    :T for all today's losses.

Aw, thanks, lantanna, I’m back to perkiness; don’t know what it was all about. What have they done to crème eggs? Actually I don’t like them – too sweet, but I’m nosey.

I always have trouble making SW chips, b-e-g. McCains Rustic Chips aren’t too bad syn wise - and are ready when they’re supposed to be!

Best thing I ever did, clothes wise, was to get a proper bra fitting done; regret waiting until after I had the mastectomy. After I have a fitting (I’ve had to be redone after losing weight, even although it’s not a lot) I search online for the same make/model and I can usually find it a bit cheaper. Even although bras are the same size, they don’t necessarily fit – like any other clothes.

    .

This is what they're doing to Crème Eggs:

I find that SW chips need a hotter oven than most things you'd want to cook with them. Certainly not as simple as the recipes say. I tend to put them in for much longer and hope for the best. Rustic chips are good but tend to be very expensive. 5% fat, straight cut oven chips are almost as low syn and often cheaper/on offer.

Now I know my size I look regularly in TK Maxx but always have to try them on. Brands vary so much even in the same size.

Feeling a bit better tonight. I did manage my weekend wine syns so must be on the mend.;)
  • Hide in my own little world for 2 days and i have LOADS to catch up on!! We have been busy in here haven't we?? ;)

Huge well done to LOUIS LANE, CHAPLIN, LUSHLIFESAVER, on those losses. I get the feeling i forgot another 2 but scrolling back through the pages I can't work it out (my head is bad). Sorry if i missed you out, your all stars

Still having a rubbish time. Couple of personal problems along with not so good health again had knocked me all to pot. Think I may go to the doctors tomorrow. Was hoping to not have to have antibiotics but I really can't breathe too good. My immune system is just failing all the time and getting me really down.

SW has gone out the window for the 3rd day. Never ended up meeting my friend as planned yesterday as middle child got sent home from school with the bug I had last week.

Planning on getting back on it tomorrow, or trying to anyway. I'll be honest and tell you I have made NO effort the last 3 days. I know i'm only letting myself down, but life gets like that sometimes.

Shala, hope you had a better day today.

    Hope everyone else is well.

  • Hi everyone, not kept up with the thread at all this week (must try harder!) am still trying to make all these new ways into proper habits. I've stuck to plan and been doing more exercise and can report a 1lb loss. Hoped for better as it's only week 2 but I know it's going to take time

I really need to.. Went to a local bra shop that size you without using a tape.. They only had one bra in that I liked which was a hefty £38!! Near fainted but felt I had to buy something.. It's like wearing a straight jacket and so uncomfortable.. Think I'll try M+S or Debs to see what size they say I am!

Hee hee.. I'm not quite as bad but they do need hoisting back up a bit :rotfl:

I've had quite a few from Debs over the years mich. I think the first one I got from them quite a few years ago was a Fanstsie moulded (I thought it looked ridiculous off but wow on ;)). It was full price and I am pretty sure it was nearing the £40. I had intended to buy two at the time but £80 was stretching the budget a bit too far and the sad thing is that particular style has been discontinued which is what usually happens. Good luck in your search.

    Evening all,

Astonished that I am reporting a 1lb loss for this week!

    Well done lush :T

TIE, I miss my bath too. Our shower broke and it rather than just replace it, we decided to prepare for the time when I wouldn't be able to get out without help (DH just used the shower anyway)and replace the bath with a walk in shower. I even tried lying down in the shower tray once (it's bath sized) to see if I could get a near-bath experience, but, of course, that was just plain daft!

I'll give that one a miss then greentiger :p:rotfl:

We are ususally quite successful with the SW chips and wedges but last night they just didn't seem to work that well :(. DH said it was probably a combination of overcrowded tray, timings and type of potatoes. We use a wire mesh tray - I think it was about £1.50 from HB and it usually works a treat. The tray looks a bit naff but it does work.

Right off to read a few more posts.

Thanks for the chips comment maman. Like I said we don't normally have too much bother with them as DH has pretty much perfected the technique ;) but I think he was probably trying to stop my fish from being overcooked and he didn't want to chance 'earache' from me :rotfl:. It would be worth having a bag of the 5% fat chips in for emergencies but our freezer space is at a bit of a premium.

Must look in TXMaxx when I am in need for more bra supplies. We have a new store quite local to us now. Do they do bigger cup sizes - the around is going down but the frontage is still Ginormous  :rotfl:

Sorry to hear that you are having a terrible time CP. Might be worth going to dr to get checked out. Problems may be hampering your SW efforts. Go and get yourself sorted soon. Take care of yourself. x

When we came home last night around 10 the snow was coming down like billyo and I was dreading looking out of the window this morning but thankfully it isn't too bad.

    Morning all

Well done to everyone winning the battle against the bulge!

On the subject of bra fitting, the usual method is for the fitter to measure you and then tell you what size to go for, but it's actually more complicated than that. A good fitter will find different styles and sizes of bra for you to try and then advise you on the best style for your shape as well as the best size.

I bought some bras in Primark (yes, they're in Spain too! :D) and as they didn't have my size I went for one size smaller with the same cup size and some bra extenders to increase the size around, but they don't fit. They were only €4 in the sale so I'll keep them as they may fit when I've lost more weight.

Have a good day everyone, stay safe if you've got snow or ice.

Morning, woke up with a headache which did not respond to painkillers. Think it may have been low blood sugar as it is now easing since I had breakfast.

    Menu:

B: Rice pops & Almond milk. Latte made with Almond milk.
L: Campfire stew & stir fried cabbage. Tea with milk.
D: 3 Veggie sausages, SW fried egg & beans. Tea with milk.

    S: 4 x DF chocolate, cocoa

Its a 1lb LOSS this week SHALA Was hoping for a little more but at least its going in the right direction again.

May be going mattress(replacing 16yr old one) shopping today. We went last week and tried out a few but then decided to leave it a week to decide. We are going to try phoning in our order but if can't then will have to make the trip to the shop. Also got a birthday cake to make, which I will decorate on Monday whilst DS is at college.

Well done on your loss mim. You must have made a vat of that campfire stew but it seems to be working!

I'm feeling much brighter today, but did succumb to chocolate last night as I needed comforting.:(

I use one of those mesh trays from the £ shop on top of a baking tray so that they don't stick. 'Real' chips are just a stand by, mainly for DH when he's cooking something for himself when I'm out.

LL is right that just because a bra is a certain size it won't necessarily fit. You need to try on. TKMaxx is very hit and miss. It's the sort of shop you need to have a look in regularly. Sometimes there'll be something worth trying other times nothing at all.

Sally, you're obviously very busy but if you want any help coming to terms with the plan just ask. Maybe post some menus?

Not sure of my menu for today. I've had SW breakfast (baked beans), plenty of options for lunch but may eat out tonight. If not, tempted to have synful supper of curry from supermarket and maybe chips and samosas. I need the freezer space.;)
