-2lbs please Shala
Finished my detox on Friday and feeling fantastic! Did two 5ks this week. Lost 13 inches. I've been pain free for the first time in over 2 years and my whole attitude to eating has changed. From now on I shall be eating to fuel my body correctly rather than lose weight...although obviously hoping that it will also result in continued weight loss!
So slimming worlds rules have gone out the window and I've created my ownI'm going to be kind of following EE but with the emphasis on high protein and reduced carbs. Breakfast will be completely off plan...A smoothie with a 60/40 ratio of veg to fruit with a scoop of vanilla protein powder added to make it into a meal...and I shall be syning none of it as it's healthy! My syns each day are going to be used on the healthy foods that are high in fats so that I don't overeat on them...things like nuts, nut butters, avocados etc and the occasional protein bar as a snack. All junk is gone, as is tea (except for herbal), coffee and carbonated drinks. I'll be having my HEA each day but HEB will depend on how my carb intake is going for the day.

Your detox sounds really interesting Whiplashy. Did you lose weight while drinking smoothies? Personally I love carbs and don't think I'd lose weight without being allowed the comfort of a baked potato or bowl of pasta.

Hello all, gosh it's been very quiet in here this weekend but hopefully that means you're all off enjoying your weekend!
All a bit manic this end, mum has been staying with gran since wednesday as she's still poorly so I have been holding the fort on my own. Because of all the studying and exams this house looks like a bomb has hit it so I'm getting the body magic in doing a mad clean this morning - I'm not the tidiest at the best of times!! Bed is all febreezed and sheets hanging out on the line - a fresh bed is a lovely thing to have on a sunday night!!
Eating hasn't been great but not disastrous, although I bought these nutrigrain bars to nibble on when studying yesterday. I scoffed 5 because they were so tasty and I am so greedy, but convinced myself one was a hex b and the others were only 4 each so figured it wasn't too bad.....of course I checked this morning and they were 9 syns. Each. No wonder I never lose any weight!!!!!! :rotfl:0 -
That's great wiz, getting to be a habit!!:T How much have you lost so far and how far to go?
To ten stone I have 4 to go. Then on my way down to 9 Yippee! :T
Well done! I think that means you've joined the 1.5lbs club that's so popular this week.:T
And what exactly does cool translate as where you are? It's 11 degrees here and a very pleasant change from the past few months.:)
I'm having an on plan day today, still high syn as I always do at weekends but nothing totally OTT.
Today's EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: frittata/omelette (basically whatever veg and a couple of eggs)roast beef, SW roast potatoes and parsnips, cabbage, green beans, cauli and carrots
Syns: squirt of syrup, gravy, horseradish, weekend wine.[/QUOTE]0 -

Help
I have to take something on Tuesday to my group as I have a very busy day I decided I will get a pack of SW sausages, grill them and cut up, stick them on cocktail sticks with a slice of cucumber and half cherry tomato for a hat.
I really like the idea of Ferrero Roche on here

but I know if I made these they would not get to group:rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -

That's a great idea meg as I'm sure lots of people will want to taste them to see if they're worth buying.
nuttywoman, you don't have to cook unless you want to. Lots of people buy something like low syn crisps or rice cakes so people can 'try before they buy' like with meg and the sausages.
And they'd rather you went empty handed than not at all.0 -

I did the Forever Living Clean 9 detox hostie. Overall I lost 10lbs and 13 inches on it. It was basically a 2 day extreme detox where you have half a litre of aloe vera juice a day, 1 protein shake, 2 litres of water and some supplements. For the other 7 days it's more reintroducing healthy food into your body. So 2 protein shakes a day up to day 8 with 600 calories of food plus your aloe, water and supplements. Then 1 protein shake with 900 calories of food plus your aloe, water and supplements on day 9. Before the detox I was having my veg/fruit smoothie for breakfast when I was working but it never kept me full until lunch, which is why I've decided to add the protein to it. It makes such a difference!
I completely agree with you on the carbs. I love them! I'm not cutting out any food group completely. In fact I'm having a baked potato laterMy menu for today is
B Smoothie with kale, celery, green pepper, tomato, blueberries, apple, orange and protein powder
L Quinoa crispbread with cream cheese and smoked salmon
D Chicken breast with homemade tomato and red pepper sauce, steamed veggies and small baked potato
S Apple with teaspoon of cashew nut butterBack on the slimming world wagon 04.01.18

No sorry we're not buddies.
My birthday isn't until Thursday but, like you, I seem to have given myself licence to celebrate very early this year!
ah never mind, near enoughlets celebrate and then get straight back on plan!
Struggling to get back in the zone at the mo.
Just had some rather lovely malteasers chocolate.
Was a rather large bar.
as long as you enjoyed it Beanie!First week of the challenge -0.6 kg, off @shala & joedenise
Thank you
So shall I put you down for 1.3lb loss? i'm sorry the chart doesn't work in kg as I've got it set up for lbs.. can you give me your losses in lbs to put on the chart for future weeks please.:)
Bad menu for me yesterday/today...
Franky and Benny's for lunch (burger and chips), 2 rice krispie squares for pudding and we made a start on that Thorntons hamper last night:o bad, bad, bad... each chocolate is about 2.5-4 syns - only had 4 so not as bad as it could have been!
Off up to MIL's in a minute so i'm taking a couple of boxes of chocolates and a bag up there.. it's gets rid of them from the house then we won't eat them!!
I'm loathe to get rid of too many though cos the hamper cost me £40!
Welcome back hostie, course you can join the challenge... just let me know how much you want to lose by the 3rd May and i'll add you on.Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
I'd love to join the challenge also now that I'm in the swing of things. Can you put me down for 7 lbs please shala?
I jumped on the scales this morning and was pleasantly surprised. Will do 1st proper WI on Thursday morning as that's the day I officially started this. All week the MIL has been asking me questions about SW and are we sure we haven't got it wrong when we say we can eat as much pasta as we like with no portion control etc etc.
Menu so far today has been -
B - Scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans
L - Corned beef hash (3 syns) with cauli and broccoli
T - Depends how hungry I'm feeling, I'm still undecided
HEA- milk in cuppas during the day, HEB - not had yet, thought I would need alpen bars mid-morning but breakfast left me full for ages, so maybe toast later
Snacking on fruit throughout the day - still got syns to play with
I'm really no good at menu planning as you can see! I'm very much used to looking in my freezer and finding a micro meal or something that can go on my george foreman grill - finding all the cooking from scratch very new and a tiny bit stressful but hopefully I'll get better0 -

Good to hear you're getting in the swing of things candy. All I'd say about the portion control is that you can eat as much as you like but it has to be in proportion. So for every helping of, say, pasta and meat you must have at least a third of your plate with Speed food. Looking at your menu today you've only had cauli, broccoli and any Speed fruit you snack on plus maybe some onion in the hash. It would take a lot of fruit to make a third of your food for the day. Personally I think veggies are better because of the sugar content of fruit but that's just my opinion.
Of course you could try the SW ready meals but there are easy meals that don't take too much cooking. Jacket potatoes, omelettes and stir fries are all really simple. Another idea is to spend a bit of time batch cooking things like Bolognese or chilli and then portion it up for the freezer to give you HM ready meals. Or make casserole type meals and eat one and freeze one or really simple meals like sausage and mash or egg and chips. HTH:)0
