B_E_G - that market stall sounds fantastic. Our market is rubbish - all the fruit and veg is a £1 a bowl - so you need to spend quite a bit to get a good variety. I find it better to go to the SM and pick a selection of different fruits & veg.

We went out to dinner last night at a local restaurant as DH had a late appointment. I thought we were going to Weatherspoons and I'd picked out what I was going to have which would have been on plan but the place we went to had a "steak night" so I ended up having chips:eek: and couple of glasses of wine - so I have used up more than an extra day's worth of syns.

It was fab denise. We have got about 8 good sized fruit salad portions (shared with mum and DH). I don't think it was have lasted too long but by the time we all have some it doesn't last long anyway.

When I ordered my toastie in W'Spoons yesterday I didn't know that it was coming with chips - honest :o). I ate about two thirds of them and felt quite virtuous by doing that :rotfl::rotfl: DH said today that it was good to see me having something off plan and getting back on it. Didn't realise I had become such a bloomin SW bore :rotfl: The trip yesterday was all part of marking Dad's anniversary and I said to mum that toastie was for Dad - he would have loved it (just for the record it was very nice) :o

Cheese is dependant, its normally 30g of full fat cheese like cheddar, a general rule seems to be the softer it is the more you can have. So you can have 40g of feta, quite a lot of light philadelphia, 70g I think.

ASDA do quite a nice reduced fat cheddar which you can have 40g of, quite cheap as well, about £4.50 a kg.

It's my birthday today so we're having SW Pulled Pork, never had it before so hope its nice.

Happy Birthday Jock - hope you have a good one. Yum Yum Pulled Pork - one of my favourites. Have what you fancy today and get back on it tomorrow.

Off to hairdressers - long session - highlights, cut and blow so just had one of the aforementioned bowls of fruit salad with yoghurt to ward off the hunger pangs.

Catch up with you all when I get back.

2lbs off for me this week please Shala.
Off to Brighton for a Valentines treat so will indulge a bit but no stressing about it. Life is for living right?!!

Ooh I like Brighton, had a lovely Thai meal there last time in a restaurant called Giggly Squid!

It seems cruel to tell you about my M&S Valentines choices lantanna but since you asked it's another 'could be worse' meal. Lots of choices based on what my DH likes. So Thai fishcakes (I'd have gone seafood), steak, garlic mushrooms (based on life's too short reasoning) and I'll add some more sides of my own, profiteroles plus bubbly and chocolates.

Happy Birthday jock. I'm having pulled pork too but the Tesco variety.;)

Thank you, wow it gets complicated!

You'll soon get the hang of it, especially when you have your books to read and just keep asking. Like crabapple said, just because carbs are allegedly free then it doesn't mean you have to stuff yourself with them. One thing the introduction of SP (and it's only been a month or so, so it's new to all of us) has done is to make me mindful of how many carbs I'm adding to a meal. If I can come up with an SP alternative now and again I will (I had carrot and swede rather than potato and swede mash last night). I suspect that many of your menus will look Green and then you can take advantage of the extra HEAs (cheese) and HEBs (crackers).

shortie, The syns for 100g of pureed fruit are: orange and blueberry 2 but apple 1.5. Just curious but I noticed you synned gravy with your chilli and yesterday that someone had done the same with Bolognese. Is this the sauce for your meal or extra? Just asking as it's so easy to make these dishes syn free.

I'm still a bit vague on today's menu as need to do some shopping and sort out meal plan.

    EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, kippers, HEB bread (tried the Ian Rankin), HEA milk
    L: apple??not hungry yet
D: pulled pork, tomato, peas probably with mushrooms and some sort of potato
Syns: scrape of spread, wine syns and depends whether I succumb to oven chips.

Edited to add: no quorn for me but I eat MrT or MrS own brand vege stuff, sausages, meatballs etc. happy to explore alternatives and Linda Mac as well, whatever works and has less syns.

The Linda McCartney rosemary & red onion sausages are very nice and also free :) I don't know about the own brand ones as I don't buy them but if you post the names we can have a look at syns online for you.

Thank you Jockosjungle, happy birthday, hope you enjoy pulled pork (and everything else in your celebration day)!

Thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday, sitting at work atm.

Wife has found a Delia Smith cake recipe that she thinks is 4 syns per quarter, she is probably right. It might taste ok being DS as well.
