Thank you all for your warm welcomes.
Maman I am not surprised that they are discontinuing the Green plan because IMHO the idea of encouraging people to eat unlimited amounts of pasta, rice, couscous and noodles is not in line with current dietary views that discourage the indiscriminate consumption of refined carbs - hence their PP plan which encourages people to fill up with more proteins.
I am caught in between wanting to eat more proteins and feeling the winter pull for some carbs. Losing the simple carbs gave me a weight loss of 2 stones, but I have seriously lost my way.
I am also nervous of going low fat and I hate using all the gimmicky stuff like FryLight and stuff with sweeteners and Aspartame, I hope I shall manage to get healthier alternatives.
I don't mind if it takes me a bit longer to lose the extra weight, but I just don't want to put unnecessary and man-made ingredients in my body. I love fresh and unadulterated food, but I also have a sugar addiction which I am finding difficult to break.
I look forward to starting soon. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Well done BEG!!! I can't wait to get this over with, I feel like I have lost but I don't know! I can never predict it.

Caterina - welcome to the thread. We've "met" on other threads on MSE!
You don't have to use Frylight and sweetners etc but if you don't you have to use your syns on them - so a bit less for things like gravy, sauces, chocolate & wine, LOL! But it's doable.
Definitely go along to a meeting or two and make sure you really understand the plan before you stop going.
Make sure you keep popping in - the thread moves extremely quickly!

Does anyone keep jumping on and off the scales?
I don't have scales at home. When I was fat I ignored them and DH got fed up with them getting dusty and rusty in the bathroom so he threw them out never to be replaced. I think I could become a bit obsessive if I had some as weight naturally fluctuates. SW don't recommend weighing at home but it happens a lot.
Well done on the JP mim, very healthy and right on plan.I am caught in between wanting to eat more proteins and feeling the winter pull for some carbs.

That's the main difference between EE and EESP. Put simply, if you think of a plate of food as a third each of carb, Protein and Speed (most fruit and veg) then that's EE. EESP is simply half and half Speed and Protein. Like denise says you don't have to stop using oil or sugar if you don't want to. Most days I have one glass of squash and almost everything else is cooked from scratch. I suppose I could always drink water.:(
I tend to agree about the 'filling up' message on SW in general not only on the Green plan. IMO the most important thing about SW (and I can hear regular posters yawning already;)) is to eat plenty of Speed food and (I believe) that the veg is better than the fruit.
I came on to say that I noticed a SW voucher in Woman's Own (or it could have been Woman) magazine. That'll get you £5 off so your first session including the books and talk will only cost £5.0
