Sorry not had time to read or post properly over the last week or so and this week's going to be just as hectic!

Well done to all the losers STSers and keep plodding those who gained. I'm doing OK synwise up to today but things will probably go a bit awry over the next few days until WI day on Thursday as my sister is arriving around lunchtime today, we're going to France for the day tomorrow (including a 3 course lunch with wine!) and then off to Wisley (gardens) on Wednesday.

My sister is bringing tonight's dinner with her as she made a huge shepherds pie at the weekend thinking we (me, DH & her) were going to eat at her house on Wednesday night (obviously she was freezing it for a couple of days!). However I don't think it will have the amount of veg in it that I usually put - probably just onions & garlic!

Had originally planned for a Green day today but have now had to change to EE:

B - fried up potatoes, LO veg & dry fried egg
L - not sure yet but possibly ham salad sandwich (HEB + 0.5 for mayo)
D - shepherds pie, brocolli, green beans. Will syn 1.5 for gravy as suspect the shepherds pie gravy will have been made with gravy granules (but I don't add any extra gravy).

Probably won't manage to get on for the next couple of days so good luck to everyone who is weighing in over the next couple of days.

Mich - i've never tried a tagine before, the apricots scare me :rotfl: can you taste them? i love lamb and spice so i think it's just the apricot that puts me off...
I'm not a massive fan of them either but they give a nice bit of sweetness to it, I cut them up smaller so not massive bits

Mich - glad to hear the tagine is lovely DD2 and her fiance are coming to dinner on Thursday and it's what I plan to make for us all. I'll also make a pudding, but won't have any of that - I saw someone make a Nutella crown over the weekend and so want to have a go at it, so that may be what they get
Are you using the recipe from the website? Last time I did it in the slow cooker but tried the tagine this time and preferred it.. I always use too much liquid in the slow cooker! :o

I didn't add sweetener as stated on their recipe and used some ras-el-hanout spice and chilli powder too :)
  • I tried the SW Pulled Pork, it was really nice but a bit dry which I think was our massive slow cookers fault, so added a few syns of BBQ sauce.

All this talök about lamb tagine... I love tagine and lamb, and apricots and might have to go for lamb hunting to get some (lamb here is rather scarce and costs a fortune...)

    Then the pulled pork....

And I am sitting here eating my plain salad with barely any vinegar on and dreaming about nice piece of meat!

Well done on the scratchcard Daisy, someone in my local shop won £250,000 on one last weekend. I never buy them. Maybe I should start.

Good effort, Whiplashy, enjoy your break.

    Well done, hstsocem and SeaBee.

Well, shala, I lost 2lbs this week. I think the loss of appetite counteracted all the bad things I had.

    Today I am planning

Breakfast: baked beans (that is all - nothing else in house at moment)
    Snack: choc digestive (4 syns)
Lunch: hm tomato soup, tired pear
Dinner: hm macaroni cheese using hexa cheese (8.5 syns), beetroot, hexb toast (if I get out to buy some bread or make some)

That leaves 2.5 syns to play with. We'll see.

Thanks, Lantanna. I wish I took a picture of her as I left, but we were in a bit of a rush and she hates when we take pictures of her, so it didn't happen...

It's a toss up between the one on the sw website and the BBC Good Food one. I will be home all day Thursday but I am painting doors, so will probably just throw everything in the slow cooker

Lantanna It looks very impressive, but quite easy to do. Nutella Crown
