Will have to do some exercise in the house I think :o

    Food for the day.....

Breakfast: Fruit (not really hungry this morning)
Lunch: Probably toast before work (5 syns)
Dinner: Took some chicken filets out the freezer so will work round that. Possibly chicken and new potatoes

Thats all I can think of at the minute. Feeling really run down.

Weigh in tonight, after two weeks and gaining two pounds, I now feel I'm likely to have lost weight! My own scales showed 12st 11lb and I can probably get about that, so it might be a fairly hefty loss and my 4st shiny.

:j Got everything crossed for your weigh in.

However looking at my stomach I still feel there is some way to go, really not sure how much more I should lose.

I realised I said I'd start running again when I hit 14st, I should probably have added "and when it stops being freezing out".

Once you start running again your stomach muscles will tone up and the flab will disappear in no time. Cycling worked for me.

    :hello: Comes out of hiding...

Had a full on week, with work and my son being ill, so had no time to come here. At the begining of the week I thought since I am off work Thursday and Friday, and my son should be better by then maybe we could go for a trip to a zoo or a park, but we ended up going to hospital on Thursday and me working every single evening as on wednesday I have been informed that the results of the project I am working on are due as of today. So, my husband stayed with my son in hospital and I was visiting them for as long as I can, but considering that my doughter was not allowed in the hospital, it was a bit of a logistical difficulty. In the end we managed and he came home on sunday afternoon (with hospital giving my OH that they have half an hour to leave the room!).

So, the food wise it was a disaster, as we ended up eating out with DD on Friday night (fast food pizza...). ready sandwiches from cafeteria or anything else I could scrounge very fast.

Still, managed to lose 0.9lb - which will probably come back on this week!

Lois - hope you wake up with a clear head this morning ;)

    Morning!

Yes, a bit late up, but my head is fine. It was the best night out we've had all winter with a really good singer. She did a good mix of music with a few older classics for the rock n rollers and plenty of bang up to date ones that had the dance floor full all night. My knees are creaking this morning!

Food wise, I was very good - melon and ham to start, peppered steak, carrots, broccoli and chips for main. I swapped my chips for broccoli :A and didn't have room for pudding. I did go a bit overboard on wine syns though :p and finished off with a Spanish measure of Baileys. :p

We're out again tomorrow - quiz team lunch - but that's it. Everything else is going to be strictly on plan.

    Have a great day!

I'm guessing at season all syns should I allow more to shake over a chicken filler or I could go for smoked paprika powder anybody know if that's free

Hi Karen - paprika and other spices are all syn free but not sure about season all. Cajun spice is great shaken on chicken, it gives it a bit of a kick.

P.s. Sorry for all the posts, I'm on the iPad and multi-quoting is a faff!

    Morning all!

Shala I'm off to Egypt for a week with my friend, I'll be away for my birthday, ridiculously excited considering how far away it is! Where are you off to? This 2lbs a week challenge that I've set myself seems quite achievable and I would def def def be in a bikini if I pulled it off!

Candyapple How long is it until you are away? Re the couch to 5k, I've done it before but always give up on week 2...I HATE running I seem to get really bored really quickly and then am just desperate for the time to be up! I have started interval running at the gym just to try and get my stamina up a bit. Have you done C25K before? I know folk that swear by it.

CountingPennies sounds like you're having a hard time of it, hope you're feeling a bit better today

    Liz3yy :hello:

    lantanna good luck for today!

My back is agony today, not sure I am supposed to be running!! Need to try and take it easy, having a wee bunk off college today to get caught up on some house stuff - mum is never here at the moment with Gran being in hospital and I've been so busy this house looks like a bomb has hit it!! So I'm essay writing and cleaning in my breaks...breaks everything up a bit plus I'm sure I can count it as "body magic" :rotfl: a strong coffee first thing seems to have lifted that sluggish feeling (TMI alert!!)

    b: multigrain porridge - hexa and b - fruit
l: hm lentil soup with bread (6 syns for the bread) fruit and yog
d: lm sausage casserole (3 syns for sausage, 2 for the splash of milk and dash of butter in the mash) lots of speed veggies in the casserole and on the side

Aiming for 10000 steps and 3 litres of water (diluted with NAS orange)

    Have a lovely day everyone!xxx

After some advice as would like to start slimming world but i am unsure if its for me really. Everyone post or forum i have had a read through all state about making your own pasta/curry sauces etc. We always use jar sauces here. Have tried making my own sauces in the past but they have never gone down well. I love them but OH just hates them. I'm ok at currys but i make the sauces out of a proper curry recipe book. Can you do slimming world if you use jar sauces? We usually use ragu or dolmio for pasta and pataks for curry. Uncle bens for sweet and sour and sweet thai chilli.

Seems a waste of time me even trying to do it if i cant use shop bought sauces, as i'm not about to start cooking separate for myself as that is where i have failed on diets in the past. Also fat on meat and skin on a roast chicken. Is it a must to cut the fat off? We only have steak and roast chicken probably once a month but the skin of the chicken and the steak fat is my fave part and i wouldn't be able to skip them.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

You can use ready made products such as jar sauces as long as you include them in your daily syns. You can have 5-15 syns a day.

A jar of Dolmio sauce has about 9-11 syns for a 500g jar or 13-16 for a 750g jar. This is for tomato based sauces, creamy ones are more, e.g. 25+. If there are 4 people sharing the sauce, then you take a quarter of the syns.

We sometimes have a pasta bake made from a jar. My husband is not a good cook and this is one of the meals that he can make and that my children enjoy. So if I have this meal, I add 6.5 syns to my food diary (roughly a quarter of the total syns of 25.5 for creamy tomato pasta sauce) and also have a healthy A choice for the cheese topping.

If I make my own sauce, then the whole meal is free, as I can use tomatoes, passata, onions, spices without any syns but sometimes it's good to have a night off the cooking.

I make my own tomato sauce, and it tastes better than the bought varieties, and it has no sugar and preservatives!
Base = Pasata, Double tomato pure, herbs, maybe some tomatoes

For a chilli I would add stock, beans and chilli for example
I can make a variety of dishes from my base: bolognese, sea food, chilli con carne.

You can use jars, but you must Syn them in your plan.
