does make it a bit more quichy in texture, depending on quark/egg ratio
  • Thanks for the applause Mamon.

I am an ex target member returning to group with her tail between her legs after an all inclusive holiday and change of jobs left me almost back where I started.

For me the only way I can keep the weight off is to stay to group !

Cheers ladies for answering questions about bread & checking my menu over for me :)

Maman - i only had two slices of lean ham that id shredded into my salad so ill make a note to up the protein for tomorrow.

Quick q- and im sorry if its been asked before :o ... alpen light bars (the >70cal ones) ... are they back on as a HEB or still to be synned? Just checking before i do damage to onw later haha!

Ok so todays plan: EESP (i think)

B- melon, apple & orange fruit salad (on the move as per usual)
L - ham & veg salad, a few prawns & granny smith apple
D - turkey ragu, sprouts, carrots & broccoli
HEA - skimmed milk (having a cuppa or two tonight & lasagne 2mro)
    HEB - undecided
Snacks - peppermint tea, clementine, melon, & maybeeee a freddo :D (if i have room haha) .... syns dependant on freddo (or curlywurly) 4-6

Ive decided to portion out my sweeties too in little bags - jelly tots & fruit gums... then i can grab a bag if i want, with damage limitation already in place.... was very tempting to eat a sweetie (or 7) in work today... but i resisted!!! :D ... what might i ask, is peoples theories behind bringing their dentists sweets at christmas hahaha!! I find it hilarious even moreso, because dentists have a majorly sweet tooth lol!
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
