New Year, New You with Slimming World

Thank you all.
Feel like ive been hit by a truck today.
Ive amended my sig to try to explain. The first part is to do with, as some of you may know, the rugby player I sponsor who announced the devastating news that he was forced to retire at the age of 24 due to a head injury that he was unable to recover from. Absolutely devastated for him- have spent the best part of yesterday crying. This is very sad for me for a number of reasons too much to go into on here although thank god he is alive. It is a massive loss but thankfully not in that way.
However the second part refers to my friend who died suddenly a year ago and I miss her still every day.
Thanks all xx
As you say hun he is still alive and although its tragic that hes forced to retire while theres life theres hope, hes very young and perhaps in the future more may be able to be done for him.
The loss of your friend is different, there aint no arguing with death I still miss my friend and its four years now but I find with passing time that's its a little easier to bear, something will remind me of her and I smile or giggle if I remember a funny time
we had.
Be kind to yourself and you will get through.
I have another close friend who is fighting cancer, just before Christmas it seemed that she was going to lose the battle but she didn't and there is now hope that she will beat it.Slimming World at target0 -
1lb loss for the chart pls Shala :-)
:T gbateyI made the SW Turkey mince burgers tonight and everyone loved them. :jIf you search Turkey mince on SW site it's the first recipe that comes up. You add grated courgettes, soy sauce etc. We had them with SW chips and loads of red cabbage which is an old recipe I've done for years ... With cooking apples, bay leaf, vinegar and is SW friendly because I use artificial sweetener.
yum yum penny. Does the courgettes keep them moist? Must try them.Had a wee NSV today.. Went to buy some new jeans in Next, size 12 skinny fit perfectly.. They are dead stretchy but never mind that,, it's all about the label :j :rotfl: http://instagram.com/p/yM830Cmjeh/
Well done mich :T Great NSV :j

I am not an official club member but have been given the basics info from a member to get started. I have been having severe joint pains for the last 12-18 months. Had RA tests but nothing identified. Have not eaten any bread since starting Slimming World two weekends ago and the difference in my joint pain is amazing. Have cut down painkillers now and result - am 10 lbs lighter so far. All helps and am glad this works for me.
That's brilliant Angela. :T Welcome aboard+2lbsupset yet not surprised.
Oh dear Rummer - hopefully some of it will shift at next wi. Don't beat yourself up too much.
Just had a bacon butty with a bit of ketchup on followed by a wispa biscuit - delish. Earlier this evening I had turned down the offer of Christmas cake, battenburg, biscuits and crisps at s-i-l's and settled for a golden delicious.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Guys I am struggling at the moment. I am cold and I'm tired and I'm struggling to get back on the wagon. It's my birthday next Wed, we're having a party tomorrow and I don't really care. Except I went to buy a pair of jeans tonight and came back really depressed with the size I had to buy, so I do care. Wish you could just wave a magic wand and make all the fat shrink away. I'm not going to weigh in this week, I'll try my best to get back on things next week....0

Hi all
Feeling slightly, marginally better. Still crying occasionally but I feel like I've got a massive hangover without the alcohol
Met my best friend today in town, one of the few people who truly understands my state of mind right now and had a lovely few hours, talked about him a bit but did some nice things, had a good old giggle in the changing rooms at Primark which helped a bit.
So glad I'm at my mum's- As some of you know I suffer badly with anxiety and depression and often need watching but she's keeping a careful eye on me.
Thank you all for your kind words- I know it sounds probably like something that isn't worth getting myself into such a state over but as ive said before it's an extremely complex situation unfortunately and this will take some getting over.
Well done to all the losers.. And sending hugs to all who need them. We're a great bunch here, very supportive and you're all good people.
Thanks all, goodnight xxx*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -

Hi Everyone,
Pleased to report a 1.5 loss this week - feel better about that than week 2!
Elly, I've joined online as I can't get to a local class. I do find it a really helpful resource and like others have said, it's good to be accountable although there are other ways to do that. I plan to print out a load of the recipes that I've been trying and make sure I write down the syns of all the things I'm likely to eat/drink for when my subscription is up.
Having a go at posting menus, this is yesterday's:
B: HM fruit salad (blueberries, raspberries, nectarine, plum, strawberries) with FF yoghurt & topped with museli (B)
S: KP Skips (4), banana, nectarine, pear
L: Tomato mugshot, rocket and cucumber salad, FF yoghurt
T: SW recipe broccoli, potato & cheese bake (can't remember the proper name) (A), FF yoghurt, dark kitkat (5.5), Ferrero Rocher (3.5)
I take my tea & coffee black and also had some NAS squash and water.
Today I've had porridge made with 200mls skimmed milk (B, 3syns), I'm thinking maybe a sweet potato jacket with beans and a salad for lunch and something cheesy for tea but haven't decided yet.
Well done to everyone for losing or keeping going when they aren't (I know too well how hard it is when you don't see a return on investment)0 -

The Turkey burgers were nice and moist. Recipe said three small courgettes, well we don't do small around here :rotfl: what does a small courgette look like? I used just one about 8" long.0 -
Glad things are a little better for you Mrs R.
Another EE day for me today:
B - SW fry up with HM baked beans (0.5); bread (HEB)
L - Sweet chilli noodles with prawns - may make my own sweet chilli sauce to save on syns as had rather too many yesterday!
D - SC chicken casserole
HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
HEB - bread
Syns - HM baked beans - 0.5; sweet chilli sauce if I don't make my own - 3

Just a really quick one as I need to go out and I'll do a proper catch up later..
Treeny I'm in exactly the same position as you.. I can't seem to get my head around trying to get back in the game since Xmas break. I stuffed myself yesterday with bread and pasta and crisps and chocolate..so I'm starting the week having to lose more weight just to get a STS the same again next week! Have a good week enjoying your birthday and then have a time for yourself to think about losing weight/refocusing.
I think the things I'm going to focus on and this may help someone else which is why I'm writing them out
- mini goals - I'd like to have lost 2lb by 6th Feb(out for afternoon tea), then my birthday is a month after.. I'd like to have lost another 2.5lb by then as that gets me to 13.7 - this would be the best birthday present every
- remembering why I want to lose weight - I wrote post its and put them inside my wardrobe door - I need to make sure I look at them!
- I may put some photos up inside my wardrobe too.. One at my smallest and one at my largest - helps to remember what I look like rather than what I think I look like!
- food diary - write everything down!
- meal plan - meal plan and stick to it!!
- I need to remember it isn't fair when I can't eat what I want BUT if I want to be slimmer/healthier then I just need to get on with it, take responsibility and act like a grown upI don't do this one well..
- eat more slowly to give myself time to realise I'm full
If anyone has any I can add to my list then feel free to say..I'm after anything at the minute that can kickstart it although I have woken up with a good bit of motivation :j:j it's usually once I've gone downstairs to the kitchen I lose it
E.t.a. Sorry that wasn't such a quick post after allMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0
