  • Shala I can FINALLY announce a LOSS after a rubbish few weeks.... -4lb please!!! So happy with this. Feel like i'm getting back to normal. Plus i've finished all my steroids which i'm convinced will help with my loss now.

    Amazing result CP :T

Like the sound of your meal b_e_g, unfortunately salmon is one of the few other things my DH isn't fond of but he might like it with the spicy flavourings. I'll put the idea to him.

It was lovely maman and so easy to knock up. Just bung the packet of salmon in the microwave for just over 3 mins and ping. The salmon fillets aren't too big - I am sure you could manage two if DH was fancying something else - either that you will just have to educate his palate. ;)

Had a look for Finn Crisps yesterday in Sainsbobs and couldn't find them. Fancied giving them a try as they seem popular here. Are they a bit like Ryvita?

Might be getting ahead of ourselves a little, but do we have a name for the new challenge? It was something about eggs last year I think (was before I joined SW or this thread).

I was wondering the same thing Crabapple :D. You just reminded me when you mentioned Easter that it will be a year on Easter Monday since I first started SW :j In a much better place this year :D

There is a ceildh on at our parish hall and I have suggested to my friend that we pop along  What is happening to me? Is this part of the transformation? Totally out of character in all honesty. We touched on the idea of going last year but neither were in a very good place. Will have to bring our own food and drink so I am sure SW quiche will be coming along with us and I might get some cans of diet gin and tonic - just for a bit of damage limitation.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on this thread for about a week trying to decide whether SW is for me. Everyone who I've spoken to at work seems to have lost weight following this so I fancied giving it a shot - already loving the idea of the free food and not going hungry :D

I've struggled with my weight for years and its slowly crept up to the point where my BMI now tells me I'm obese rather than just overweight which has scared the bejeezus out of me!

I'm naturally painfully shy so the thought of going to a group meeting and talking about my weight just brings me out in a cold sweat, so I'll be doing it on my own. Although after reading the post about it being a waste apart paying for online membership apart from the books, I'm now tempted to just buy the books off ebay and do it that way.

Hello candyapple. SW is the only 'diet' I've ever done but what attracted me to it that it's the closest to normal healthy eating. The only trouble about buying books from ebay is that SW have just (in January) brought out new ones so it's unlikely that they'll be the most up to date. The old ones are OK but there have been some changes to the recommended fruits in particular plus a new low carb plan for boosting weightloss to be used occasionally. As I said yesterday if you could just pluck up the courage to go to a class once you'd have an introductory talk and a set of new books for £5. You wouldn't have to talk about your weight as you wouldn't have lost any as its your first week. That starts in week 2 when they say what you've lost and ask how you got on etc.

Whatever you choose, stick around on the thread. It's essential for SW!!:D

So sorry I've been missing and missed posting up about the challenge, my dad's been in hospital so I've had a night away from Internet access  back home now, so just going for a nice, hot shower and a quick relax (maybe a nanny nap) and then I'll do a big catch up and post the new challenge x

Sorry for letting you down after I promised I'd post it yesterday! :(

Please don't think you have let anyone down - you needed to be there for your Dad. Hope everything is ok and that he is getting better. Hope you feel nice and refreshed after your shower and 40 winks. ;) Look after yourself too.

Welcome back 32b :hello: You are just in time for joining in on the new Challenge (starts Monday I think) - that's if you would like too :D. Shala will be posting details later and she will just need to know how much you would like to lose - I think it may run until Easter. Good luck

Just noticed that I said going to one session to get the books costs £5. It's £10 (joining fee and first week). Oops sorry.:o

Some good losses recently! Welcome to the new people. Maman is right - it is worth going to a group to get the new books and the introductory talk.

Only had 3.5 syns yesterday - 12g of Magic Stars (bought a big bag so just weighed them out). Each one actually weighs a gram so had 12! No weekend wine last night!

    Another EE day today:

    B - SW fry up
L - SW sausage in roll with loads of onions (HEB); scrape of mustard (0.5)
D - SW beef in red onion gravy with swede & carrot mash; roast potatoes & green beans.

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB - roll
Syns: mustard 0.5; weekend wine probably

Anyone else want a :coffee:just grab one there is enough to go around if not you know where kettle is :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Sorry to hear about your Dad Shala, I do hope you are both ok.
For the next challenge I'm going to try a conservative 5lbs please.
Spent 3 1/2 hours gardening today. Clearing away winter and digging beds. I'm shattered and off in the bath for a soak.
Before I forget, I had the tikka ready meal last night and I really enjoyed it. I will be keeping one in my freezer for those CBA days.
