Good morning, I was hoping I could join you all, I did go to SW for a while but stopped back in August as was finding the time hard with the kids activities but have now found a day time class so I will be re joining on Tuesday : ) I am quite excited about it but reading about the new plan is confusing me a bit so I think I will follow the normal EE is that ok?
I was planning on a online shop for Monday delivery as my local Tesco is not very good stocking the lean mince so do you think planning from the old plan would be ok?

Hi. Well the Christmas gain is........ 1/2lb on.
Not too bad really, hope it doesn't come back to bite me on the bum next week.
I quite like the sound of the SP plan and can see the sense in it but I think a couple of days and I'll be craving carbs big time. I will give it a go though as I really need to shift some timber.
Tonight we are having a bash and I have done a massive pulled pork a la Sw. I'm also shredding some cabbage, carrot and onion and leaving out the Mayo/ salad cream so folk can add how much they want. I also have some baby potatoes that I'm doing as mini jackets so apart from the booze I should be on plan.
I intend to shop on Friday after I've done a bit of meal planning And then I shall be going for it.
Happy new year everyone xx0 -
Morning all
Well it's actually afternoon here, but still morning in the UK!
Been getting stuck into the end of year catch up on housework - that's something my Mum always did and its stuck. It's probably superstitious nonsense, but she believed the new year had to start with a clean house (in my case caravan), all washing and ironing done and a celebration dinner planned for the 1st.chaplin1409 wrote: »I am quite excited about it but reading about the new plan is confusing me a bit so I think I will follow the normal EE is that ok?

Hi Michaela, welcome to the thread.
In my experience SW consultants won't question how you lose weight as long as you are losing. When I attended class we used to count how many times the consultant used the words "if it works for you, that's ok". If you find your weightloss stalls, they will ask you to fill in a food diary and hand it in, and then point out things you could change. They won't tell you what to do or tell you off - they don't want people to stop going to their class!
The new plan does sound a bit confusing but thanks for your take on it Jock, it'll be interesting to see how you get on.
I'm not looking forward to weighing in on Friday, I keep convincing myself I haven't done too much damage, but then I remember some of the naughties that I've given into over the last week and a bit. I may be with you Jellybaby and drawing a line in the sand, but like the thread title says, New Year, new you - Friday will be Day One of new year resolve and there may be some days on the new plan to speed things up.
Welcome to all the new people, there's lots of knowledge and experience amongst the regulars on the thread so feel free to ask questions and share your successes and problems.
We're out tonight, we'll see in the New Year twice - once at 12 for Spain and then again at 1 for the UK. The Spanish have a tradition to eat 12 grapes, putting one in your mouth for every ring of the bell so you end up with 12 all at once. They also have an interesting tradition which is to wear red underwear, preferably some that has been given as a gift, but I don't possess any so I won't be doing that!
We'll need to wrap up warm too - we may spend some time on the beach and last night the temperature here was -2!
Have a good night whatever you do.

Been to weigh in and received new pack - consultant gave us a quick run through the book - the full talk next week. Have sat and read through and it seems to me that SW have streamlined the diet by scrapping the many varied food plans in favour of EE and given people an option for faster weight loss. This is less confusing for me and I like that the free foods and symbols have been simplified and the new recipe / idea booklet. Feeling more positive nowSo you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.0

Afternoon all, I'm having an off-plan day today (so much for my earlier optimism for this week!) but with some major changes to my usual off plan behaviour - I avoided buying crisps during my last shop of 2014 this morning, for one thing. If you know me, you would know what a big deal that is. I'm counting that as a major victory!
I'm also still including fruit and vegetables, regardless of how outrageous my other choices might be today - again this is such a big deal for someone who counted not taking the gherkin off my quarterpounder as 'eating my greens'.
Wishing everyone a lovely New Year's Eve, whatever your plans. Mine will include TV, log fire, food and loafing aboutI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hi
Let me introduce myself, I am an ex target member who has slid back into her old ways and been eating far too many, quick, convenient foods and consequently is almost back where she started.
Have re-joined today and my first mini target is to get back to being 10st something rather than 11.
I have 5lbs to lose to achieve this. I would like to think that if I can focus on the new SP plan for remainder of week after tomorrow (big family meal) that this could happen in two weeks!
Will check in each Wednesday after weigh in!
Now to digest new SP plan and prepare shopping list!0 -
Our consultant didn't explain the SP plan very well so had a quick look at the website this morning and think I'll give it a go. I'm with you, Jock, can't quite get my head round the Mullerlight dilemma.
The thing about yogurt etc is that it's free food (and always has been) and on the Extra Easy SP you should only eat Speed food and Protein. So it's a plan made up of the S list of fruit and veg and the P lists of protein (meat, fish, pulses, eggs etc) 50:50 and nothing else with it but HEXs and syns.
While it's technically true that Extra Easy hasn't changed, what can count as your one third of SFs (now S) has changed as a number of fruits are off the list and are simply free foods.Morning all

I think my mum must have had a far more relaxed approach to housework LL. The tradition she passed on was that you must never do any washing on New Year's Day and I'm glad to stick with that!;) Have put a load on today though otherwise I might not have any clean underwear, red or otherwise!:D Have a lovely evening.
Although an off plan meal tonight, I'm sticking with it through the day. Bacon and beans for breakfast with the usual NAS Ribena, I'm going to fry up some veg for lunch maybe with some fish and/or pickles.
My DH had an antibiotic too shala as his cold was worse than mine too. Strange that?;)0 -
Just popped back to apologise for dreadfully bad manners.:o
:hello:A big welcome to all our new members. Great to have you on board and really looking forward to helping each other on the way to a slim and healthy 2015!0 -

My family traditions are also relaxed. Although I do love everything clean and tidy... it is a rare thing indeed! In accordance with ancient tradition, I shoved things into neater piles and hoovered a bitI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Work done until Monday so no more Christmas temptations to avoid!
Slim pickings in Aldi for veg.. Had to go to the local co-op to get extras.. Struck lucky tho, lots of reduced stuff in so was a blessing in disguise
