:T to lush and all other losers.

Sending a big hug to all the poorlies too, there seem so many. Not seen denise for a couple of days either?

Thanks for doing the chart shala, although I don't participate myself I think it's great that we have our own virtual group on here including those that fall by the wayside just like in RL!

Don't forget its New ready meals in Iceland from Slimming world and sausages which are free on plan tomorrow

Thanks for doing the experiment tweets. I'm interested to hear what they're like and may then copy the recipes myself. I think SW are doing this first and foremost for the marketing opportunity so they don't lose out to WW but also because there are people who say they're so busy that they have to grab and go.

That's great being at your lightest ever crabapple. Considering you've just gone back to work you're doing really well. It does take a bit of effort to meal plan, shop and cook but I think longer term it saves time dithering.

on behalf of SW I apologise :rotfl: ;)

ermm I can't imagine the "recipe" has changed that much for a dried prune so i'd carry on with your 80g... isn't it just a plum dried - maybe we're missing something *confused*

I think it's probably the same reason as some fruits have been removed from the Speed list. SW are realising that if people eat loads of sugary fruit they aren't losing as they might.

    My EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: JP, cottage cheese, spring onions, pickles
D: sausages (2), carrot & swede mash, cauli, broccoli,
Syns: sausages, gravy, squirt of syrup

If you need the recipes just ask and I will take pic for you and post. Glad the meals are bigger than WW ones they looked small in freezer next to SW :D.

I will be having the sweet potato curry tomorrow . Just had a thought if I remember that is. Would I get in trouble if I took pic of meal cooked on my plate with recipe underneath and posted on here ?

I don't want to get the thread into trouble ;)

Not gonna make swimming today. Too much housework to do and don't wanna wear myself out. Started the day off well with a bowl of shreddies tho.... Instead of a couple of biscuits and packet of crisps that I have been eating! Lol.

The sweet potato curry sounds nice... But there is no Iceland anywhere here!!!! Might have to find a recipe and make it myself. I really love sweet potatoes...

  • Just took a look at the Tikka one I bought, wow there is loads of meat in it. I thought it would be a rice/meat style one, but it's just the meat and hence there is easy enough for two.

They all seem to say, serve with rice and veg. I'd have thought the point of a ready meal is for lazy folks who cannot be bothered cooking, seems little point in eating a ready meal if you've also got to cook rice and veg.

Our consultant was saying that they should be served with extra veg. If I was cooking a ready meal I'd probably go with a microwave veg bag so it was all no effort :D I always have some in the freezer because it's an easy way to add veg to meals, especially when I eat with my kids in the day and my daughter just wants pasta with cheese on!

Tweets will kindly take a picture of the recipe for you Ginvt I'm sure

See Jocks I've just been onto the Iceland website and investigated them. Going from the nutritional info provided I'd def say that these are for splitting in two and or adding too which doesn't really help anybody who is buying them to eat on their own and not share as you can't split the portion and its frozen.

I look forward to the reviews though:rotfl:
  • Bought two of the SW meals today - the Tikka one and the Hot Smoked Salmon Pasta one. DH is in agreement with you jock - expected rice to be in with the Tikka. They have redeemed themselves with size of pack though especially if it can be shared with another. ;) Would have like to have tried the Singapore Noodles, Sausages and Meatballs but they were nowhere to be seen.

Looking forward to your reviews tweets.

As its Ash Wednesday today - we are meat-free here and served DS Linda McCartneys sausages at lunchtime. He loves his meat but ........ he said these meat-free sausages 'weren't too bad' - result :j:rotfl: They beat SW sausages hands down on price so SW are going to have to be bloomin good to warrant the extra pennies (£1.50 a pack actually) :rotfl:

    Hello,

I am so upset, been to the SW group and it is even worse than I feared, at 13st 8lb, it means 86.2 Kg. I had vowed never to go over 85kg then over 80 Kg, as I lost weight the last time. This is what a year of massive stress and building work in the house has done to me.

No, I have done it to myself in reality, but the situations haven't helped.

So I have started eating a la SW. I did not have any breakfast because I started work early with the little boy, but I can't envisage having breakfast before WI anyway, as I have found a group that starts at 9:30, which is nice. I don't think I am going to stay, the cheerfulness goes on my nerves in a major way! And the fact that she obviously recites from a script and pushes products.

How many more books and booklets do you get after the first class, anything worth going for?

Anyway, I found that it is very different from the olden days of red and green, and I can only get 1 each of the HEs, why? It used to be 2! Am I missing something? I still have the old books, can I use them? If it worked then, why all the changes? Am puzzled.

It looks like I need to start reconsidering the no-fish policy, I will have to get a few smoked salmon breakfasts in, and tins of mackerel in tomato sauce, or I won't be able to get enough fats in to feel full.

Can I use yogurt instead of milk and cheese? I only take full fat so I could make it a substantial breakfast, with 16 almonds (LOL) and blueberries.

    So much to remember.

    Anyway, daily plan:

Brunch: 3 egg omelette (tiny spray of oil with mister so not counting) cooked in a non stick pan with mounds of steamed greens and finished under the grill, 1/2 tin baked beans, 4 dry fried mushrooms, 1 apple.

Was still hungry (no fat, bound to be!) so had a snack: 100 g full fat HM yogurt (1.5 syn) with 10 almonds (leaves me 6 almonds to complete my HEb later) and 2 tsps marmalade (1 syn). Feeling better.

Dinner will be mounds of steamed veg with veggie sausages or mince in tomato sauce, will calculate syns later when I see what sausages am using, or might cook them with lentils too and turn them into a casserole, with mashed swede or squash to top. See how it goes.

Off shopping for a bit of variety in the fridge now.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
