-3 pounds for me this week

Also got Slimmer of the Week, missed out on SOTM by half a pound. Oh well I'll live without a fridge magnet. First time I've won SOTW in ages, as I've been fairly steady without being spectacular.

Group was nearly empty this week, no idea quite why. Got some Rhubarb and Custard bars, they tasted quite nice. Decided to try and eat some healthy bars for a bit more fibre and a bit less chocolate

Well done Jock on another good loss.

I suspect that a lot of people will stop going to group now. It's the same every year - loads of new people at the beginning of January with good intentions to lose weight, they come to group for 3-4 weeks and then stop coming. Some carry on by themselves but quite a lot end up returning around May/June time to lose some weight for their summer holiday! Seems pretty pointless to me to keep rejoining for a few weeks and then stop.

Can't say a fancy the rhubarb & custard Hifi bars as I don't really like rhubarb that much (even though I grow it, most of which I give away!).

    Yet another EE day:

B - scrambled eggs on toast (HEB)
L - jacket potato, tuna mayo (2 Tbs LTL mayo); salad
D - LO pheasant breast, LO spicy rice; cauliflower rice; peas. Will need to make some more sauce as there wasn't really enough to split between 2 meals. Fortunately it's a low syn one, using syn free onion chutney, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, a tiny splash of hot chilli sauce (substitute for tabasco as I'd run out) and 1 Tbs HP brown sauce and a little water or stock.

We had it with just the rice and green beans last night.

It's like baked porridge.. I used to make it ages ago and forgot all about it until I saw it on Instagram the other day. It's heb and 1 syn per portion.

Heb of porridge oats - 35g
    1 egg
    50ml milk (1 syn)
    sweetner to taste

Mix it all up and bake. You can add different flavours or fruits to it but you'd have to add the relevant syns too..

I made choc shot flavour and topped it with sliced bananas.

    Right chart time..

So SOTW* is.... :T:j:TJPSCLOUD:T:j:T with a loss of 4.5lbs!!

    Congratulations!

Thanks Shala. How long do you bake the oats for and what temp? I've done something similar but making pancakes and just frying them.

Even though I don't take part in the challenges (as I'm at target), thanks for keeping the chart, you're a star. I think it really helps a lot of people to be accountable on here.

    Get doing the fitness dvd!!

Lantana convinced me to buy a fitness dvd and so far we've yet to do it :/ I watched it but don't think that quite counts as I just sat n watched it :/

This week I have been beyond stressed but trying now it's too easy to pick on bits that are still lingering from Xmas :/
Started sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

New Year New You Challenge - /6lb
  • Oops! Made a bit of a boo boo this morning :o

I didn't plan any food for today, so had to just grab and go. I was running late for work, so just got some cereal from our canteen for breakfast. Picked up (and ate!) a 30g packet of Special K thinking it would be my HEXB choice.

Only realised when writing it down at my desk that they don't count!!!

It says 25g is 4.5 syns in my book. I had 30g, so I was gunna put 6 syns. Would that be about right?

    Morning all :)

Thanks for the chart Shala and well done Jpscloud for SOTW.:T

I'm eating out far too much at the moment and despite doing my best to make SW friendly menu choices I think I'm stretching flexible syns to their absolute limit. Tonight I'm going to be :A - we're going to a quiz night with supper, which is sausage chips and beans so I'm going to have a jacket potato before we go and give my meal to DH. I'm encouraging him to eat something we wouldn't normally have but he doesn't mind!
    Evening folks.
Its been an up and down day for me today. Started off fine with my porridge and a cuppa. A banana and clementine during the morning and then went to mums to collect the wee one at lunch time.
She had a sandwich ready for me!
2 thick slice of seeded bread, buttered with salad, beetroot, ham and coleslaw all piled in! I dread to think......

My Mum used to do things like that and she'd think she was doing something diet friendly because it was 'only salad'! I went to Morrisons for lunch with her once and I was trying to decide what to have, she pointed to a plate of salad with a slice of quiche, a big spoonful of mayo-laden coleslaw and potato salad on it. To her it must be ok if it's salad.

Put yesterday behind you and make a fresh start today, you won't have done that much damage.

Well done everyone posting losses, even if it is only half a pound. As Mr T says, 'every little helps' - it's a step in the right direction.

    Have a good day.

Hello Fay - the current challenge runs until 1st March and you can decide how much you want to lose by then.

Let Shala know and she can add you to the chart.

Feel free to join in the chat, ask any questions and share your menus if you want to.

  • STS for me this week feeling sorry for myself again, don't seem to be able to shift weight at all. Meals are a all ok SW wise and I rarely over syn. Tried upping veg instead of fruit and drinking water last week and that clearly hasn't helped so anyone have any other suggestions. Consultant hasnt, she suggested food diary, SAS log, rereading my book and checking syns - all of which I am doing. I think i p'd her off a bit really because she was short with me after she said I should repeat my first week and I reminded her I only lost 2lbs then. I makes it worse when loads of members are having 4lb+ losses and bragging about their nights out, takeaway and choccy feasts.
rant over! Pity party closed, it's a new week.

Well done, hwoolgar, Maisie, Jelly and Lauri.

If you don’t want to make a cushion, how about a wall hanging or picture, b-e-g?

If the truth be told, Lauri, I’m not that fond of raspberry ruffle – I bought them for OH, so it makes me even more mad to have made that awful error. (There was nothing else in the house other than my hm pear and ginger cake, so I thought 2.5 syns for the ruffle was a better option than a slice of that!)

Roll on Day 4! I'm ready for you.
Ha ha, virgo! I misread that and thought you were looking forward to a tasty bite!

Your meals always look great, mich.

    Hiya, fay.

Matron, you will get your deserved losses, just stick with it
