GoneSouth can I ask you a question please ?
Did you just throw the red lentils in soup or cook lentils first ?
When I made soup last week I threw lentils in and the seem to vanish didn't swell like I thought lentils did.
So night after I cooked lentils first for second half of soup. Did what packet said was sat here waiting for them to be ready and smelt burning  When I went into kitchen lentils where black in pan with no water:rotfl::rotfl: Luckily I managed to get my pan clean :T:T
I have never cooked with lentils before
Hello Tweets!
I just put it all in together with the chopped up veg and spices, and simmered for about 20/25 minutes. The red lentils did break down, I usually whizz my soup up with a stick blender so it's smooth as I prefer it like that. I get soup recipe inspiration from the bbc G@@D F@@D site, sorry I don't know how to do links! I don't usually follow the recipes exactly as I often need to use stuff up from the fridge, but it's useful for quantities of stock/veg etc.
Hope this helps, it's such a pain when recipes don't work out! Sorry about your pan!
Best wishes. X0 -

DH usually says that I could use milk chocolate as part of my hexa milk allowance but I have tried to tell him that things don't work like that unfortunately - if only they did.

I've not been able to post, so I'm late with my weigh in result from last week-
3.5 pounds lost
. I'm very pleased with this, just 1 pound more for my 2.5 stones certificate.
I did lots more exercise than I usually would, second week of using the fit log, looks like this is working for me so far. Well done to everyone else too.
I wash the red lentils thoroughly before chucking them in soup, as otherwise you can sometimes get a bit of a foam on top.0 -
Afternoon All,
My goodness, it's flippin' cold here! I felt compelled to do the ironing mountain to warm me up, all done now.
I made some soup this morning, seems like the right weather to have it. I used carrots, red lentils, and a handful of wrinkly potatoes, tasted quite lively, there was chilli and cumin in too. Even husband said it was nice, and he's not fond of carrot.
Well done to everyone on some fab losses this week, you're all very inspiring! Keep the faith, all the STSs and don't give up to anyone who has gained. These are temporary glitches and we'll all be wafting around in a slender, glam fashion by summer!
I managed a 1lb loss this week, I could do better, but I confess I'm only following the plan in a loose sort of fashion, I'm calling choc w@@tabix a HEX when it's 8 syns, I'll be able to get away with it for a while I expect, as I've so much to lose, but I'll have to play by the rules soon if I want to keep losing weight.
Have a good weekend all, stay safe and warm X
I'm sure Ive seen people on here using choc weetabix as HEBs plus a couple of syns so at least you would be counting some syns. I shouldn't think theres 8syns of chocolate in them, mostly just weetabix so therefore a HEB plus 2Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
Keep the Faith All

Thank you for your help. I will just throw the lentils in next time.
My pan is ok I am still using it0 -
I thought 1 1/2 choc weetabix were a HE b same as the banana ones. I'll check the updated list. Brb0

:DYes, I just checked the list of "latest healthy extras" and 1&1/2 chocolate or banana weetabix are 1 HE b. So either break one in half or count 2 syns for the ther half. Problem solved.:T:D0

Currently on week 3 and had a bold weekend this week, going to WI tomorrow morning so I can assess the damage of this weekend! My only saving grace is I didn't have any alcohol so trying to take everything with a pinch of salt!
I'm trying to work out 3 times a week as well, but as they say, you can't outrun a bad diet!!
Hi and welcome, I agree you cant outrun a bad diet but you can play catch up :rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -
