xxxMorning all. Delighted to report that WI wasn't too bad last night. I was expecting at least 2-3lbs on but by some miracle managed -0.5lbIt's not my biggest ever loss but with what I've eaten and drank the past two weeks, I'll take any loss.
I'd love to say that today will be my first on plan day in a while but I'm going out with a friend tonight so I'm going to be realistic and deal with the fact that I will go over syns. I'm hoping to keep it to about 25 which would allow me 6x 25ml measures of vodka with Diet Coke. My tactics for trying to stay within that are to having just the one drink when I go to my friends before going out (I'd usually have plenty!) and then when I'm out having my vodkas in a large glass and asking for it to be topped right up with Diet Coke so it lasts me longer.
So, the plan for today is:
Breakfast - 2xsmall wholemeal toast (HEB) with a scraping of light spread (1 syn) and a clementine
Lunch - Mugshot and apple
Dinner - Vegetable pasta bake (HEA for cheese)
Evening - 6x vodka & Diet Coke (24 syns)Debt £10k , HMRC £3K old debt £4k Jan 2021

Sounds like a lovely day out b_e_g and well done on being SW while there. Shame the dress didn't let you breathe though - but won't be long until it fits and you can do that pesky breathing stuff as well
I have survived 2 SP days although I have also eaten an awful lot of stirfry! Note to self not to buy the big bags againIt's hard to make veggie meals SP because you don't have a nice big chunk of P to put on your plate so got to mix in bits with other bits. Stirfry is actually excellent for that I guess.
Lunch today will be more stirfry but that's the last of it. Then I'll be making a cottage pie for dinner and that should last at least today and tomorrow, then I'll probably make a casserole for the rest of the weeks dinners.
I may be talking myself into running a 5k on my birthday (12 weeks away). I've already had an offer of someone to run with me. Not committed as yet because I haven't appliedI'm going to try and start C25K next week and work that in with my walks. I feel like I'm going slightly crazy :rotfl:
I struggle with the SP days Crabapple - too much like a diet for me. I normally slip up when I think I will benefit from the extra heb so opt for SP day. Plan for overnight oats (1st heb) and while planning the second it dawns on me that I cannot have the yoghurt in the oats - it plays with my mind too much and blows my brain :rotfl: I'm with maman and try and slip in a few SP meals rather than SP days. On normal EE days, I just make sure I don't overdo portion size of carbs, particularly potatoes and pasta. Good luck with your 5k. My morning walks have diminished as the week has gone on this weekMorning
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions yesterday, sadly nothing has worked yet so I'm reporting my first gainsince starting SW in November. Shala it's +1 for me this week. Being Dh's birthday hasn't helped but I'm back on plan this week, and once the various remedies start taking effect I might have a good result next week.
Don't worry too much Lois - you will feel soooo much lighter once all the 'remedies' kick in :rotfl: Think I am on day 3 of 'no activity' in that dept - sorry for tmi at this time of the day.Morning all. Just a wee note for if you ever have too much stirfry in the fridge from buying it on Whoopsies, it makes fantastic soup!!
Boil it all up and then blend- really tasty and a bit different that normal veggie soup!

It's a vile day here - rain all night and now so grey and dark
Can anyone recommend any tasty low-syn sausages? The ones we had yesterday were really nice but at £3 for 6 I wondered if there was cheaper alternatives out there.
Horrible day here too candy - with rain all night and generally yucky out.
I'm another one who buys the Sainsburys BGTY Cumberland - £2 for 8 and 1 syn each. I also like Linda McCartney Rosemary and Red Onion Sausages - they are tasty, syn free and I think they were around £1.50 in Asda last time I bought them. We are making SW scotch eggs to take to the ceili on Sat night using the Sainsburys sausages, eggs and either crushed scan bran or dary rye ryvita - they are really lovely.Theres a really useful list for sausages here

Brilliant list meg :T
My mistake when shopping this morning - mum wanted 3 2lt bottle of ss milk (usually around £1 each) and I mistakenly put in the organic bottles at around £1.80 odd each  By the time I take into account petrol and time to get it changed it just wont be worth the hassle but by gum I will be more careful next week.

Hi Everyone!
Well done Hostie & Bev
Hugs to CP and Beanie and to Lois
My menu today is:
B: Fruit salad, natural yogurt & museli (HEB)
S: Apple, Skips (4)
L: Tomato mugshot, FF yoghurt, bananaSome sort of SW veggie cannelloni I found in the freezer.
Will have a kit kat (5) and some other syns later too
I can't remember what I thought of the cannelloni - I've found that some of the SW recipes where you just throw raw onion in the mixture and it's supposed to cook in its sauce in the oven don't quite do it for me. I love onion, but it needs cooking first - I try to remember to write a note onto the recipe for next time.
It's surprisingly nice here today - I've been expecting rain every day since Wednesday according to forecasts, but I guess its saving itself for the weekend...0 -
Afternoon
I've been reading up about gallstones on this website and it says they can be caused by being obese and by losing weight, so it's surprising more of us aren't suffering with you Lantanna - hope your doctor appointment goes well. The gallbladder operation is much simpler than it used to be, and often completed with keyhole surgery so the recovery time is much shorter.
I'm having an SP day today: I had an orange for breakfast, lunch was salmon and salad and dinner will be chicken with ratatouille. We usually have couscous with it but I haven't got any so SP it is!
Thinking about what treats to have with the HEBs, I often don't have any, so 2 is a luxury, I might have some prunes with yogurt, and ryvita with cheese (HEA). Yesterday I had cheese cut into cubes with cocktail onions on sticks - very 70s! - and really enjoyed it.
Meg - thank you for the list of sausages, that will be really useful when I get back to the UK. DH loves sausages and we haven't had any while in Spain as I don't know how many syns they would be. We love chorizo too.
Matron Midge - what's sweet lemon couscous? Sounds nice.If I get this right, I can eat like this for life
That's why SW works in my opinion - if you had to do without all the nice things you'd do it for a while and then get fed up, but as you can still have small amounts either as syns or HEs, it can become a way of life. Nothing is off limits, so even if you want to eat a whole 4 cheese pizza you can, using flexible syns, just not every day!

I've just realised I was SOTW, thanks very much I was so pleased with my weight loss this week. It's been a tricky week so far, out for dinner on Tuesday and lunch today. I also had a migraine on Wednesday, which made me crave lots of carbs, not sure why or whether it was just for comfort.
Had an SP day yesterday and the scales this morning were the same as Monday, so hopefully the bad and good days have evened out. I just need to make them go down now for next weigh in to get my 3 stone award.
I chose a vegetable lasagne for pub lunch today, which the menu said was under 500 calories. I sent back the garlic bread which came with it, as I'd asked them for double salad instead, which felt very heroic! I did eat some of my husband's chips but avoided a dessert in the pub and came home to have fruit salad and yoghurt instead.
Overall I'm feeling motivated but it is hard trying to stick to it and not being a party pooper when going out. I do want to be able to buy nice clothes and I'm in a size starting with a 1 rather than a 2 for the first time in many years, so this is helping me carry on.0 -

My meal out last night - seabass with steamed veggies and new pots was very nice and very much on plan and made me feel quite SW saintly but I would have much preferred to have chosen something else. My friend also had the seabass but swapped the new pots for chips - I could have done that but didn't. I think I go into a panic mode when faced with all the naughty choices. I know that going off plan and having whatever I want now and again will be fine but I just cannot seem to manage it yet. I really probably need to loosen up a bit. Told DH that when we go away for a couple of days later in the month, I am going to have whatever I want and if I put on 7lbs, so be it, it will come off again. That's the intention anyway
I too am starting to see bits of new clothing creeping into to wardrobe that start with a 1 instead of 2 - really good feeling.
