Tried the salmon pasta meal tonight, was nice enough for a ready meal but wouldn't rave over it.. Had to zing it up a bit with some chilli flakes but that's just me liking spicy food.. Will try to make it myself form the recipe.. Posted it in the FB group, here's the meal http://instagram.com/p/ziQ1htGjeK/0

Oh what a treat! We love Le God (as he's known around these parts.):)amycollins1977 wrote: »well today was my weigh in - feeling pretty disheartened.
Lost 8lbs in my first 3 weeks, week 4 put on 1/2 pound and this week lost 1/2 pound so back where I was 2 weeks ago.
Been really good with my food this week, even started jogging last week!
I guess the trick is not to give up! Came out of group and so wanted to go and buy chocolate but resisted!
:-((
You're right ! You definitely don't want to give up. It's usual to lose a lot to start with and then settle into a smaller loss but not to the extent you have. If you've got time, post your menus (ideally in advance) and we'll see if we can find something to tweak that's perhaps not quite right. Meanwhile keep eating your greens!:)0 -
Thanks Maman
This is tomorrows menu. I'd really appreciate your thoughts!
B = 2 x Weetabix (b) with Strawberries & skimmed milk (from a)
L = Ploughmans lunch with ham, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, celery sticks, gherkins
S = Muller light, melon
D = homemade chilli made in slow cooker with lean steak, kidney beans, tomatoes, peppers served with broccoli
If I need a snack in the evening I’ll have a pink n white or maybe an Options hot chocolate

Welcome smedley, I'll have a go at answering your questions. It is a bit confusing at first but you'll soon get the hang of it. Just keep on asking.
First a bit about the different plans. Briefly the current 'main' plan is Extra Easy. Taking your sample meal then a plate of food would have noodles, chicken and at least a third of a plate of stir fry veg. There is an express version called Extra Easy SP (Speed food and Protein) where the meal would be just half and half chicken and veg so no carb. The two 'old' plans are Red and Green. Green is like a vegetarian plan so any meat is synned. Red is a bit similar to EESP so plenty of meat and veg but any carbs have to be synned.
I'm assuming you're doing EE but will mention the other plans where you've asked.
I hope that helps but I'm sure others will be along with tips and advice very soon.:)
Thank you, much has been clarified by your post.
I will wait for the books, as you say, red and green is from the old system so that has thrown a spanner in my initial calculations.
Looks like we only calculate syns from the syns list, lets hope the books help me more.
I think this is good news, that means the calcs in the sample recipes are not far off.
I have been piling two thirds vegetables on my stir fry meals.
I intend to make the sea food meal rich in pasta, so one third seafood/sauce.
Just checked and Dried Pasta is a Free Food, is Gluten free spagetti/pasta from Kelkin Free Food too? I cannot find this info online.SW loss= 15.5kg / 2st 6.2lb0 -
Evening everyone
Welcome Amy and Smedley :wave:
Had a meh sort of day today - been to funeral of friend. Managed scrambled eggs for brekkie. At the reception afterward there was a fab looking buffet but I managed to restrain myself and settled for ham out of DH's sarnies, some pease pudd, mixed salad and some grapes. There was is lickle bit of choccie gateaux on the end of a fork too (taste testing purposes). Got back to Mums and had an apple. Then when I got home I shared SW ready meal (Salmon Pasta one mich had) and had half plate of salad with it followed by an activia yoghurt (2.5 syns). Have just put some baked oats (heb) in the oven with apple and pear. No idea how these will work out but I am giving them a go. Only used 50mls milk so think I will have a nice hot choccie before bed. Hopefully will be more organised for meals tomorrow.

I would say that it was just 'ok' mich.Taste wasn't unpleasant but a bit lacking and the salmon was a bit too mushed up for my liking. Wouldn't mind try making it ourselves.
Well done cte, djenks and all other losers :T
Jock - I think our consultant mentioned a competition next week (?) for the Greatest Loser - apparently there is no voting involved it is just the one who has lost the most. Be proud of those big losses btw
Nice smell coming from kitchen and oven is bleeping so off to inspect the oats :rotfl:
