My son is the same! I believe there is a real link to weather likes/dislikes and the time of year people are born. My sons birthday was last week and he has always preferred cold weather. His idea of hell would be to sit in the sun or go to a very hot country.

I totally agree. We are trying to plan a family holiday, probably the last with us all together, and my son is adamant we are not going anywhere hot.

Oooh - I forgot to report my NSV!

Couldn't find a pj top at the weekend - was in the drawers behind a cot with a sleeping baby in it so wasn't going to wake him up! In more hope than expectation I got one of my hubby's tshirts and it fitted me :j

To give you some idea, if hubby was a woman he'd be size 8/10 petite :rotfl:Still amazed I got my boobs in there to be honest ;)

    Good Morning :)

Looks lethal out with the snow and ice

Jock did you buy the 32 waist? I would have done would have been a good incentive for you ;)

No I normally wear my trousers under my stomach so not really sure if there is enough fat round my waist to ever fit into them.

What I have started to notice of late, is how much more I am feeling the cold. I get it is freezing outside but when i used to walk to work in the winter, it'd be coat and t-shirt, and within a few mins I'd be sweating.

Now I wear jumper, coat, gloves and hat and freeze all the way to work. I'm the same at home, I used to whinge it was too warm all the time, now I'm freezing.

I hope it's because of the lack of body fat, rather than some other illness. Hopefully I'll get the benefit in Florida.
  • Mildredd thats really nasty! I do hope the antibiotics kick in soon and you start to feel better. I ended up getting mine took out. Best decision I ever made :o

Huge well done to the losers over the weekend. STS's and gainers, keep on plodding! We are all in the same boat :o

So today is "blue monday" and I'm honestly feeling better today than I have all week! Had shreddies for breakfast, been to the gym for 45 minutes, now gonna do some housework before baking some cakes for the kids (must not eat mixture).

    Todays menu is:

    Breakfast: Cereal (HEA and B)
Dinner: Bacon, egg, beans and small slice of toast (syns)
Tea: Jacket potato with more beans :o

Snacks/Syns: Slice of bread, grapes, apple, satsumas

Really not looking forward to weigh day tomorrow because I know I will have a gain. But i'm just drawing a line under it and hoping for a decent loss next week to make up for it.

Thanks everyone for listen to me moan for the past week. Your all little stars.

Jocks I'm permanently cold these days
Prior to losing 5 stone I would go out in snow in just a jumper no coat - I've had to but coats this winter - got gloves and a bobble hat as Xmas presents as people are fed up seeing me shiver m grumble ;)
I refer to it as the blubber effect ;)

Counting pennies - Ive never had it before I presumed it was just a sore throat within 3 hours my throat had gone from a bit swollen and red to swollen and completely covered in gross :/
Sw is a plan for life and 'normal' people have weeks where they gain and eat more naughty food it's life - draw a line and try again is all normal none weight challenged people do and that's what we are ultimately striving to become?? I Was mortified the first few times I gained but now I think I enjoyed it I had a normal life and it'll soon be gone within a couple of weeks - I think sw messes with your mindset quite a bit tbh x I was obsessive about counting syns at one point now I have q vague count going on

    Morning lovelies :)
It looks like the sickness bug has hit my house. Hubby is malingering in bed with it having thrown up a few times last night. Baby boy was sick too (and I really can't deal with sick :( so nearly was myself). Just feeling a bit delicate and not wanting to eat right now. So far have had a cup of tea and that is it.

Same here Crabapple. DS2 home from school having thrown up there (thankfully he got to the bathroom in time!). I'm feeling mighty queasy and I feel very cold and not eating anything. Yuk! I really do not want to be ill at all and vomiting is just the worst!

Anyway, food wise I think I will just report that it's a starve day today.
    Trying to keep in budget.

My husband has lost over 2st doing SW and he now feels the cold and has to wear extra layers. He very rarely complained of the cold before. He too has gone down about 2 trousers sizes.

Hugs to Mildred & Crabapple and everyone else who are feeling under the weather.

I've sandwiched the cake together and am now having a lunch break before I tackle the difficult task of decorating.

EE is still the main plan but this month they've introduced a plan to speed up weightloss either when you start to give you a boost or for special occasions or when you're stuck in a rut. It's called EESP (Extra Easy Speed Protein). Briefly it's a low/carb free version of Extra Easy. So to explain it simply if you think of an EE meal as thirds of lean meat, veg and potatoes. The EESP version is just meat and veg half and half. Syns are the same and you can have an extra HEB. A few changes in the fruit list (bananas, kiwis, blueberries, pineapple are now just free not superfree). I'd suggest you go to a group once, get the books and the introductory talk and then stick around on here.

Maman - you say things so beautifully :T

    Morniiiiiiiing!!!

Ok so quick update before work...... dear friend had her baby at midnight last night, an eye watering 10lb, healthy happy baby girl :j hopefully both will be home later today

On SW front 4.5lbs off :D:D:D

Meaning 12.5lbs overall so far :j not too bad in 2wks.... hopefully it keeps going this way :p

What a whoopa fluff - bet it was a bit eye-watering. Hope Mum and baby are both well.

Congrats to you too on your amazing weight loss :T

I normally go off my belts, but had some old 34 inch waist jeans and they're loose, I started in a 38inch pair. I tried some trousers in a 32 in the Sainsbury's sale but couldn't get them fastened so not there yet.

I like using my belts though, I got rid of the first XL belt after making four of my own notches in it, I'm now in a L belt but on the last real notch, it doesn't really hold my trousers up very well any more so need to put one in.

Might look at a M belt from somewhere.

Didn't do so well at the weekend, had a family party, there were chips, buns, cakes, etc. Nothing I could really work with, but I skipped tea and seem to have just about got away with it.

I want a decent weight loss this week to fly the flag for Extra Easy, I want the new members to see you can lose a decent amount without doing the SP thing.

Message from my DH Jock - last time he tried trousers on in Sainsbugs - he tried a 30, 32 and 34. Result was the 30 fitted, 32 was too tight to breathe iny and 34's wouldn't meet by a few inches  Don't be too despondent if the smaller ones don't fit but by all means feel free to rejoice if the do (he does all the time).

On the EE/EESP debate jock - EE has worked well for me so far - over 5st 9lbs in just under nine months. I am of the opinion don't try and fix what ain't broken. I am carb aware and don't go overboard and if I fancy a bloomin banana I am going to have one ;). Just out of interest, our consultant has said very little about EESP.

Off to have ham salad, boiled egg, cottage cheese with probably fruit after.
