    sw_zps5bcddabd.png

I've had another cull of people who haven't posted their results in the last two weeks.. please let me know if I've took you off mistakenly and i'll add you back on :D

Thank you for the new chart Shala :D

How on earth did I end up SOTW?! Ha no chance of a repeat of that one and I won't be hitting my 11lb challenge target either

Today has not been grand - missed breakfast as was running around grtting a shower and sorting out wonder bairn and bf before I left for work. Then I grabbed two cooked sausages from the hot counter in the supermarket (daren't even think of syns :( and I've had a Batchelors deli box noodles (chicken flavour) for lunch which I think is 2syns? maybe more I guess and tonight I won't be eating until gone 9pm as we are at rugby 4pm-8.15pm with a match so no time at all to eat any earlier so we are getting a take away to be ready for our return :/ I can only hope that plenty of fluids has shifted some water weight!

Ho hum weigh in in the morning then its the start of a new week. We are at a league weekend this weekend so it's harvester for tea on Friday (all SW friendly except the ice cream I may have as a treat), two hotel breakfasts (they don't have any heb choice cereals plus with it being a long day of mooching/shouting/sorting rugby chairs etc I usually have 2 sausage, scrambled egg and beans which is probably all my syns for the day :/) a Tesco meal deal for lunch on the Saturday (no idea what on the Sunday) and Harvester again (though take away so much easier to be good!) Saturday night! will have to be extra specially good next week I think!

We have also heard today that bf has been selected for not one but two of the big competitive trips coming up with the GB elite squad which means a trip to Finland then from there straight on to Japan, three weeks away in total! I'm so flipping jealous! Originally we'd spoken about me and Wonder Bairn possibly flying over to Japan too but I don't think that's feasible anymore so we will hopefully take her when she's older I guess :/

I think I may take a few days off in those three weeks and take wonder bairn to our caravan - pretty sure they are April/May/possibly June at a push so I don't have to worry about learning to drain it down etc though I may get bf's family to watch the dog so I'm not having to walk him later on at night and take baby with us. I'll just take swimming stuff, a few clothes and some food oh and my sewing stuff and we can have a few days escape that way. She's lots of fun now she's cruising and getting ready for walking etc then I can sew etc when I'm on my own of a night after she goes down - lots of walking in to the local town and back, swimming if I dare take her alone in a strange pool(!) and generally relaxing. Oh and bf just got me a sizzix machine so that would come too to play with :)

Just tried a SW sausage with tomato on wholemeal roll. I really liked the sausage but don't like the price so wont be buying them Often. I also bought the Singapore noodles, chicken pizzaila and beef in red onion onion crush with veg crush.

I wasn't going to buy any meals but it occurred to me that this is a cheap way to try a recipe to see if I like it rather than go to the expensive of making one and finding out its not to my taste.

Shala sorry forgot to post STS for the chart yesterday, I didn't get back in time to go and WI and my scales do show a loss but will go with STS until I can weigh in properly.

    Afternoon

Interesting to read about the SW ready meals, they sound quite good as a standby and I quite like the fact that you have to do rice and veg separately - normal ready meals never have enough rice for DH so I usually end up supplementing them.

There's an Iceland here in Spain, I wonder if they've got them in. It's about 15 miles from here so I'm not going to make a special journey, but if I'm in the area I might check it out.

Thanks for the chart Shala and well done Lush for SOTW :T

Well done to everyone else whether you lost, stayed the same or gained, give yourselves a big pat on the back for sticking with it. :T

Anyway, I found that it is very different from the olden days of red and green, and I can only get 1 each of the HEs, why? It used to be 2! Am I missing something? I still have the old books, can I use them? If it worked then, why all the changes? Am puzzled.

Hi Caterina - your post reminds me of myself when I first did Sw more than 10 years ago and felt like I had to completely re-think everything I bought and ate. That was when it was only red and green days and EE and SP hadn't been invented and it did work, but it was more difficult.

There's no reason why you can't use your old books and follow the plan you did before, if it worked then it will work now. However, EE is effective and much easier as you can have 'normal' meals like chilli and rice or spag Bol. The challenge is to incorporate plenty of fruit and veg from the speed food list.

Am I right in thinking you're vegetarian? If so, I think the green plan would still suit you best and you'd be able to have 2 HEBs. Full fat yogurt doesn't meet SW criteria as a HE, but you can have it as syns.

There's plenty of advice available here on the thread so keep asking questions, someone will be able to help.

Back soon, hopefully slightly less snotty!

Lovely chatty post lush. Shame about the Japan trip but at least you've got something planned to look forward too. I always steer clear of hotel sausages. On Monday I had melon & grapefruit followed by fried eggs, bacon, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms. The only syns were in the bread which I counted as HEB although probably brown not wholemeal, oil for frying eggs and I chose to have black pudding as a treat.;)

I've written comments on your post caterina. :T for getting started.

    Hello,

I am so upset, been to the SW group and it is even worse than I feared, at 13st 8lb,

That's exactly where I started. I got to my 10st 7 target in 10 months. It can be done!!

, but I can't envisage having breakfast before WI anyway, as I have found a group that starts at 9:30, which is nice. I don't think I am going to stay, the cheerfulness goes on my nerves in a major way! And the fact that she obviously recites from a script and pushes products.

How many more books and booklets do you get after the first class, anything worth going for?

The set you get on your first day is it unless you choose to buy any recipe books. Many people take breakfast to class but it'll probably be exactly the same week in week out.

Anyway, I found that it is very different from the olden days of red and green, and I can only get 1 each of the HEs, why? It used to be 2! Am I missing something? I still have the old books, can I use them? If it worked then, why all the changes? Am puzzled.

One of each HEA and B is the Extra Easy Plan. You can have more on Green and EESP. I really think tweaking Green to suit you would be best except for on fish days and even then it's workable.

It looks like I need to start reconsidering the no-fish policy, I will have to get a few smoked salmon breakfasts in, and tins of mackerel in tomato sauce, or I won't be able to get enough fats in to feel full.

On Green you can have fish but it counts as either syns or a HEB.

Can I use yogurt instead of milk and cheese? I only take full fat so I could make it a substantial breakfast, with 16 almonds (LOL) and blueberries.

Full fat yogurt you'll have to syn. AFAIK only cheese and milk count as HEAs. There are 'better' fruits recommended than blueberries. Take a look on the Speed list.

    So much to remember.

    Anyway, daily plan:

Brunch: 3 egg omelette (tiny spray of oil with mister so not counting) cooked in a non stick pan with mounds of steamed greens and finished under the grill, 1/2 tin baked beans, 4 dry fried mushrooms, 1 apple.

Was still hungry (no fat, bound to be!) so had a snack: 100 g full fat HM yogurt (1.5 syn) with 10 almonds (leaves me 6 almonds to complete my HEb later) and 2 tsps marmalade (1 syn). Feeling better.

Dinner will be mounds of steamed veg with veggie sausages or mince in tomato sauce, will calculate syns later when I see what sausages am using, or might cook them with lentils too and turn them into a casserole, with mashed swede or squash to top. See how it goes.

So far this could easily be a Green day or sort of EESP (as you seem to have gone for no carbs) but I'd go for Green. Quorn mince is free but the veggie sausages vary in syns. So that leaves you another HEB and one (on EESP) or two (on Green) HEAs.

Off shopping for a bit of variety in the fridge now.

A purist would say you shouldn't have free foods on EESP. So no free Quorn mince and I've heard that substituting synned yogurt for free low fat stuff is a bit of a cheat. But I wouldn't worry about that. Good luck!!

No not pre cooked need to be done in oven or grilled. I thought they were very nice, a proper meaty sausage, 79% Pork.
