    Hi all

wow lots more new joiners fab.

Shala thanks for the chart as always. 34 stone would be amazing for us to lose.

Have managed to make my kheema curry so once it cools I will stick it in the fridge overnight and then bag up for freezing tomorrow. Still using up some of the left overs though not much to go now. Still two days til I join a group so hope to get the last bits used up. Chocolate isn't really a problem for me as I am not keen on it so have bagged up the bag of celebrations we were given into small portions (4 in each bag) for DS1 to take to school for his morning playpiece as he can take that and a piece of fruit.

Has anyone heard of any offers for countdowns for the New Year/New Plan? My existing countdown has just expired :(

I was wondering the same too. Mine ran out last week. I don't think they will have offers though this month due to all the new starters who are getting free weeks. I may get a 6week one to tide me over.

Lovely to see all the support on here. I have missed it and it is probably no surprise that I was sliding off the wagon before Christmas even arrived.

However, I am ready to dive back in to the SW way tomorrow. I am not going to lose sight of the fact that I lost just shy of 3 stone in six months on the SW plan so I know it works and what I can and can't eat.
Tonight, I am ending my binge fest with BBQ ribs, chips, slaw and wine, before polishing off my home made pear and chocolate pudding. I am dreading the scales tomorrow, but am hoping that if I am very determined it'll come off again as quickly as it went on. Plan for tomorrow is:

Porridge for breakfast (Sainsbury's quick cook oats - can anyone enlighten me as to the Syn value, please?). Will be made with skimmed milk

Salad for lunch with salmon flakes and 1/2 pack Waitrose roasted vegetable couscous

Dinner will be chicken casserole, made with an Asda mix and vegetables.

Exercise will be my usual hour walk with the dog and then 12km cycle (commute). Once I've got the first week under my belt I want to have a go at the new plan, it wasn't unusual for me to restrict carbs anyway, but I need to get back into the swing of the SW way before I commit to that.

I want to reach my target by April (my birthday). That's 15 weeks so if I can average 2lb per week I should lose 30lb which puts me close to, if not at, target.

I went on a nice walk today with my 2 friends, one toddler and a dog. It was more of an amble at the start but once the toddler was in her buggy we marched (mainly to keep warm!). We actually walked for 5miles total!

I carried my friend's toddler for a little bit, and remarked how heavy she felt after awhile (she not fat, just meant I'm not used to carrying a child!). Turns out she weighs 1stone 10lbs....and I've lost 1stone 11.5lbs so far on SW! So I've lost just a bit more than this little one!

I hope it goes without saying that I'm not watching these programmes and delighting in their misery. I have admiration for most people on these shows and I view it with a sure and certain knowledge that if I don't sort myself out, then 'There But For The Grace of Frog go I'.

Thanks for that frogga, I've set them to record (I drive into a city to work, and have a stupid o'clock start weekdays in order to miss the traffic, so go to bed really early too). I'll catch them up at the weekend.

Never crossed my mind that anyone would watch things like that to delight in others' misery, but I suppose some people would.

Thanks for the chart Shala, it gave me an extra push to stay on track today seeing it all official-like!

After a butter-gate breakfast, I've kept more on plan the rest of today (just ordinary, not the SP 50/50 one) and funnily enough I feel absolutely stuffed tonight, not craving anything at all.

Lunch was spinach, cucumber and rocket salad with hard boiled eggs and smoked salmon (cooked, hate it raw) and a tbsp. of light mayo.

Dinner was slow cooked pork mince with red lentils, mushrooms, onion, garlic, mung beans and tomatoes. Had it with a little brown rice tossed with a roasted yellow pepper and cauliflower, garnished with rocket leaves.

Snacks were clementines and apple. Still expecting a gain tomorrow but feel very upbeat about the plan now.
I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

I too have a guilty pleasure of reality weight loss so we'll watch it together ;)

Anyone else watching Biggest Loser and looking forward to the final this week?! Doesn't look like it's on frogga's record list!

I love the weight loss shows! I watch wondering how people manage to get that big (and usually it's American shows so I'm like '400lbs, what's that in real money?' then 'OMG!'). I love seeing how well they do and what a change it makes.

Speaking of which, my mum finally (having been aware that I'm doing SW for at least 4 months and never once asked how I was getting on) commented on how good I was looking :T Then my dad said they shouldn't say that until I'm done! So that's me still fat then is it dad? :rotfl:

As a newbie to the thread what day do people weigh please?

I've had a good day so far on SW EE. Not got my head around the SP yet

Breakfast was fruit (grapes, blueberries, raspberries and banana) with 0% Greek yogurt.

Main meal was lean pork steaks with colcannon, leeks and cauliflower with a little HM cheese sauce.
(Made the sauce with skimmed milk, low fat spread, a little flour and low fat cheese and this is my only syns for the day.)

    HexA - milk in drinks
    HexB - HiFi bars

Also got melon and Mullerlight for later.

Thanks for being there folks :T

  • I weigh in on a Monday, kazzaw. Was considering moving it to a Sat but that would encourage me to lapse over the weekend, so I'll keep it as it is.

I have spoken to my consultant and as far as she knows there will be an offer on countdowns for all of feb. :j Hth

Hubby has just informed me that we are having butter bean mash (blitzed butter beans) to go with our salmon. Love butter beans but will reserve judgement on the mash. _pale_

Car in at garage tomorrow (new clutch) - fab start to 2015, so will be a bit confined to barracks so I may plan a few days menus for the rest of the week - well that's the plan ;)

Good luck everyone for the coming week.
