    Debt-free and Proud!
Just made my first dish from a SW book..

Made "Bang Bang Chicken Noodle Salad" from the "A Taste of Asia" book, WOW

It was tingly on the tongue, spicy, tastey, a little bit firey, but cooled down by the salad, my tongue is ringing with excitement as I type.
I have never tasted something so wonderful that I made with my own hands.
I now know SW will be a taste and ingredients adventure, I had to come to SW to find out how to make delicious meals!

Thanks for your reply - I'm definitely thinking a lot more about what goes onto my plate, am mentally dividing the plate into thirds when I'm dishing up now where before veggies didn't even get a look in.

Will definitely try the batch cooking. There's times when we both work late so grabbing something from the freezer and shoving it in the microwave is definitely appealing.

    Today's food is
B - overnight oats with mullerlite
L - salad with chicken and cous cous
T - cottage pie (which is bubbling away in my slow cooker making me hungry with yummy smells) with some form of potatoes and green veg

:Ton making the effort to cook from scratch, It's worth it but we don't always have the time (or energy).

I meant to add that MrsR who posts on here has limited cooking facilities for one reason and another and she's lost loads using a microwave, sometimes meals and sometimes things like salmon and rice. Hopefully she'll be along soon to give more tips.

Another tip is to serve the veggies up first so you're sure you have at least a third of the plate covered before adding other things.

Doesn't your cottage pie have potatoes in it anyway? or are you just cooking the mince mixture in the SC? If you haven't used all your HEA then a bit of grated cheese on top of the mash is yummy.

    Gained 1lb please Shala :o

Had a slightly off plan week so not too upset - it's also the kick up the bum I needed so I don't think I can get away with things too much. Hoping for a good loss next week.

    Hi Everyone,

Just popping in to say 'well done' to the latest losers :T

How exciting Meg - fingers crossed for you. Remember the fish is syn free if you remove the batter :p;) I could just murder a plate of [STRIKE]fish[/STRIKE] batter and chips with mushy peas, salt and vinegar nom nom :rotfl:

Good luck lantanna - will be thinking of you when I am stepping on those SW scales myself tonight.

Just had some sweetened quark with some Choc Shot to try and ward of the hunger pangs and I prefer my meal when I get back in tonight. The quark was ok but hasn't ticked the box for me I'm afraid.

Good luck to all the other Monday night weighers.

Will pop back in later with the latest result.

Aint that the truth, would love to get together with you and Mildredd and write a book :rotfl:

I had a really lovely time on my date, restored my faith that there are some good ones out there, he was a perfect gentleman, actually opens doors and pulls a chair out for you to sit down, he has 5 sisters and has obviously been nicely trained on how to treat a woman. Has a great sense of humour,

Walked me back to the Station, sorted out what platform I should be on, gave me a nice hug and and a kiss and asked me to phone him to let him know I was home safe, told me I was quite lovely , and asked to let him know if I would meet him again.

Maybe this ones a keeper, time will tell.

    Evening

Today went ok except I swapped the risotto for a sainsbury version which we only3 syns and I swapped the Freddie bar for a sainsbury chocolate cookie which was 15.5 syns instead of 5

Total syns were 18.5 so over again :(

    Tomorrows plan

Breakfast at the cafe, mushrooms on wholemeal toast with bacon. Bacon and mushrooms are cooked on the grill, but they use oil so will have syns.
L - probably nothing as breakfast will fill me up.
D - SW style kfc chicken with SW chips and salad, mini baby bel (HE)

I will try to not have any extra syns as I don't know how many the bacon and mushrooms will have.
