Morning folks - well done losers and Lois on your 1.5 shiney :T
Off to Sainsbobs this morning and I assure you the bill will be nowhere near £200  - even adding on tomorrow's Lidl spend (that's creeping up to £20 each week) and adding on any top ups through the week. Where do they get these people from. Daren't even think about how much income they have if they were spending that much on grub alone.
Went on a little jaunt with DH through the week and they had a little market stall with fruit and veg and the prices were fantastic. We got a bag full of stuff for about £4 - it included boxes of strawberries, rasps, nectarines, grapes and blueberries. We have had lovely fruit salads (more like the ones we have in summer when prices are cheaper) and had it with sweetened yoghurt and it has been delish. Will be watching the amount of fruit I am having once all this has gone as I don't think too much of the natural sugar is too good when it comes to weigh-ins.
Have a good day eveyone and will pop back later for a catch up.

2lbs off for me this week please Shala.
Off to Brighton for a Valentines treat so will indulge a bit but no stressing about it. Life is for living right?!!0 -
Thank you Mich_city and Maman, I am sure that the Woman's Own I saw did not have that cover, maybe they still have the old one on sale there. I shall have another search.
Crabapple I managed to lose a lot of weight and kept it off for two years on a low carb (medium protein) diet, as a vegetarian with a bit of fish thrown in (pulling faces)! The EESP looks like it has a lot more stuff I can eat, all those beans, chick peas and lentils, the only concern I have is the very low fat content. How much olive oil can I have with 15 syns? And how much cheese in the Healthy Extras? If I can have these two foods plus all in the list I should be SORTED!
My challenge is to eliminate cakey things, biscuits and generally all sugar content. That has become my downfall and my go-to comfort food, which inevitably leads to binges because of the blood sugar crashes.
When I had eliminated all starchy and sugary foods (but still ate a decent amount of carbs in vegetables) my blood sugar was much more stable, but I would not like to go back to that way of eating because I am concerned about too much fat.
Off to search Woman's Own now! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Cheese is dependant, its normally 30g of full fat cheese like cheddar, a general rule seems to be the softer it is the more you can have. So you can have 40g of feta, quite a lot of light philadelphia, 70g I think.
ASDA do quite a nice reduced fat cheddar which you can have 40g of, quite cheap as well, about £4.50 a kg.
It's my birthday today so we're having SW Pulled Pork, never had it before so hope its nice.0 -
Happy Birthday Jocks!!0

B_E_G - that market stall sounds fantastic. Our market is rubbish - all the fruit and veg is a £1 a bowl - so you need to spend quite a bit to get a good variety. I find it better to go to the SM and pick a selection of different fruits & veg.
Congratulations LL on your virtual shiny:j:j:j
We went out to dinner last night at a local restaurant as DH had a late appointment. I thought we were going to Weatherspoons and I'd picked out what I was going to have which would have been on plan but the place we went to had a "steak night" so I ended up having chips:eek: and couple of glasses of wine - so I have used up more than an extra day's worth of syns.
Will definitely need to cut back on the syns a bit between now and Thursday - but will still be having some wine syns over the weekend:rotfl::rotfl:.
Friday is usually a "junk" type meal (but SW friendly:A) so that'll mean chips again!
B - Fruit & yoghurt
L - scrambled eggs on toast (HEB); banana
D - burger (0.5), chips, corn on the cob, baked beans, salad with balsamic dressing
HEA - milk in ta throughout the day
HEB - bread
Syns - burger 0.5; probably a glass of wine 6

Jock has told you about the amount of cheese you can have. Olive oil used to be a HEB but unfortunately it isn't any more so it is 6 syns for 1 Tbs! So if you wanted to use all your syns on it you could have 2.5Tbs, but of course that means you wouldn't be able to have any other things at all which I don't think is sustainable.
For example, how would you thicken a sauce? The easiest way is with cornflour which you would have to syn at 1 syn per Tbs; a Tbs of sauce another syn.
If you like the odd glass or wine that would be another 6 syns (175ml glass).
