New Year, New You with Slimming World

Hi and welcome Elly. I bought a 3 month subscription to SW online as I didn't fancy going to a group. I downloaded the PDF lists and used it for the chart. The app was useful for checking syn values, but to be honest I don't think it was worth the money and I found the need to be accountable. Which is how I ended up here. I don't post often, but do read all posts (a full time job in itself)
I managed to lose 4 stone over the course of a year with everyone's help and support and kept all but a few pounds off til Christmas when I put on half a stone, which is why I'm back
I did make a non sw lasagne for hubby,s birthday yesterday. I had a small portion with a handful of oven chips, I also had a slab of rocky road  still, I enjoyed it and more importantly, so did he. There was enough left over for two more meals so he had it tonight whilst I had quorn chilli (with loads of hidden veg in), jacket pot and a large salad for mine. Been 100% on plan and will forego my weekend treat to compensate for yesterday.
We went for a long walk this morning and spent the afternoon getting on with decorating the front room. Skirting and coving is on and one door painted. :T
Oops, sorry for the ramble!!! Hope everyone has a good weekend0 -
Hello. Have been reading this page since I started SW on my own two weekends ago. I am not an official club member but have been given the basics info from a member to get started. I have been having severe joint pains for the last 12-18 months. Had RA tests but nothing identified. Have not eaten any bread since starting Slimming World two weekends ago and the difference in my joint pain is amazing. Have cut down painkillers now and result - am 10 lbs lighter so far. All helps and am glad this works for me.0

Evening all, welcome in newbies this is a great place to be :A
Well done losers and hugs to those in need :A
Mrs Ryan you have my deepest sympathy, my life has been nothing but loss recently. My sons mini rugby coach has passed away this week to the dreaded big C. He introduced my son to rugby at the age of 8 and coached him until he became a youth player. He also helped my son get a place at a good college when we went to appeal by giving a brilliant reference. Can't thank him enough as son did well there. He was only 53 so no age really. Will be a big turn out as he was associated with 3 of the big rugby clubs in Norwich.
Also was Mums Birthday last Monday, 2nd since she passed but just a year on so still very fresh and emotional. Thinking of you at this sad time.
The teacher and other TA I work with have both been very poorly this week but I thought I had got off scott free. Typically though I get home and suddenly my nose is streaming and im sneezing loads. Feeling rough now

Whoops
Today is the kind of day where I need to get as p1ssed as a f@rt when I get home. I was doing okay diet wise and then had some disappointing news about our house valuation meaning we can't release what we need for building work we want to do
So, being unable to drink (gutting at times like this) I was really naughty and had a bag of McCoys instead. Steak flavour. I live life on the edge, me :rotfl:
OH for shame Shortie you just made me laugh so much I sprayed my poor grandson with a mouthful of diet coke, better get a flannel before he calls child line.:rotfl::rotfl:
Well done on having the bag of McCoys instead of the booze.Slimming World at target0 -

Just back to basics

Well done on losing 10lbs. I started SW because I was in so much pain with my knees, I have arthritis, and thought it would ease if I lost weight, it did and now 3 stone lighter I am virtually pain free
just the odd niggle sometimes, nothing like the agony that had me sitting in the bath crying. Hope it works as well for you as it has me.Slimming World at target0 -
