Morning all
Wizkid - hope the infection clears up soon. You've had the best advice, but just to add, if you're prescribed antibiotics, make sure to finish the course.
Retiredlady - feel free to off load any time. SW obviously isn't working for you at the moment, maybe alternating with carb free for a few days at a time would do the trick. Going carb free full time may be too much and set off the cravings as soon as you stop.
Sir Handel - welcome to the thread, ask as many questions as you like, there are plenty of experienced SW'rs to give great advice. Does Lady Handel go to SW as well?
JPScloud - well done, great loss!
Jocko - are you planning to go into detail about your blowout at weigh in, or gloss over it?
Well done to all the losers so far, have a good day everyone.

Quick question in overnight oats. Do the oats go mushy or stay crisp? Can I bake them first?? I don't like mushy cereal but love crisp and crunchy ones. Any ideas??

No, the oats don't stay crispy - i think the point of keeping them in yogurt overnight is to make them soft. I wouldn't do overnight oats if you want them crispy, even if you do bake them first, if you keep them in yogurt overnight they will go soft. I am not a fan of mushy musli or cornflakes, but I like these oats - just need to remember to do them in the evening! Yesterday I got kids to help me while OH prepared the dinner, and they enjoyed scooping out the yogurt from the pot and putting in the jar, getting a handful of oats from the bag, etc., so that might be our new 'game' so to speak...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I'm thinking of starting slimming world but just the online membership, does anyone else do that or is it more the groups?
My story: I started on SSRI medication 3 years ago and that has caused me to gain around 5 stone in weight. The first 2 stone I could cope with but now I'm really unhappy. Weighed myself last night for the first time since Christmas and ended up crying... So figured it's time to try *something*.
Up until November last year I was very into the gym, I did a lot of weight lifting and some cardio. I have a big appetite when gymming so the slimming world idea appeals to me rather than calorie counting. Since November though, I moved house and got out of routine and not got back into it. There's no decent gyms near me either anymore... Exercise helped me a lot with my depression but now the idea of looking in the mirror makes me cry...
So basically, what's the deal with SW online? Sorry for the ramble
Go for it...
I'm also doing SW Online, I am very motivated, I log everything I eat along with values.
I advise this MSE group, it really helped me get started.
The online tools and recipes help a lot, but I personally enjoy the books I ordered a lot more.
I also advise doing this with a friend, the accountability, sharing progress, recipes and being able to get 2 x the information (everyone picks out different things from the books), can really help people with frustrations and getting the most out of SW.
I am doing SW with my Mum, and I have had to correct some of her mistakes already, she is thankful, because she is learning faster and achieving her goals faster.
Good luck.SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -

Hi all, iv been doing Slimming World now for the last 4 years. I've had my up's and down's, i've currently lost just over 4st in those last 4 years but it's been hard. I've had days/weeks where my heart was not in the right place, my goals and reasons for slimming have changed. I started off on my slimming journey weighing 19st 11lbs. It was my mum that encouraged my to go to her local group, i was very reluctant to go, i was so worried people would be staring at me, whispering in the background and also a room full of women. I was a shamed of how over weight i had got, once i was at group i was welcomed with open arms everyone was so friendly. Six months later i met my now fiancee at my local group, we now have two beautiful children, Joshua is 2 and Bethany is 6 weeks old. My goal now is to get fit and healthy for my family.0
