Just realised I haven't posted my weight for this week, I lost 0.5 pounds. Very slow but at least in the right direction. I've decided to aim to lost another 6 pounds, to get to 3 stone loss overall then have a bit of a break. I'm finding it hard to stay motivated and might well come back after a few months, to try and lose a bit more.0

Can I ask jock, did you walking before losing weight or is this something new to you. If its new - its a bl00dy big NSV :T:T:T

I've been a walker for years, well a hiker. We did a 100km walk in 24 hours last August and walked 1200 miles in preperation, although I lost no weight. I was trying to lose weight but found myself exhausted so put it down to not having enough in the tank so ate loads of junk and big carby meals, in reality I'd have found the walk easier weighing 13st instead of the 16st i did when I started.
I moved last Feb to a house 3.5 miles from work, so started walking to work, but I would take the car a fair bit to start with.
Then my son started nursery and my wife needed the car full time to take him to nursery (its a mile each way and we have a baby, so 4 miles a day pushing a pram and dragging a 3 year old) so it was either get a second car, get the bus or walk every day without fail.
Being a cheapskate and needing the exercise I started walking every single day, 7 miles a day.
We haven't really done many long walks since the 100km, didn't really feel like it and my feet were damaged and lost interest without the desperate need to be prepared for it.
So now chucking in the occassional weekend long walk, 23 miles is the longest I've walked since August, we've been doing 16 miles due to the dark evenings. But we signed up to this as our friend needs the training for the Pennine way.
I think I need the combination of diet and exercise to get the good weight losses. Just walking didn't help much.
The one thing I have noticed since losing weight is I used to sweat when walking a lot. Now I've lost weight I don't sweat much at all and need a fleece, coat, gloves and hat to keep warm on the walk to work, never needed it before.
Our consultant never pushes the plans, she mentions them occassionally, never even tells you about the offers about getting books with a 12 week plan. I had to ask her and she had no idea.
She's also never texted me or bothered me which I like, although if I ever needed her she would be there.0 -
Hi, me again!
Just had a look on Iceland's website and a few of the meals would be good for SP if you have them with some speed veg - there's chicken pizzaiola, as mentioned before, plus chicken tikka, beef and vegetable crush (swede is speed isn't it?) and the meatballs.
LL
I think the Chicken Tikka has yoghurt in it, not a biggy but if you were complaining about not losing on SP they'd blame that0 -
Brilliant losses :T:T
Caterina - you could always make your own yogurt and then you'd know what was in it. If you use skimmed milk then it would be low fat...
I'm like jock - if I hadn't continued with group then i'd have given up, some weeks I don't go but I know that i'll still have to face the music at some point so I control myself more than I would if I wasn't accountable. And I think i'll be a member for life, like maman and lantanna I can't let this weight go back on once it's gone!
Our group doesn't have the consultant selling things either, but then she's being doing it for over a decade and has 6 groups so may be her income doesn't need substituting with extra sales. I'd definitely look around for a new group till you find that fits your needs..
Jock - I wouldn't worry too much about what you're eating at the weekend if you're doing a 23 mile walk!! i'm sure you'll burn it offsounds like you do masses of body magic :T
Denise - British cows are too fat???? :rotfl: may be they should be on SW too!!Anyone tried the SW "doughnuts"? Someone made them for our taster a couple of weeks ago. They weren't back but definitely not the real thing!
I can't imagine they are nice _pale_ i'd rather just have a bit of jam on a roll, than go to all that effort...
Fay - the peanut hottie - I use it mixed into quark as a peanut butter substitute.. had it on my oat pancakes the other day with a banana, I only use half a serving so it was 2 syns. Also used it to make a peanut butter cheesecake
Enjoy your harvester meg mmmm
mookie - looks like your not far off your target judging by your signature :T:T
The only ready meal I fancy trying is the beef one, it's looks nice, although OH said he's wants to try some. I might just make the beef one myself, recipe is on the SW website too, i'll pop it in a foil container and he can pretend it's the ready meal :rotfl:
I'm being posh today - I have some Fortnum and Mason tea leaves (gifted to us) and my little man tea diffuser turned up so I thought i'd try him.. he does put a smile on my face!
Menu today EE
B - biggest orange I've ever seen!
L - potato rostis, poached egg, 1 toast (heb)
T - OH wants something light so chicken, noodles, stir fry veg with a satay sauce (made from peanut hottie)
S - crisps (5) milk in tea (hea)

I'm up again I'm afraid, have let the side down on this challenge +2lbs please shala
It's been a stressful few weeks, relationship break up which has turned a bit nasty.. Daughter lost her job and council cuts to our department meaning half of our team could be downgraded and wages cut.. Meals have been on plan as always but comfort eating bad habits have crept back in..
Have put 7lbs on since my lowest weight I got to just after Xmas, am back up to 13st.. I never wanted to see those numbers again so the line has to be drawn now!
Am doing a food diary and recording everything honestly this week.. Have to get back to being active too.. My fitbit is telling me I'm a lazy mare
Not tried any of the meals as yet, heard the sausages are like quorn ones, will be giving them a swerve if so.. Like the look of the salmon f..f.. fal.. Bows!will have to look up the recipe for that to make fresh.
Anyway, that's about it.. :rotfl:0 -

Was sitting here already to be picked up to go to Birmingham for a Harvester meal with my brother and sil when DD phones to say its off, my brother had mixed the dates up and has it down for next Friday.
So now need to get changed back into jeans and top and find something for dinner. Think I will try the SW Beef in red onion gravy to save messing around.
But was so looking forward to a mixed grill.Slimming World at target0 -
The Singapore Noodles like Meg72 said had a watery sauce I also microwaved mine . Before I served them I drained most of the sauce off didn't see the need for all that on my plate. The meal itself was ok the chicken tasted a bit bland no taste. Poppy ate quite a few pieces the chicken. The prawns where very nice she didn't see any of those
Was expecting the noodles to be roundish but they where flattish but very enjoyable. Good job I didn't find it awful because I bought 2 of these

jockosjungle wrote: »I go to group and pay a fiver a week, plus a quid for a raffle ticket. If I was doing it on my own I'd have given up by now, been going 20 weeks and the weekly weigh in keeps me vaguely on plan. Obviously groups are different, we do a lot of going round the room and little ese, I quite like it. There is very little hard sell on product placement. Our consultant is very nice and supportive and the group is wanting us all to lose weight and supports each other. If you're doing it on your own, nobody really cares but you, I'd have given up long ago.
In other news I'm doing a 23 mile walk at the weekend, and not sure what to do about syns. It's a challenge walk and at certain checkpoints there will be food, almost certainly off plan - cake, biscuits, etc. Also a meal at the end, usually hotpot and peas or similar so can easily miss that.
However I am concerned about general energy needs, will be taking some pasta salad and fruit, and generally what I can. But it's always a bit light on a good bit of energy requirement.
Any ideas? Or should I just sneak a bit of cake and hope the body magic is enough not to show on the scales? I've never done a proper challenge walk on SW before (but do walk decent distances), it's not quite a race but I don't want to run on empty.
Jocks my husband is doing SW and also runs half marathons  On these days he has porridge for breakfast, a banana just before the run begins, midget gems (3 for £1) or haribo on the way round and he rewards himself at the end with a bag of chocolate raisins.Weight loss 0/2st

Enjoy your walk jocks!
Hugs to mich, sounds like you need them at the moment but glad you are drawing your line.
I weighed myself todayBut it was at my SILs house so I have no idea whether her scales are right or wrong. Which just makes it worse cos I'm having to resist the urge to check against mine. Perhaps I'll get hubby to put them in the shed with the spiders :rotfl:
I go to class. I like my consultant, and there's some lovely people in my class and I find I really care about how they are doing tooIt's a bit embarassing some weeks because I'm the biggest loser there, but I've learned to roll with it!
Before SW my go-to snack was probably bread and butter. I love chocolate, but that's not something I would have every single day (more of a binge food), but white bread and butter I love. It's what usually gets me when I go off plan, I have a sudden craving for it and can't get enough. I've eaten one slice this week - well within my syns - and all that was left was the nobbies so they've gone in the bin!
