Hi all I am thinking about joining SW I need to make some major changes to my lifestyle and this seems to be the best way to get it done, I will have to do the online option as the classes in my area dont fit in with my work/kids timetable. Does anyone here do the online program and how do they find it? (I went to some meetings many moons ago and tbh they made me uncomfortable). I have a thyroid problem(controlled with tablets) and am an insulin dependent type 2 diabetic who at my last weight check was 113kg (am too scared to convert this into stones atm:() the only good thing to come out of my review is that my blood pressure is within target.

Welcome to the thread elly2 :)

I joined SW online 10th July last year for 3 months and can honestly say I would have liked them to have 1 month online membership. The only things that I liked about the online was finding syns out and putting my weight in and seeing the graph going down. I bought the SW 2014 directory from their site .

I found this thread which is brilliant and a friendly bunch (nutters :p:D) and have gone it alone since my 3 months was up. I am on week 29 this week and you can see my loss in my signature :j:j:j

Mildredd, I love your style. Thanks for the encouragement re fat intake jolting metabolism. I’d like redcurrants on cheesecake too.

Mrs_R, sorry it’s a difficult time for you just now. Just take your pleasures where you can right now.

    Well done, barney.

Penny, I get caught out all the time with delayed loss/gain. As long as I can see a downward trend, I’m fine about it. I’m not “on a diet”, I’m enjoying life through a healthier approach to food in general.

    Hiya, new peeps.

I did SW online, really just to get the programme and to be accountable somewhere. I had to print out all info; they don’t send out the books, so it is expensive for what you get. Then I found this welcomingforum and it’s much more helpful (and MSE). It all started with discussions about the syn value of crackers, some of you may remember. Now, if I can’t/ don’t want to wait for an answer here, I often just google how many syns in … and it’s amazing what comes up. So SW online got ditched and I’m as accountable as ever – probably more so, actually. Thanks, guys.

maman, that’s all I can think of for the redcurrant sauce – it’ll take forever to use up, esp as I don’t make gravy very often! Maybe I’ll try some in mince.

  • Today was a bit of a struggle (Only 3 days in! :o) but I managed to avert disaster eating. I got to work without eating breakfast/packing lunch so had to improvise and buy food from the restaurant at work. Was busy all morning so didn't get to eat until 11

    Today's food:

B - muller light yoghurt and a cup of tea
L - Jacket potato, beans, cheese, salad and a can of Lilt Zero
D - will be chicken stir fry with noodles or chicken fajitas with rice, NAS flavoured sparkling water
S - Tea, Alpen light bar

    HEX A - 30g cheese
HEX B - Alpen light bar

Syns - 1.5 skimmed milk, 1 flora light, 9 wrap (if I have fajitas, but I might just have the chicken and rice)
    December 2015: 12st
    Goal Weight: 9st 7lbs

I made the SW Turkey mince burgers tonight and everyone loved them. :jIf you search Turkey mince on SW site it's the first recipe that comes up. You add grated courgettes, soy sauce etc. We had them with SW chips and loads of red cabbage which is an old recipe I've done for years ... With cooking apples, bay leaf, vinegar and is SW friendly because I use artificial sweetener.

I feel your pain Pennylane. It was my second week too. I followed the plan to the letter - I mean to the absolute letter - also walked miles and an aerobics class and I lost half a pound. Again. The scales flickered and weren't going to even give me that!

I am so very disappointed and disheartened.

Mrs_Ryan - sorry to hear your news. Puts my lack of weightloss into perspective!

We'd better buddy up then Joho!!:). I may change tack this week and weigh at home this week. When I went to SW before they always discouraged this but at least you can see what's happening.

It was f f f freezing here today and I forced myself out to do my daily walk and I didn't meet one other person out walking. That's another thing that bugs me ..... People I talk to at SW lose weight and do no exercise at all!!!

I'm sorry your progress is slow too. :(

Had a wee NSV today.. Went to buy some new jeans in Next, size 12 skinny fit perfectly.. They are dead stretchy but never mind that,, it's all about the label :j :rotfl: http://instagram.com/p/yM830Cmjeh/

I'm another that loses slowly.. I started in Oct 2012 and am at 4stone 2 1/2lb off.. Have seen people lose that amount in a few months.. Ah well as frustrating as it can be at times, I'll carry on till I get to target :p

    Whoops

Today is the kind of day where I need to get as p1ssed as a f@rt when I get home. I was doing okay diet wise and then had some disappointing news about our house valuation meaning we can't release what we need for building work we want to do

So, being unable to drink (gutting at times like this) I was really naughty and had a bag of McCoys instead. Steak flavour. I live life on the edge, me :rotfl:
