I picked up on that too mim, I love corned beef and it's really not that high in syns (3 for 100g and only 2 for if you can get Princes lean). Do you just mix it up with the mash and put some cheese on top or any special recipe?
I remember lois saying corned beef used to be free once upon a time.:(0 -
Shala I'm so sorry I have not replied to your post. Only just got back online due to work commitments and a lot of family problems. In addition I have 13 and 10 year old whom I have to compete with to get on the computer with and I usually lose. I've also had to contend with increased appetite due to Tom so don't feel like I'm worthy of joining forum. Thank you for adding me to your list_starting again! 06/01/15___________________________________0

I dry fry some chopped onions first and then add some cubed par-boiled potatoes until they get a bit crispy on the edges. Stir in the cubed corned beef and a tin of beans and heat through.
Didn't realise the Princes lean was only 2 syns, will look out for that it'll save a syn per 100g! Every little helps as the saying goes!!

I've made it the same way as Denise in the past but omitting the beans. Today however, I made extra veg at lunchtime. I added 2 slices of corned beef to the mashed swede & celeriac, I had some extra cabbage so added that too. I then reheated everything until the mash was just beginning to get browned round the edges. I just grated a very small piece of cheese on the top for extra flavour. It was lovely, a nice change. I was getting a bit fed up of soups, casseroles and mushy pea curry.Weight loss 0/2st

Hi and welcome, I think I almost wore out my scales in the first few weeks of starting the plan, jumped on them everytime I passed but found that weight can fluctuate so much during the day that I was just upsetting myself. Now I only weigh once a week.
It is my intention to join SW as soon as I'm able to leave my home. I bought all the relevant books on eBay, but due to suffering with Social Anxiety, plus many other ailments, I've not gone to a group meeting as yet.
I would like to know, how do you all feel about what you weigh at a meeting, with clothes, compared to weighing yourself at home, without clothes. Is anything taken off your weight for clothes, etc.,?
Do you wear the same clothes to the meetings every week, or, is there another secret?
Thanking you for taking of your time to read this message.
Yours sincerely,

Hello Samantha, I know your question was directed at Meg and Fay so I hope you don't mind me butting in.
I don't go to group but I have done in the past. On the first week you are weighed fully clothed, you can take anything off that you want I.e. Shoes, coat, jumper etc and that weight is recorded as your start weight. I always tried to wear the same clothes each week so there wasn't too much variation, and you'd be surprised, a pair of jeans can weigh 2 pounds!
Good luck with going to group, but it's not essential. If you already have the books you could do it yourself - that's what I'm doing now and I've lost 1.5 stone so it is possible. Set yourself a weigh-in day and report in to this thread with your result.
Going to group does have some advantages and if you are hoping it will help with your anxiety problems that's obviously one of them. You will get support from the consultant, the chance to win prizes, stickers to reward you when you reach milestones, and input from other group members. There are also items on sale at groups such as recipe books and SW magazines.
Members of this thread can offer advice, answer questions and celebrate your successes with you, and most of all, it's free!

Maman, thanks for the info. I feel a baked apple may feature soon! BTW you were right – of course the Bairns won yesterday when I wasn’t there! And I see your team triumphed too!
Don’t know how tomorrow will go, I’m meeting a friend for lunch, so breakfast will be yogurt and banana. Don’t know what I’ll do for dinner. I’m still not feeling great and right now I’m shattered after visiting friend today. If it were easier to meet up with tomorrow’s friend, I’d probably postpone our lunch.Sorry, that sounds like I’m wallowing in self pity when really I know I’m very lucky in life.
Well it’s WI tomorrow and tbh I’m a bit scared of the scales; expecting a gain.
Good night all.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400
