Hi MeandO
Sorry you're feeling glum.. feel free to pop in here as much as you want, it might help feel your part of a SW group rather than just doing it online by yourself.
I would say your menu doesn't look much food and it's a little light on speed foods, i'd be glum if that's all i was eating all day too!Are you a vegetarian or do you just prefer not to eat meat?
You could add some salad to both your lunch and dinner to up your speed food and make it a bit more appealing to you - it's amazing what a bit of colour on your plate does - check out mich's dinners when she posts them - they always look beautiful!
If you are vegetarian then you could do green days instead of EE and add in an extra Hea and B so when you get hungry in the afternoons you could grab a cereal bar or have some ryvita etc.
What sort of foods do you like/not like? it might help us if we have any suggestions..
If it would help, then feel free to join our challenge..
eta just read that back and it's a bit garbled but hopefully you understand itMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Afternoon all,
I am plodding along, still struggling 90% of the time. I just don't know what's up with me at the minute
Today:
Breakfast: morning meeting arrived early so I had a couple of party rings with my cup of tea and that was that (3 syn) I had brought a nice fruit salad inbut we only got out in time for lunch!
lunch: jacket potato, baked beans, cheese from HeA, lettuce, cherry tomato and cucumber. 1 party ring (1.5syn)
I will snack on my fruit salad throughout the afternoon
Tea: sausage casserole: 2 skinny lizzie sausages (3 syn) and the casserole is made using an asda cby sachet which is 6syn for the sachet so1.5 per portion total of 4.5 syn and I'll have mine with baby carrots and sweetcorn
I'm feeling rather despondent about my weight at the minute with 1st 4/5lbs still to lose to be back at my old target/pre-baby weight and no idea of why it's not happening for me at the minute. Naughty post weekend weigh (no major naughtiness just a couple of small pieces of homemade pizza and half a piece of eggy bread - wonder bairn had the other half) and the scales say a gain which made me want to breakdownhoping things get better and start moving soon

Hi Shala_moo and thank you for your lovely repsonse.
No, I'm not a veggie and love meat, but to be honest, I don't really bother buying and cooking it for myself as my little boy won't touch anything but ham! I find it sends the shopping bills really high too and that is an area I need to be frugal in at the moment due to my new 'single' budget.
I like pretty much all food except fish/seafood! Particularly love noodles, thai food and curries etc, but again, it's finding the will to make these things for myself. When I do, I find I eat too much of it if it's just there in front of me.
Thanks for the tip - I shall be checking out Mich's meals, they sound very inspiring!
A challenge sounds great! I'll look at earlier posts for info on it, but would love to join up if you don't mind.
I've bookmarked this thread, will try and check in daily to keep my motivation high!
Thank you

MeandO - Welcome to the thread:wave:
As you can't be bothered to cook just for yourself, if you have the freezer space it might make things easier for you if you could batch cook some food and freeze in individual portions (take away dishes are good for this if you have any, otherwise you can get 8 for £1 in £land or similar). There are loads of recipes on the SW site but I would just say that most of their meals seem to be a bit wet so use less stock/water than they say - you can adjust it whilst cooking.
Soups are another great way of getting some lunches into the freezer as well, particularly if you can get to Ald! for their Super 6 when they have veggies.
It's then just a case of remembering each evening to get out a lunch and an evening meal from the freezer.
When I'm batch cooking I try to get loads of veg into my meals as well as adding more to the plate when dishing up.
Hope this gives you some ideas.0 -
Thanks joedenise, I'm actually planning on making a big batch of free soup tonight, so hopefully that will help me be a little more organised.
Ah, I love Aldi, but unfortunately my schedule of work/school pick up.childcare is such these days that I don't have time to drive to it (it's a fair way away from me). I used to shop there religiously when I lived in a different area and the fruit & veg was always lovely and so reasonable. Now I have to rely on Mr T deliveries, otherwise I'd never get any shopping done!
I will dig some recipes out this week and bookmark a few to keep as batch-cooking ideas, maybe then at the weekend I can get my freezer stocked up. Thank you xx
Oh - does anyone have any details of the challenge Shala_moo mentioned? I couldn't find it on the first few pages...

aww feel for you Hun, I its hard when the weight dosent seem to shift, what helped me a lot was trying to keep in mind that I had lost some and then just marking time till I lost some more, any week that was not a gain was a bonus.
IT WILL HAPPEN EVENTUALLY, keep telling yourself this and you get to believe it.Slimming World at target0 -
Just checking my fridge before going shopping and was shocked at how many things I have that need using up, think its because I have been out a lot more than usual.
So have put off going shopping and will use up instead. This will save me a few bob which is just as well as the skinny jeans I bought when I got to target as now looking a little baggy round the bum so will need new ones soon.Slimming World at target0 -
Oh my word you have been a chatty lot since Monday night. Have had a very quick skim read-through but there were so many posts I have forgotten what I was going to say.
Thanks so much for all your good wishes on my latest shiney. What a canny lot you are.
So sorry I missed your birthday yesterday Shala - hope it was a good one despite having to go to work. I love marshmallows, kfcs and all the other stuff. :rotfl::rotfl:
Welcome to our newbies  - you will be guaranteed loads of support and laughs along the way and that's a promise.
Do you have a slow cooker MeandO - it is great to be able to stuff a bit of meat in and loads of veggies and when you come back home at tea time you are greeted by a wonderful smell as you go through the door. Making extra portions allows you to freeze some and then you have your own version of ready meals. As Denise says the hardest part is remembering to take them out of the freezer the night before to thaw. Good luck.
Well done to the latest losers :T Congratulations to cte on being our SOTW :T
Thanks for our chart shala and all your hard work - you are a gem. :A
So pleased your class went well for you on Monday Lantanna.
I love both dresses durham. At the end of the day, it is whatever you feel happy with - if DH likes it too - well that's a bit of a bonus. Well done you on all your hard work and getting into smaller sizes. How brave are you - making your own ballgown (with or without help) Don't forget to share some pics.
On the subject of dresses, I spotted this one in Asda and thought it would be nice for a wedding we are going to in August but I would hope that I will need a smaller size by then and cannot really justify the cost of buying it now as I don't really go out that much where I would need to wear a dress - bit overkill for Sainsbobs on a Friday morning do you think. :rotfl:
I know there were more things I was going to comment on but my head is in a bit of a fuddle as I had very little sleep last night and didn't want to get out of bed this morning.
Oh I remember something ......... someone mentioned book 'Fat Chance' by Nick Someone (?) - bought it on kindle yesterday for £1. Have been trying to order it at local library but it hasn't appeared on their lists yet. Just read 'The Curvy Girls Club' by Michelle Gorman and quite enjoyed that one.
Have to go out shortly and unfortunately the bloomin rain has arrived and I am going to get soaked.
Will catch up with you all later.
