Morning all
Welcome to the new people and well done to everyone who is a little bit skinnier than they were.(trying to avoid the word loser!)
Had a red day for a change yesterday but DH and I were both hungry in the afternoon. Had melon and quark for breakfast (first time with fruit and very impressed) then scrambled egg and smoked salmon for lunch. We could have done with some toast to pad it out but we were saving HEBs so we could have 2 chicken fajitas for dinner. It sounds nice will report back when I have tried it will be Tuesday most probably having cauliflower cheese for tea tomorrow. Someone told me to cook a cauli and mash it put into dish . Mix 3 eggs with tub cottage cheese and pour over cauli and cook 30 mins .
I'd keep the cauli in whole pieces myself. I used to do a SW recipe that had cottage cheese mixed with eggs and it was quite tasty. It was in the old days when corned beef was free food on the red plan and the recipe consisted of corned beef and onions with the cottage cheese and egg mixture on top.
I'm also wondering about making cakey type thinggs with scan bran - has anyone tried them and are they ok?
Not sure if it's what you're after but you can make 'Ferrero rocher' with scan bran and they used to be very popular with members of my group. I haven't tried them myself. I'll have a look for the recipe and add it later.Hi I am a soup addict and my favourite is. Lentil and Veg. It's so simple to make.
I use 1 onion 1 tblsp olive oil to gently cook the onion. Then I add my garlic, 2 carrots, 1 medium sized potato,2 leeks, few sprigs of cauli or and broccoli. 2 handfuls of lentils 1 small tin of chick peas if desired or any type of beans 1.5 pints water 1 veg stock cube ( or chicken) mixed herbs salt and pepper.
Cook for 40 mins add more water if too thick. Let the soup cool and blitz or eat as it is. Lovely.
Thanks for the recipe wizkid, I might give this a go this week. I'm shopping tomorrow so I'll add the ingredients to my list.
The olive oil probably helps to improve the consistency but if anyone wanted to leave it out, you could boil the onions with a small amount of water and the stock cube for about 15 minutes or until they're tender before adding the remaining ingredients.
Tweets - I understand your concern with the dog, but slow cookers are very safe. I've never heard of anyone having a fire that started with one. I wouldn't be without mine.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
LL:)
Eta: why is almond milk so popular? Is there an advantage to using it on SW?Start BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.30 -
Back again, this time on my laptop as I haven't figured out how to add links on the iPad!
There's a thread full of SW recipes that dates back to 2006 so not all of them are still SW friendly link here.
JPScloud - there are recipes for cakes including a Weetabix cake if that's of any interest and the SW version of Ferrero rocher using scanbran is here.

Well done to gbatey, gingababe and shortie.
b-e-g, thanks for the positive vibes. Today is a new day.
Hi, barneydee.
Hope you don’t have long to wait to hear of the new baby, fluff.
Today’s outline
Breakfast: ML mandarin yogurt and raspberries
Lunch: hexb wholemeal roll with 1 square sliced steak sausage (3 syns) and onion (fried in fry light)
Dinner: tuna pasta, salad, pears (cooked somehow – they’re hard as bricks! – any ideas?)
Have a good day.
You do know 'There's NO such thing as a Gruffalo' don't you? :rotfl:Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Thanks Lord duke I will try with the milk.
When I have used it before it separates and spoils. Also my son uses it and he says that he has tried all ways. Anyway I will shake it first and see what happens, thanks x:T:T:T
Wiz - could it be that you're putting the milk in when the tea is boiling hot? let it cool a little and try it... I have no idea if that will work but I know the quark I use always splits at high temperatures..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Good Morning
Deep snow out and foggy
Got to go mums today like I do every Saturday Sunday.
Stay safe tweets
b_e_gNo rejoicing for me today I STS. Probably Crimbo and New Year catching me up although it doesn't take much.
I will have to stick hard at it and just have the minimum amount of Syns:D
I hope everyone else does well :T For all the losers:):) For STS and gainers. X
I think a lot of us are finding that Christmas and New Year are still catching up with us wiz. When I cut my syns right down or found I just wasn't using them my weight losses were minimal but you will know how your body works. Good luck for a nice loss next week.
Good luck for tomorrow's wi fluff.
With the Blue Diamond unsweetened Almond Milk Lois you are allowed 875mls for a hex a on EE which works out at a fair amount. So for any recipes which require a lot of milk this may be a good alternative. It is probably good for people with food intolerances too. Different makes of Almond Milk have varying amounts for hexs but I think the BD has the higher amounts. Hth.
Good luck with your quest to make a scan bran cake jps. We made a scan bran chocolate once and it was an experience not to be repeated. There are lots of recipes out there and people do enjoy them - so if you find one that works - don't forgot to send us all a slice. I remember the olden days too when corned beef used to be free on red days.
On the subject of scan bran, I find that it is not something I can eat as a cracker but used crunched up makes a good crispy coating on the SW scotch eggs. You could probably serve them to people and they wouldn't normally associate them as being something that was particularly SW friendly.
Today's brekkie has been some overnight oats (less than half portion as it makes loads so will have the rest tonight). Lunch is half a plate of egg fried rice with chicken and half plate salady stuff. Dinner tonight might be some form of macaroni cheese (I keep fancying that) and then supper will be rest of overnight oats. That will be my hexb sorted in the oats so will have to work out the hexa and some syns of course.

Hi dee
BEG - don't you hate food strops.. I don't even know why I do itpoor families that have to put up with us!
Coutingpennies - it was Pizza Hut you worked at wasn't it? do you ever see any of your SW class members in there? i bet they're mortified when you see them :rotfl: it would put me off visiting or ordering salad instead of pizza so well done on helping them all lose weight:T
Lois - i think you can have a lot of Almond milk for a hea instead of normal milk..
I woke up this morning to the squirrel family in the garden, along with the blackbirds and blue tits.. how can that not put a smile on your face first thing (or about 11am it was)
So i'm in a more positive frame of mind this morning.. back on it, I've been reading some weight loss blogs and getting a bit more motivated! :j (it may only last for today though :rotfl:)
Menu today - green day
Brunch - 2 LM sausages, egg, toast (hea) 1 hash brown (1.5) sauce (2)
Tea - BNS and sweet pot lasagne, salad, pickles
Snacks - 2 x alpen (heb) crisps (5) milk & cheese (2 x hea)
I did something i don't normally do today, i threw away some of my food from brunch  the hash browns weren't as nice as i remembered so it wasn't worth wasting 4.5 syns so i stopped myself from eating them and threw them away!
For someone who has to eat everything put in front of me that is a big step (i'm not condoning wasting food by the way but better it's in the bin than on my hips/thighs/*rse)
Off to make the lasagne for tea.. i always find it tastes nicer when it's re-heated..
Have a good day losers:D

Hi and welcome, I agree you cant outrun a bad diet but you can play catch up :rotfl:
Love it, that's what I do all the time!!:rotfl:No rejoicing for me today I STS. Probably Crimbo and New Year catching me up although it doesn't take much.

:T that's a shame but you know it's better than gaining!! Many congratulations to all the losers and there are lots of you.:DHi I am a soup addict and my favourite is. Lentil and Veg. It's so simple to make.

I always microwave my onions with tbsp. of water to soften them whether I'm frying/using in soup/casserole etc. It saves time waiting for them to soften. As I always make a lot of soup and freeze it I'd suggest making this with the chickpeas but without the potatoes then it's an EESP meal in itself.
b.e.g., I've only managed one full day of EESP as I'm only experimenting with it but I've had lots of SP meals. You're right it's diluting the effect but I'm sure it's better than full EE. What it's doing for me is making me more mindful of whether I need carbs and/or how many each day. I'm enjoying the challenge of making satisfying meals without them when I can.
My plan changed yesterday. DH and I went to the pub again and our team won again!!:j He then insisted that we eat there to save me cooking (little did he know he was going to get a microwaved YS curry;)). So I compromised and didn't have the angelic meal I had last week but steak, salad and chips. So could have been lots worse.
Must share a NSV. Went to M&S yesterday (to collect new knickers:D) and browsed their sale. I got myself a lovely dress for a wedding I'm going to next month and it's a size 8! Now I know it's vanity sizing or just M&S nonsense but wow did I feel good. It's probably a generous size 10 really. Then I met a SW friend as I was going to the checkout and just had to show her the label. She was chuffed for me too.
Dress is almost exactly like this but mine's purple and I paid less than half price.

Afternoon all:hello:
Hope everyone's day is going well? Am getting back into the EESP frame of mind so having to think things through as I go. Plan so far:
B: cereal (HEB1) and milk (HEA)
L: sw kebab meat and roasted veg leftovers with wholemeal toast (HEB 2) and beansroast chicken with veg (no roasties)
Syns to be decided. Am out tonight so may look for some low syn easy picky ideas to take with me
I would normally take grapes but they're off plan for EESP. May take an apple and satsuma instead but will look for some cheeky treats insteadApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
