    -2lbs please Shala

Finished my detox on Friday and feeling fantastic! Did two 5ks this week. Lost 13 inches. I've been pain free for the first time in over 2 years and my whole attitude to eating has changed. From now on I shall be eating to fuel my body correctly rather than lose weight...although obviously hoping that it will also result in continued weight loss!

So slimming worlds rules have gone out the window and I've created my own :D I'm going to be kind of following EE but with the emphasis on high protein and reduced carbs. Breakfast will be completely off plan...A smoothie with a 60/40 ratio of veg to fruit with a scoop of vanilla protein powder added to make it into a meal...and I shall be syning none of it as it's healthy! My syns each day are going to be used on the healthy foods that are high in fats so that I don't overeat on them...things like nuts, nut butters, avocados etc and the occasional protein bar as a snack. All junk is gone, as is tea (except for herbal), coffee and carbonated drinks. I'll be having my HEA each day but HEB will depend on how my carb intake is going for the day.

Your detox sounds like the juicing diet my hubby thinks he's following, I say thinks because he tried putting the leafy greens in but it was too bitter so now he conviently forgets to put them in so its mostly a fruit smoothie with protein powder a few oats/nuts/seeds etc. but of course I can't say anything as I'm 'having a go'. He keeps saying well it's healthier than he was eating which is true but still a lot of fruit sugar being consumed. He does eat the leafy greens in he evening meal though.
He swears by Joe Cross and has bought a nutribullet. We will see!!
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Your detox sounds really interesting Whiplashy. Did you lose weight while drinking smoothies? Personally I love carbs and don't think I'd lose weight without being allowed the comfort of a baked potato or bowl of pasta.

Can I join the challenge too? Or am I too late?

And what exactly does cool translate as where you are? It's 11 degrees here and a very pleasant change from the past few months.:)

    .

It was a little warmer than 11 degrees at the time of writing, probably about 15, but once we'd had brunch the sun came out and it was lovely and warm, at least 20 degrees. :D

We decided against the shopping centre and had a lovely walk near the sea instead, ending up at the marina where there are several restaurants and a coffee bar, which were all really busy with Spanish families out enjoying their weekend.

The SW chips are now in the Actifry and smelling nice, and I'm about to reheat the soup. Looking forward to a quiet evening in with Call the Midwife and Poldark. I used to love that when it was on before, I had a mini crush on Robin Ellis, the actor that played Poldark. I'm probably showing my age now, anyone else remember it?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

    Welcome back, hostie. Hi nuttywoman.

Good for you, wizkid, whiplashy and Smedley.

Oh yes, Lois, I remember Poldark from the 70s! And I have all the books still (I think there are 10) in the loft; may have to get them down again! I’ve set it to record the new series, but I’m not sure if I can accept the different actors!

Chocolate & beetroot cake went down well with DH. I sent him off today with a couple of slices for DD and her husband. It’s HUGE, so there is more than ¾ left.

Well today fell apart – after me promising I’d be good too. DH came home earlier than anticipated from tennis and brought me a surprise fish supper. It was lovely but ……

    So today’s damage
Breakfast: ML mango & passionfruit yogurt and 2 clementines
Lunch: hm leek & potato soup, last fruit slice (oops, how did that happen?)
Dinner: fish supper (head hanging in shame), beetroot

Tomorrow is WI and so I am not hopeful. It’s also not a good start to the week as I’m going out for lunch.

    Breakfast: yogurt & fruit
    Lunch: out
Dinner: I’ll have a think when I get home, maybe a sandwich

Why do my plans fail? Hoping for a better week.

  • Evening all, hope everyone's had a good weekend. Some great losses posted! I'm fearing the scales this week. Last 3 days have been on plan, but we went to a friend's for lunch today and had way too many syns. Veggie lasagne probably wasn't too bad, but the less said about the 3 glasses of wine, garlic bread and chocolate cheesecake the better...
Absolutely delicious and a great time catching up with old school friends and their families but scales won't thank me. Have an away day at work tomorrow so lunch will probably be sandwiches and then on Tuesday, I'm having lunch with my old boss. Am trying to minimise the damage but am fearing the worst for Thursday weigh in!

    Hi All,

Hope everyone is well. Busy weekend here. I cooked lunch for dd and sil today, so at least it was all SW friendly. How may syns in a malteaster bunny, please? (I ate two today.....) but haven;t had any other syns, so am hoping it is within limits. (I hate auto correct as I have to re read everything!)

Have been clearing dds bedroom moved out nearly 2 years ago and it is still full of her stuff). Her friend is coming to stay for a few weeks. (She lives in Ireland and has just got a new job in London) It will be nice to have someone in the house for a while.

Tomorrow is Wi, so will post Tuesday morning. Onwards and downwards peeps.:D
