Weigh In later today so everything is crossed. I have followed plan, exercised daily so there's no more I can do.
Have cooked really good SW meals all week and eaten plenty of fruit, veg and salad. last night I made SW Hunters chicken and it was delicious. I was In Tesco yesterday and they had 2 pieces of hunters chicken in a container. If you bought 2 containers (ie 4 pieces chicken) they were a total of £7. I bought 6 pieces chicken breast for about £3.50 made it all SW, so cheaper and much healthier.
Good luck to anyone else weighing in today.0 -

Hi everyone, so sorry to hear about your sister mumoftwo, look after yourself.
Well done on all the loses and hugs to those who didn't see the results they hoped for.
I'm on a high this morning as I've managed to lose 3lbs! I haven't done anything different this week, so I guess I just need to get my head around the fact that it's a long game and the weekly weigh won't necessarily reflect the effort I've made in the previous week specifically.
I was hoping to make the 1/2 stone this week and am thrilled that I've exceeded that and now lost 8.5 since I started on 1st Jan. The parents' group at my eldest DD's school are organising a Swish (clothes swap party) tonight, so I've sorted out a load of clothes and hope to come home with some new stuff without having to spend anything.0 -

What kind of weekend were you looking for?
My niece has 3 littles and we have had some great weekends here at telford. She waits till Premier inn do their offers it usually costs £30 a night for the five of them.
Right outside the Inn is a huge park with wonderland which is a real treat for kids they love going to the little cottages and peeking through the windows, theres adventure playgrounds and a fair, though that can get pricey. Theres an Icerink, bowling and a Cinema and several resturants all placed around the hotel.
In the evening when the kids have run them ragged I go down to babysit so they can escape and get to go to the Cinema on their own or just a relax in the bar. Bless last time we did it they went to the cinema and my niece slept all the way through the film.
Hope you find what you are looking for.Slimming World at target0 -

The thing is I am soon to be nearer to 60 than 50  and all these extra pounds are not good. Health has been reasonable so far (touching wood) considering how I have abused it over the years with all the extra poundage. Feeling great so far so if I can shift some more I may feel even greater.

I'm nearer 60 than 55 and the past year has made me realise how lucky I've been so far, health wise, apart from the trouble I've been having with my knee which has prevented me being as active as I'd like to be.
Before we came to Spain I booked a health check with the practice nurse as a starting point in my decision to lose weight. The blood tests came back showing slightly raised cholesterol and glucose and the nurse told me that having both is a serious risk.
That made my mind up and I had visions of being 3 stone lighter before my return at the end of March!
That's not going to happen, but I'm not disheartened. I've been walking a lot more, and my knee is definitely better than it was, so I'm hoping that's due to losing 17lbs. If so, the more I lose the better it's going to get until I'm cycling, swimming and dancing again.
And I'm with you in not going back as well!

EE
Hea skimmed milk
Heb 2 slices of 400g hovis wholemeal
B blueberries and mullerlight
L HM bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, hifi (3) Apple
D BBQ chicken (made with uncle bens sauce (2) yellow and red pepper and onions) rice
Snacks frozen cherries, banana and maybe some cashew nuts (cos I found some in the cupboard from Christmas)
All I'd say is that the blueberries, bananas and cherries are not Speed food. I do understand those sticking to the old plan but just be aware that other fruits/veg might speed things up.So I guess my question is, those of you who have managed to overcome self image issues, how did you manage it and did a stranger in a shop doing a free personal shopper session help?
I wouldn't say I had issues but I did cover up the fact that I was fat for far too long. Like lois, I'm tall so increasing weight didn't show as quickly as it might on others. With good posture, decent bra and wearing black from head to foot I coped! When I started losing I just bought a few cheap bits from chazza shops or places like Asda, Matalan to see me through and experimented with a bit of colour at the same time. Now I don't even own a pair of black trousers!!! I have jeans for casual wear and a variety of skirts and dresses for going out. I'm loving it!
I'm out for a meal tonight but SW until then. So kippers and bread for breakfast and just about to have lentil &veg soup until I eat about 7.30.p.m. then back on plan tomorrow.;)0 -
Was it on here that I read about the Debenhams personal shopper thingie? Has anyone been on one, did it help you with self image, help you realise how to understand what suits your body shape and did you have to buy things? Or was it mentioned in my sw group I wonder?
I'm having an odd few days, was way off track with the diet yesterday, had a very sweet offer of a seat on the tube yesterday when I'm not pregnant (oh dear) and was going through a 'diversity and inclusion' module at work today and was reflecting on a b*tchy, alienating boss I used to have who once said I looked nice in a lift lobby and promptly said as he got in a lift with someone else on the team "for a middle aged mother of two" as a snide dig (I was only 27 at the time!)
I grew up not being allowes to wear make up and finding it easier to make friends with boys so I grew up quite a tom boy.
But I find myself as an adult struggling with my self image. Wanting to look femine but feeling like a chunky tom boy in office shift dresses during the week and living in jeans and t'shirts at the weekend. High heels kane my feet so it's wobbling on kitten heels at the most lol
So I guess my question is, those of you who have managed to overcome self image issues, how did you manage it and did a stranger in a shop doing a free personal shopper session help?
Rereading the above, I'm guessing my hormones are all over the shop at the moment :rotfl:
Aww feel for you Hun what a vile boss. it took me a long time to realise that people like that have very low self esteem themselves
and make themselves feel better by putting others down.
My ex was such a man and knocked my confidence every which way he could, constantly telling me I was too fat and should diet, his idea of the perfect shape a woman shoud be was Twiggy:rotfl:
anyone else remember matchstick legs, god if she turned sideways you couldnt see her. and I had boobs and a bum but I tried years of y0 y0 dieting often hungry and miserable. I didn't know about SW then. but looking back it wouldn't have made any difference because this man made himself feel good by making me feel bad.
Once I made a real effort after reading an article by Majorie Poops on how to please your man I made a real effort, he was a contractor and working away from home, I decided to surprise him by greeting him with a candle lit dinner and me in a very sexy outfit, the whole works matching bra and knickers stockings and suspenders. Oh I did think I looked good. He the ratfink took one look told me I didn't have the figure for it and wanted his dinner. Well he got his dinner thrown at him in handfuls, the plate on his head and no me for dessert. I never tried to please him again, I ate what I wanted when I wanted, if he commented that I didn't need another biscuit I finished the packet, if he said Id had enough chips I would cook somemore, when he said I looked like a bag of potatos tied in the middle I was pleased cos it annoyed him.
I seem to have written you a book here sorry but this has stuck a cord I me and I guess what I am trying to say is that I overcame my low self esteem by divorcing the cause and only pleasing myself and liking myself the way I am.
Anyway lets end on a laugh, I saw my ratfink last month and he commented on the weightloss telling me I looked good I told him he didn't and would always be ugly I giggled to myself all the way home :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -
Thank you for the welcome xx
No snow here in Essex Im glad to say, blooming cold though. I feel the cold much more these days lol. Dont know if thats the weight loss or age.
Im ignoring the changes to the SW plan just like I ignored EE. Im an original/green girl, I trust the plan and it works for me.
its definitely stew weather so im off to chop some vegx0 -
Just wondering if our SW will be cancelled tonight as we have snow. It's only about a 10 mile round trip but on minor country roads.
If it is I'll have to weigh in at home as my scales are exactly same as hers.0 -
