Good morning all. Congrats on your loss beanie, that's brilliant :j
I need to go shopping this morning as we've not got much in. On the plus side of that we haven't got any snacks eitherI'll try and get some things for the children that I won't eat so there's no temptation in my way
Hubby decided he wants the last of the chilli tonight so I've hoofed that out the freezer to have with some SW chips, and I'll make cottage pie tomorrow. Not sure what I'm eating during today but will do everything I can to stay on track.
I'm not sure about the no weighing at home but I'm trying to resist. I think there's an element of it reassuring me that I'm doing okay (but not great) so I cheat a bit thinking it'll be fine. If I don't weigh I've no idea whether things are getting better or not. Will see how long I can hold out, but thinking it would be nice to make it to WI on Tuesday and get a surprise (but it'd better be a good one!).:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Well done Tweets and other losers!!!!!Oh, and I'm trying not to weigh myself either. No idea whether that will last... perhaps I should be giving up the scales for lent!
Good luck - that is not going to work with me though - I am a numbers addict...
So, last night's dinner was off the plan. Got stressed, tired, lost my patience, all at once. Picked up kids from nursery, we went to Aldi and as soon as my son was let out of the car he ran off in a car park. I got really upset, managed to catch him (he is really very fast!!!!! and I am very slow...). So, he was dumped into trolley and we went to get few bits. I really fancied KFC, but we don't have one in our village, and usually I am not a fan of it anyway, but for some reason I really wanted it last night. So, we bought pieces of frozen chicken from Aldi, put them in the oven when we got home, I made potato chips in the oven too and sort of coleslaw with cabbage, carrot and apple and mix of vlf mayo and ff yogurt for dresssing. Not as bad as KFC dinner, but not the syn-free food as was planned on the menu (the stew will be for tonight now). But then I also had a glass of wine, which is not something I have very often (I don't like wine very much, but yesterday I felt I needed it...)
My son again would not eat his veg, so I resorted to the living room after awhile as I had no patience left and OH stayed with him at the table trying to get him to take one bite of veg (that is all we were asking him!) Me and DD watched simpsons and then some other cartoons for a while before DS was allowed to leave the dining room!
Well, hoping for a better day today...
Menu:
B: baked oats with frozen fruit, coffee (HeA and HeB)
L: possibly salad.stew (all only S and P foods)

Wow.....some amazing losses on the group!! Well done!!!! :j:j
Today is day 3 of the no bread challenge, and despite there being a fruit loaf in the bread bin (orange fruit loaf no less, which is AMAZING) I have so far resisted
Big day at college, got to do a presentation which I am dreading, but the good news is that at 4pm it'll all be over and I wont need to worry about it any more!!
B Weetabix, (hexa and b) plum and nectarine
L Soup and salad in the canteen at college, or baked spud
D Not sure but something amazing after this afternoon!!
Syns will def involve chocolate!!
Have a fab day everyone xxxx0 -
Loved the review Tweets! Keep them coming! Interesting to read and loved the pic! The Singapore Noodles is probably the one I would go for if I was eating one so I'm interested in hearing about that. 11 mins though in the microwave - that seems quite long though or is it just me!!! I don't often post my menus either and do things my own way as well, its working so just keep doing it! Maman I had cheese & chocolate last night as well, but it was chocolate Thursday after all!! The red wine also came out it was essential for watching who had killed Lucy I felt!! :rotfl: Daisy - Day 2 No Bread Here :T No Idea what is going on here but its not letting me set this out the way I want.... Oh I almost forgot 0.5 lb off this week for me. Planning for a good week ahead so the pancakes don't catch up with me!!0

Good morning,
I am finding it interesting that a few people are saying "no bread", because that's what I am trying to do, too. Bread tends to bloat me and one slice is never enough, I get the 800g loaves so it is only 1 for hex. Am giving myself a break, though, and got ryvitas, they don't upset my stomach and 4 are a very reasonable portion.
May I ask, how many of you follow SW just here and how many go to groups? I am not sure whether to spend £5 per week just to be weighed, the talks go on my nerves a bit, with all that product placement and cheerfulness! But the encouragement also goes a long way towards keeping me on plan. I have decided to go back next week, but not sure whether to buy a course of 6 - not bothered with 12 and the recipe book, too big an investment - or to just quit. Advice and comments welcome and gratefully received.
Ok, today's plan:
B. Lindamac sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and a poached egg.
L. Pasta with tomato sauce and 40g reduced fat cheddar, grated (hex), salad with tbsp oil (6 syns), apple.
D. Chick pea and veg casserole with quinoa.
Not sure about snacks, depends on how the day goes, might have my usual synny yogurt, the syn amount will be dependent on what I put in it. I could put hazelnuts and it would be my 2nd hex, and strawberries, or marmalade for extra 2 syns.
When I finish this batch I am going to start buying commercial yogurt, if I get good quality stuff it tastes nice even low fat (won't buy fat free - yuck) and I saw that some of the fruit and the soya ones don't carry too many syns, probably less than adding marmalade, and less sugar, I would hope.
Does anyone know what low or very low fat yogurts are free of artificial sweeteners, please? That's my main worry about buying diet ptoducts, the aspartame, acesulfame and the chemistry set that manufacturers throw into foodstuff! Thank you.
Ok, off to breakfast now. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Caterina - I go to group, I've been a member for 2 years. I lost 6.7 stone in just over a year and always stayed to group. I just go and get weighed now. Sadly I have to be accountable to somebody or I'll just run wild :rotfl:
Its different strokes for different folks. I'm at saturation point with SW now and have developed lots of issues about SW in general - don't start me lol. :rotfl:
However I did find that when I was losing staying to group really helped me remain focused etc and I enjoyed it. I'd be interested to know the length of time of an average member, I suspect a lot of people end up like me - feeling a bit fed up and at saturation point and just leave. But I am 100 % certain I will not be one of those people that regains all of the weight - hence I like to keep my hand in and go and get weighed even though it can all seem like a bit of a chore at times.
Its whatever you think will work for you though some people like going to group some people don't. You always have the forum if you find going to group isn't for you.
Re Bread - I love it, really love it but I personally find when I am eating it regularly it stalls my weightloss and I can't seem to get enough of it, the more I have, the more I want so sadly I am best having it on special occasions etc. Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with bread it can be a good source of fibre etc but for me it just doesn't allow me to maintain the weight I want. Again different things for different people! I swear they put something in it to make me think I need more than one slice in a sitting lol0 -

Still reading away and keeping up with ye all. Have just discovered choc shots and baked oats yesterday ( although not together yet) both are set to become firm favourites.SPC #352

I go to group and pay a fiver a week, plus a quid for a raffle ticket. If I was doing it on my own I'd have given up by now, been going 20 weeks and the weekly weigh in keeps me vaguely on plan. Obviously groups are different, we do a lot of going round the room and little ese, I quite like it. There is very little hard sell on product placement. Our consultant is very nice and supportive and the group is wanting us all to lose weight and supports each other. If you're doing it on your own, nobody really cares but you, I'd have given up long ago.
In other news I'm doing a 23 mile walk at the weekend, and not sure what to do about syns. It's a challenge walk and at certain checkpoints there will be food, almost certainly off plan - cake, biscuits, etc. Also a meal at the end, usually hotpot and peas or similar so can easily miss that.
However I am concerned about general energy needs, will be taking some pasta salad and fruit, and generally what I can. But it's always a bit light on a good bit of energy requirement.
Any ideas? Or should I just sneak a bit of cake and hope the body magic is enough not to show on the scales? I've never done a proper challenge walk on SW before (but do walk decent distances), it's not quite a race but I don't want to run on empty.0 -
Jocks, what about having porridge or a SW cooked breakfast early that morning, Bananas and Alpen Lights would be good for the way round. How long will it take?0
