It is my intention to join SW as soon as I'm able to leave my home. I bought all the relevant books on eBay, but due to suffering with Social Anxiety, plus many other ailments, I've not gone to a group meeting as yet.
I would like to know, how do you all feel about what you weigh at a meeting, with clothes, compared to weighing yourself at home, without clothes. Is anything taken off your weight for clothes, etc.,?
Do you wear the same clothes to the meetings every week, or, is there another secret?
Thanking you for taking of your time to read this message.

Hi Samantha, welcome aboard. I go to class each week and try to wear the same/very similar clothing each week. Jeans are a definite no no for me :rotfl: but if you wear them for your first weigh in then that isn't a problem. We will always guarantee that you gets loads of support here and motivation. If you have any questions just shout up and there will usually be someone around who will be able to help. So good luck and let us know how you are getting along.
Just dawned on me I have wi tomorrow night  It seemed so strange last week not going to class. Going to buy a countdown so will get the new recipe book.
Hope we all have massive losses for the chart this week.

 Samantha, I'd agree completely with b-e-g and just choose an outfit you're comfortable with and stick to it. After a few weeks it'll be probably be falling off but it'll make you feel good!:rotfl:When I started I turned up in my (then) uniform of black top and trousers and soon I had a problem stopping the trousers falling down. It's absolutely usual (especially at this time of the year) for people to take off their coats, shoes, scarves and jumpers but you don't have to if you don't want to it's your choice. What really matters is that you try to control as many variables as you can so you get a fair reading on the scales. So try to wear the same every week as far as possible. Well done for posting and do come back and ask as many questions as you like.yellowbird wrote: »so don't feel like I'm worthy of joining forum. Thank you for adding me to your list
I'm ignoring the 'I'm not worthy' yellowbird. Different members have different amounts of time available for posting and we understand that. I'm one of the lucky ones that don't have to work any more!!:D:j Do join the conversation any time you want. There's always someone around to help. That's one of the (many) things this board has over a weekly group meeting.
Didn't realise the Princes lean was only 2 syns, will look out for that it'll save a syn per 100g! Every little helps as the saying goes!!
Denise
I read it on the SW site and it seems to feature on mysupermarket. I suppose you need to weigh up being mse against SW as no doubt the lean one is more expensive.greentiger wrote: »Maman, thanks for the info. I feel a baked apple may feature soon! BTW you were right – of course the Bairns won yesterday when I wasn’t there! And I see your team triumphed too!
Don’t know how tomorrow will go, I’m meeting a friend for lunch, so breakfast will be yogurt and banana. Don’t know what I’ll do for dinner. I’m still not feeling great and right now I’m shattered after visiting friend today. If it were easier to meet up with tomorrow’s friend, I’d probably postpone our lunch.Sorry, that sounds like I’m wallowing in self pity when really I know I’m very lucky in life.
Yes, you're right greentiger and we're now 3rd in the Premier League although you'd never know from the meejah coverage.
I've had this ongoing 'cold' since Christmas too although haven't had many proper cold symptoms more just tiredness and sinus problems. Try to enjoy your lunch with your friend and if you can't choose somewhere that does SW friendly menu then draw a line ASAP afterwards.

Morning all. Sorry for falling off the radar there, that was a manic week. I was disorganised and ate rubbish as a result so the fact I managed a STS is a darned miracle.
I pulled my socks up though and had a good weekend. I possibly ate too little in free food volume and syns as I simply wasn't at home for most of it but wizzing here thwre and everywhere instead.
But Mr Shortie has helped with the organisation (helpa that he is now on sw too) and I have plenty of food for work and have left my purse at home.
I'm planning just EE this week while I get back into the flow before I introduce a couple of SP days in..
Today:
B: overnight oats (heb) with blackberries
L: sw chilli and rice
Sn: apple
Dinner: slow cooked pork
Sn: 1x alpen bar (3 syns)
Hea: milk in tea
Syns: not sure yet on the restApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

If you like Peanut butter i had a lovely dessert last night - quark mixed with sweetner and Peanut hottie (it's like a hot choc drink from sainsburys but PB) then i dipped fruit into it. i imagine it would be lovely with banana... it's a coupe of syns depending on how much powder you use, i think i used less that half the sachet.

L: salad with pepper, cucumber, eggs and a few dried cranberries, applespork fillet with vegetables
I am sure there will be more derailing during the day, but I am trying to stay focused. I don't like this fat me!!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Mildredd, there is a woman keeps rejoining my group because she wants to get to a certain weight so that she can do a skydive for charity. She was there before I joined nearly two years ago and still keeps leaving and coming back but never gets anywhere with losing weight. You can be one proud lady when you do that skydive!! :T Coz lots of people have these dreams and you have actually been able to go and do it!!
Glad you enjoyed your boots and jeans Shala, you hold on to that feeling and let it spur you on!!
Michcity – Well done on your honesty and drawing a line. :T Happens to us all, its how you react now is key!
Take it Easy – I am too allergic to life kiddo! Definitely men anyway :wall:
I’ve been really bad on Saturday and I really hope that I can pull it back now:doh:
Bottle of wine
Small piece of carrot cake
Piece of apricot swiss roll
Haribo
Doesn’t look that bad when I put it out there but I still feel bad about it. Just coz I was being so good and was so focused.
Maman Chocolate and cheese are my two best friends! :rotfl:
Shala – I’ve been on the hunt for the Peanut Hottie, our Sainsburys don’t have it but I’m hoping Tesco will.
The form is dodgy hence the Saturday eating and drinking._pale_ Two different friends got in touch about planning nights out later this month so those are something to look forward to. I guess I’ve got to learn in life that not everyone will like you and its outside of your control. Moving on though is easier said than done when you really really liked someone! :embarasse
Anyway I am hoping to have a good week both SW wise and life wise. I do not know what is wrong with me but the thought of Valentines Day on Saturday is also depressing me.:heartpuls I also dreamt I was pregnant last night and no one would believe me that it wasn’t possible lol. Think my head is gone lol
Chicken with lots of veg for me for dinner
Trying to save myself from this sort of behaviour:EasterBun is my goal right now!!!

Hi Sam
No deductions for clothing but I wear the same items normally, and take my shoes off, I have anxiety but like going to class because you pick up new tips but failing this you can join a facebook group and there is a slimming world recipe swap which I have found invaluable, no one is awful at class in fact they are very nice. there is also a class group but like I say the more support the better it is. Ive purchased some books free foods, is good worth it.

Hi Sam, welcome to the thread. I have been following SW for about a year now and have been doing it alone with the help of this thread. I have ME (which includes anxiety), although there are groups near me I couldn't manage the walk there, or the early morning (which is when they are held) and socialising is very tiring for me. I weigh once a week at home in my birthday suit. I get loads of support here on this thread, which by the way has a facebook group too if that would be useful. I just wondered if you can cope with socialising in small amounts, ie. would it help if you met with a group of close friends at your home who are trying to lose weight too. If that worked you could gradually work your way towards going to a group, if you really want to go to one. My husband started SW before me so he has given me quite a bit of support and to be honest I've got quite used to doing things on my own, ME is a very lonely illness. About a year ago I started ballroom dancing but I have to save every ounce of energy during the week so that I can go to that but sometimes even that can be too much for me. I stress about whether I can remember the steps or whether I've offended someone, or whether I'm really liked by the group of friends we have made. I'm a bit like lantanna people either 'get me' or they don't.
Sorry for the monologue, Sam just keep posting on here, we are all friendly and you get great support. Don't feel pressured into joining a group, find a way that works for you.Weight loss 0/2st
