Today I've had egg, bacon & baked beans for breakfast with 1 slice of w/m toast. Tuna salad for lunch and for dinner going to have chicken with lots of veg. Had milk as my HEA. Do I also need to have fruit?
Do your salad and veg tonight comprise at least 1/3 of what you've eaten today? Do you feel satisfied or do you still feel hungry?
As long as you've had 1/3 Speed foods and you don't feel hungry then you don't need to have fruit. However you should have at least 5 syns preferably more as you've only recently started doing SW.
HTH.

Hello all, may I join in please?
I've dabbled with SW in the past and other diets, including weight watchers, the 5:2 and gold ole fashioned calorie counting but nothing has been sustainable long term so far.
SW seems to be the best option for me now though after ping my research as I love my food and can't ber starving myself ever again.
I'm going to go it alone as I don't enjoy group meetings, I know how the plan works and will seek advise from this group as well as using the monthly magazine as inspiration.
This week may not go exactly to plan as I've already done a weeks shop without SW in mind. I also don't have much spare cash to go buy loads of fruit and veg to top up as we're moving house very soon and need every spare penny we have.
I've made a tentative start today though I think I may have over done my syns already, ooops!
B - Quorn sausages, baked beans, scrambled eggs, mushrooms all cooked in fry light
L - wafer thin Turkey sandwich with small slices from wholemeal loaf, light spread and cucumber plus a muller light
D - mushroom risotto cooked with frylight and a glass of wine
S - curly wurly and Cadbury fudge bar
Whilst typing that out I realise that I have indeed gone wrong, I aimed for a green day but wafer thin turkey doesn't fit in with that......
Hey ho, I will carry on and get better as I go along, at least eating this way is better than I have in the past.
My ultimate goal is to lose 2stone however if I can maintain this week after my first days balls up I will be a happy girl

You could still call it a Green day if you've only had 75g of turkey in your sandwich - it would be your 2nd HEB. 2 slices wholemeal from small loaf - HEB.
Quorn sausages are 0.5 syns each, assume 2 sausages so 1 syn;
light spread 2 (for 10g which is plenty for 2 slices of bread); glass of wine (assume medium glass 175ml) 6 syns; curly wurley 5 syns; fudge 5.5 syns (or 3 for treat size).
So about 19.5 syns so 4.5 syns over for the day but easily pulled back over the next couple of days if you stick to 10-12 syns each day.

Quorn sausages aren syned now? Wow that's worth knowing
I guess in the grand scheme of things today could have been worse, the wine added to the risotto was one small glass and DH will share the meal between us.

Welcome Liz, of course you can join in.:)
I would recommend going to a group once to get the new books and introductory talk (£10) but it's not essential.
I've made a few notes that may help.Hello all, may I join in please?

B - Quorn sausages, baked beans, scrambled eggs, mushrooms all cooked in fry light
Depends on which sausages but they're often low syn .
L - wafer thin Turkey sandwich with small slices from wholemeal loaf, light spread and cucumber plus a muller light
Wafer thin turkey isn't actually listed as a HEB on Green but I'd count it (up to 75g) and I'm sure it'll be fine.
D - mushroom risotto cooked with frylight and a glass of wine
S - curly wurly and Cadbury fudge bar
I make these 6 + 5.5 syns so with the spread on your sandwich and the wine I think you will have gone over today.

If you're low on fruit and veg you may be better off on Green until your next shop. Looking at today's menu you've had 2 HEBs (bread and turkey) but no HEAs (milk?cheese?). They're not essential every day but try not to miss them out.

You've got all the rest of the week to balance out those syns. I'm sure you'll be fine.:)0
