Hi whiplashy.. I follow a few online members on Instagram, am sure they said you get a PDF download of the new pack.. Not sure where you access that though.. Welcome on board ;)

Can't sleep.. Been tossing and turning for hours!

Thanks mich_city :) Today's mission...locate that PDF! Would it have really been that much bother for them to email us a link to it?! The website is so badly designed it's probably going to take ages to find.

Going to make a big pot of speed soup later on for my lunch for the week. I've got a couple of stupid questions first if someone would be so kind as to help:A I'm going to add red lentils for the P but I've never used them before. Roughly how much lentils do I allow per serving and will the soup still be okay to freeze? Also when do I add the lentils? I usually blend my soup, so is it okay to have the lentils in at that stage or are they supposed to be left whole?

Morning all, I've been off plan again :o - too many temptations at this time of year of course. Back to work on Monday so that will put me straight, I hope.

I also weigh in on Monday so I expect another gain, possibly even a horrible one! Not a great start to the challenge, maybe, but I'll be on it with a passion from next week.

It's great to have so many lovely people to share this with, thanks and good luck to all!

I don't use lentils in soup, but I add them to slow cooker meals every time. I use about half to one cupful of red lentils to a medium sized slow cooker, and either bung them in dry or add them to the stock to soak for a few minutes. Either way works fine, and I like them to disintegrate and thicken the pot so I let them cook all the way.

You can sieve them out and blend the soup then re-add them, if you want their texture, or just blend 'em in. They're great!

I'm not sure how many you should add to make the P portion up for the new plan though... maybe someone more knowledgeable has that info!

    Hiya

I presume no-one heard Katy Hopkins on Radio 2 yesterday, but what she was talking about was both interesting and infuriating. She purposely gained 4st in weight and then lost it again to prove that fat people can get slim if they want to.

There's a link to the story in the Telegraph here

On the radio, she wasn't interested in anyone else's point of view and refused to acknowledge that some people (like her) are naturally slim because of their metabolism, but other people aren't so lucky.

I don't think the experiment was either scientific or helpful to overweight people, and I really hope that it has screwed up her metabolism so she struggles to maintain her weight! :D

    What do you think?

  • I watched the tv programme last night (part1) and found her a bit patronising. Tonight she has 3 months to lose it all. Interestingly she was too thin (medically) when she started and her body fat was waaay too low. Whatever the result of her experiment, I think she will say it was really easy and all fatties need to do is eat less and move more. She did however note that her comfort was running marathons and being v sporty and she could understand that bigger people used food as their comfort and could understand the pain and angst of that being taken away.
    Today's plan EE
    Hea milk
Heab 2 hovis slices from 400g loaf
    Brunch scrambled egg on toast
Dinner chicken curry with rice packed with veg. Pear and mullerlight
Snacks gin and slimline, grapes and apple
    Have a good day.

Hmm she's a strange character. A person's body state is the result of such complex interactions between psychology, physiology, inheritance and environment that her "experiment" couldn't hope to make any kind of useful contribution to understanding.

All it will do is reinforce some unhelpful and unpleasant attitudes towards body image.

We all know how to lose weight - as has already been said, if it were that simple we'd all be willow wands.

To me Katy Hopkins is. like an attention seeking naughty toddler, best ignored until they learn to behave better so I wont be listening or watching her latest me, me,me and more me antics.
