Mumoftwo, don’t worry; you know things went wrong last week, but already you’re in the frame of mind to get sorted out again.

I don’t like mushy peas and so that gravy sounds bleugh! I can just about cope with the idea of mushy pea curry – but not enough to try it.

Great effort, jamiegem, blinkered, flutterby and bay-tree.

Oh, go for it SeaBee! And enjoy!

Thursday's plan (is changing all the time)
    Breakfast: bacon, tomato hexb butty
    Lunch: Spanish omelette, salad
Dinner: (at the moment) bean stew, but not overly thrilled at the prospect

I am STILL eating out of freezer as much as possible (getting to the runt of it now) and I am now looking at using up cans and jars that are clogging up my cupboards. Many are not very SW friendly, but I am determined to use them all the same.

I am still finding it hard to get full on plan however I am not giving up just spending more time getting my head round things. We have booked a long weekend away in a few months so I have a target to work towards, I want to be a dress size smaller by the time I go.

What is it you're finding hard rummer? Do keep posting and asking questions if it helps. You can lose loads in a few months.

OMG! Can't believe I got SOTW!! That's made my day! :j

I was up at 5.30 digging my car out and clearing ours and our neighbours paths. I was very brave and drove to work as I hate driving in snow and ice but I couldn't face the mile walk, 2 trains and a bus that travelling by public transport means. Not to mention the extra 3 hours it adds to travelling time

Debating on whether to make a proper lasagne for tea tomorrow as its Hubby's birthday and its his favourite. His daughters are coming over and no doubt there will be cake syns too - so maybe I should just get them all out the way in one go, kind of like ripping off a plaster :rotfl:

Well done you for all that digging and helping neighbours. Excellent BM! Many Congratulations on SOTW.

'Real' lasagne isn't too bad except for the cheese sauce if you make it with SW Bolognese and then have plenty of salad with it and avoid the garlic bread! I'd agree, just go for it, he only has one birthday a year.
I'm amazed, I had a 3lbs loss tonight at WI!!! Considering the amount of off plan stuff I ate on Saturday I'm gobsmacked!

Shala - table is right for me, this 3lb loss is for week 3

That's excellent. Well done to you and all other losers.:T

Snap! greentiger, I had a sort out of my food cupboards today. I hate throwing food away but I did bin a few opened packets and jars. I now have four (out of date) tins that I'm determined to use up. A tin of salmon that I'm planning to make fishcakes with. 3 tins of fruit, raspberries in juice are SW friendly. The grapefruit and peaches are in syrup but I'll eat them anyway minus the syrup.

WI for me tomorrow. I'm expecting a gain after all the off plan meals I've had but hopefully not too much. Next meal out is Saturday then a good run until after WI next Thursday. I've got to keep myself in hand or my new dress won't fit next month.:o

Oh maman, I think I could feed the 5000 with my tins and jars that were lurking in a crate in the hall cupboard- it's ridiculous! Some of them are out of date too, but will get eaten. Right now they are covering half of my dining table. The fruits are all in juice, but there is a lovely tin of cherry pie filling .... I have still to attack the kitchen cupboards, but they've mostly got baking stuff (shhhhh! You never heard that), dried fruit and nuts, herbs & spices and things like that.

Any idea of what to do with a jar of redcurrant sauce?

  • We make lasagne, we use lean beef, passata and some peppers and herbs for the sauce, make it as normal. For the top we put some free fromage frais and then use some HEA, we normally do a mixture of parmesan and cheddar, if we're going to cut it in 4 we normally do 90g of cheese and save 30g for sprinking on when cooked.

90g is a lot of cheese for the top, you might even think too much, but it makes it nice and cheesy and it's probably the nicest lasagne I've ever cooked.

Jock is the fromage frais just poured over the lasagne or do you mix it with cheese and then pour? Might try that...

I usually do a cheese sauce using milk, cornflower and cheese.

It works out at 1 hea and 1 syn per qtr of lasagne.

I tried all the quark/egg toppings that SW have in their recipes and they are vile _pale_ like having scrambled egg on top of a lasagne :rotfl:

Meg - that video was a funny, i did stop it once the ladies removed their bras though :rotfl: not that you saw anything!!

greentiger - no idea with redcurrant sauce, do you usually use it to top icecream and the like? the only ideas i can come up with are not SW-friendly... :D

    Morning!

Well done on the losses jamiegem, baytree (and your shiny), blinkered and flutterby :T

Congrats on SOTW seabee and thanks for the chart Shala, it's nice to see the totals too!

I make 'proper' lasagne to be honest. I tried making more SW friendly sauce but it really doesn't do it for me. I guess syns will depend on how much you make, but if you have HEA milk and/or cheese, it's just a bit of fat and flour and isn't much for a portion. The other sauce can easily be made free and you can stick a load of veg in as speed food.

Well done on starting 1stbusiness, and it will really help if your OH is on board with eating SW (at least at home - my hubby eats total rubbish at work!).

Thanks for your support, lovely peeps :kisses3:

Well done Seabee, slimmer of the week :T

Had a good day yesterday. I made cottage pie last night with lots of veg. I was experimenting with my new Nutribullet, I whizzed up garlic with celery, carrot, cauliflower, kale, water and oxo and added that to the mince, it made a very thick, rich, tasty sauce. Still added swede mash and diced carrots, so plenty of speed food ;) and very fillin

So a good start back 100% on plan
