after having put over a stone on in the past year, i have decided to give slimming world a go.
A- because you dont have to go out and buy over priced food like other plans, you can eat normal home cooked food
B- some friends at work are doing the plan and say it is easy to follow and after just 2 weeks have lost weight.
However, i'm tight and dont want to pay a fee each week to get weighed.
so can any one give me or tell me where to find the basics of the plan please.
You could look on EBay for a SW pack and go it alone.0 -
Lois - it's 6 weeks of the challenge left - you'll easily do it
So it is, that makes me feel a bit better thanks. It's doable, and if I introduce some EESP days it might help.
Thanks everyone for your positive comments, I thought I'd been really strict this week and stuck to plan so I expected a better result, but I'll keep going and hope my efforts this week will pay off at next week's weigh in.
On a positive note, I'm still ahead of DH and he's only just lost his Christmas gain(see - feeling better already!)

That's really good advice SW are offering half price membership through out January, II would also suggest buying slimming magazine or see if any of your friends at work hae copies they don't want anymore.
edited to say there is a free7 day plan here

Hi, I started slimming world on the 6th so had my first weigh in on Tuesday with a 3 and a half pound lose : )0

I'd wait until you get to 13 stone jock (as a sort of interim target) and then see how you feel. Sometimes it's clothes size rather than the numbers that help you decide. What size would you like to be?
I'm a man so don't really think in dress sizes. I'm noticeably slimmer on my legs, and whilst I clearly have less of a belly, I still have one. So I'll just plod on, 12st 7lb would be a BMI of 22.5, my BMI is currently 24.6 but I want to have some leeway into it as I'm tired of going to my Doctor to be told to lose some weight.
I think there is definitely another 10lb of fat to go though.
I don't like to critique what people eat on our facebook group, but it's obvious a fair few don't seem to get the third of a plate thing. They seem to think it's a third as high as you can pile for chips, but not for protein or superfree.
If I have a chicken breast, i make sure I have a similar sized portion of free and a similar sized portion of superfree.
That being said I'm having sausages and using syns, getting a bit tired of eating 13 syns of chocolate a day.0 -
In the last 24 hours two people have commented that i look like a lost weight and they're both people who don't know I'm on a diet
I know it might be a bit shallow, but it's really cheered me up after a busy, stressful week!
Anway, here's today's menu:
Breakfast - Two weetabix (HEB), banana, semi skimemd milk (HEA)
Lunch - Leftover chicken, chorizo and vegatable jambalaya (2 syns)
Dinner - Ginger pork, veg and rice noodle stir fry wrapped in iceberg lettuce leaves (2 syns)
Snacks - Plums, satsuma, Mullerlight
I'm also currently battling with the urge to go out and get drunk tonight. I know it might impact my weightloss, plus I'm pretty skint but I really reaaaaaallllly feel like it!0 -
[/FONT]Blueeyedgirl - Might pick up a melon after the gym then when I go to lidl for a 29 p cucumber:cool: lol I’m having an options hot chocolate treat tonight after the gym.:rotfl: I know how to live!!!
You've just reminded me that I should have picked up a bloomin cucumber when I was in Lidl. Oh well hopefully I will remember tomorrow as I was popping in to check out some lean diced beef they are getting at half price.
Oh and just for the record I have started with the fleabay stuff - 3 items of clothing and a couple of bits of cross stitch
Welcome to the gang chaplin and well done on your loss :T
You are getting there jock - I'm sure it won't be too long for you now that you are back in the zone. How can anyone get fed up of eating chocolate syns  - no seriously I know what you mean - at times you do just want something different.
Right off now to get photographing.

Maybe it would be the waistband of your trousers that could guide you, especially if you have a bit of a belly to lose. I know my DH is delighted when he has to tighten his belt (that's literally not metaphorically).
I often feel very bossy commenting on what people eat but we all come on here for support or ideas so I just try to be as tactful as possible. I know what you mean about the 'thirds'. I've never understood how snacking on free food between meals can work as, to me, it wrecks the proportions of the P,S and free foods. Fortunately I'm not a snacker but I always look at the proportion across the day.In the last 24 hours two people have commented that i look like a lost weight and they're both people who don't know I'm on a dietI know it might be a bit shallow, but it's really cheered me up after a busy, stressful week!

I didn't tell anyone (except DH) that I was doing SW until people started commenting on my weightloss. As some were worried that I was ill, I told them it was deliberate and healthy eating and eventually told a few it was SW. Now I tell everyone.:D
While I don't get drunk (well not very drunk) I always save my syns for weekends for wine. You could always try to play catch up with the syns but beware of a loss of willpower and don't end up at the kebab van!!
I managed a bit of lunch. Incredibly I had a small omelette with the one egg left in fridge! I found mushrooms, pepper, spring onions and tomato to fry and made a veggie omelette. Just a small pan (7/8 ins) and I put some cheese on top as we've been having skimmed milk the past few days (an experiment I won't repeat) so I reckoned I could call it part HEA.

Tweets you were on about NAS drinks I mentioned vimto.;)
Maman you could try a can but I am not sure if it tastes the same as a bottle of the cordial it lasts ages and if you have a B&Ms store where you live they are a lot cheaper. :cool:0
