    Morning everyone.

Not long til my holiday either daisy have told myself this is the year where I won't be hiding myself away under kaftans, mind you have been saying that for last 3 years :rotfl:

Yep LL I think that's it the cost involved with the meetings. I've offered to lend her my SW book if she wants to go it alone, she loves cooking so the meals won't be a problem I think it's just making that leap and committing to the plan.

    Today's menu:
B - oats with mullerlight, carrot sticks mid-morning
L - ham and tomato omelette
T - Chicken risotto plus veg

    Syns to be decided later

I can well understand the cost putting your Mum off I didn't join for a long time as didn't really have any faith that the plan would work for me. My DD joined and when I saw it worked for her thought I would give it a go then her circumstances changed and she coudnt fit going to group in so she suggested that I join her and DGD on a mini challenge this was great fun and they came to my house every Thursday to weigh in she had all the books so we shared recipes and tips.

It worked well for us and we are all now going to group

Perhaps a family thing would suit your Mum, cant hurt to suggest it.

I think denise plans a month's meals at a time.

Maman - you're right, I do plan my meals for a month at a time but that's mainly because I like to get all my meat and fish for the month in one go!

I think this month I've had to change things round quite a bit - far more than usual. For example, I had originally planned to have roast beef yesterday but DD1 and DGD came for dinner and neither particularly likes beef so I changed it to roast chicken - so this week they'll be lots of chicken cropping up in my menu!

I'm confident that planning (and Speed food;)) are the two most important things in being successful on SW.

    Absolutely agree with this!

Your menu for today looks a bit low on Speed food (only salad?). Have you any Speed fruit to snack on to raise it to a third across the day?

    Also agree with this!

Because I've answered bits from Maman's post in the quoted bit it wouldn't let me post - so I've had to add an explanation, LOL!

Just a quick post before I read back and catch up.

Was delighted to see Asda are doing their lamb offer again this year.
Whole leg joints £3.97 kg. I love Lamb but don't have if often due to the price it is normally but will stock up on this.

Heres the link to cook it SW and its 1.1/2 syns.

Thanks meg. Love lamb so will check these out when I can make it down to Asda. :)

Well I struggled with SP did 6 out of 7 days I miss bananas and Muller lights!!
Syns spent on wine and extra bread and butter I went out to Loch Fyne last week so pleased with WI
Lost 2.5lbs this is my first week of doing SW seriously for about a year so hoping with everyone's help I'll get sorted

Do most people plan a weeks menu in advance I tend to look in the fridge and then plan which is a bit hopeless

Great start karen :T I try to plan - usually maybe only for the following day a lot of the time but planning is one of the ways to success. Batch cooking a bunging things in freezer for your own version of 'ready meals' is another thing that really helps when you are pushed for time or those 'just can be bothered' times. ;) Good luck for the coming week.

Enjoy your sausages, mich. My mouth is watering!:D

Happy thing – I got my outfit for the wedding yesterday. I had said I didn’t want a “mother of the groom” thing, I wanted something to wear again. But it is very weddingy after all. I am pleased with it (and the size was smaller than expected). I just have to get it altered as the top of the dress is a wee bit too big.;)

Oh my goodness - get you greentiger - having to have your dress altered as it's too big :p :rotfl: Well done you :T. When is the wedding - sorry I am getting a bit confused as there are a few of us with weddings through the year.

I was doing really well for 22 consecutive weeks until I received a SW SOTM Magnet, I've won SOTM 3 times, but this is the first time I've been eligible for the magnet - Other two times I didn't stay for the meeting so couldn't have it, and the other time the computer said no. I thought they were dead expensive or something, but she had hundreds of the things.

I'm going to start passing round a rumour about the SOTM Magnet curse

Think I might remove the two I have on my fridge jock - just in case :rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry to see you are struggling lush - hopefully it wont be long till you are back onto it.

Good luck lantanna and other fellow Monday night weighers.

Today so far - (B) fruit (L) JP with tuna and toms with large salad then apple. May have an Alpen light (0.5 heb) for snack shortly. Then after wi tonight SW fishcakes, SW chips and peas and bit other veggies. Hea will be milk and another Alpen Light (0.5 heb). Might have a couple of DS's lindt red choccie balls (8 syns).

Really fancying a cream cake  DH told me to get one as treat after wi but I've decided to save that particular treat till we are away next week.

I am a big list person and write lists of main meals, menus and shopping lists all the time, and have done since I restarted full time work after having my children. It helped then to know what we were going to eat each evening, and made sure everything we needed was in the fridge or freezer. It also reduces waste.

It became even more useful when I started SW. It took a bit longer to write my shopping list as thinking of SW friendly meals can be challenging, but having a list helps you avoid temptation in the supermarket.

Hope you and BF had a lovely weekend. Being at target, I don't go every week either mildredd. Usually I give myself a chance to rein in before facing the scales but try not too leave it too long.

I'm exactly the same lois. I've always done meal planning and found it especially useful when I was working 60 hr weeks. It meant it was one job done and out of the way. So when I started doing it for SW it was second nature to me.

I have to say that meal planning is a very grand title for what I actually do. I keep a notepad in the kitchen where I write down basics I'm running out of. I've even trained DH to do the same;). Then at the end of the week I draw a box in the bottom corner (about size of 2 postage stamps) with 7 days listed. I cross out days we're eating out. Then I write in 7 (or fewer) meals. As I'm writing meals I add to list any ingredients I need to buy plus basics for lunchtimes and breakfasts. The page goes with me to SM then when I get home I cut off the 'meal plan' and stick it on the microwave being careful not to use a SW fridge magnet!:rotfl:

Thanks for that info, think I'll try the SP for 1 week and see how it goes.

Today I've had egg, bacon & baked beans for breakfast with 1 slice of w/m toast. Tuna salad for lunch and for dinner going to have chicken with lots of veg. Had milk as my HEA. Do I also need to have fruit?
