Thanks maman, my WI is on Saturdays so we were walked through it Saturday just gone. Personally I don't think that the SP is for me so I'm sticking with EE at the mo xx

I've had a look through the plan online and sorry for being negative but I don't like the look of it - for a boost you could cut the carbs on the EE without a new plan or do a few red days. Looking closely it's quite restrictive - not suitable for diabetics and reverts back to the old days of using veg as carbs and faffing about spiralling veg - really? No carbs and am I right in thinking yogurts are no longer free? For me it takes the easy out of extra easy

On a positive note if you have an old books with red and green syn values they will be worth a few bob on ebay.

Getting my pack tomorrow but from I have read on here, minimins and the SW website, I agree that I will prob stick to EE, maybe try a day or two here and there on EEsp like I did a red day.

I have struggled with diets for 30 years and the weird fads, not allowed this, cut out that. I can't do it anymore. If that means slower losses, so be it, at least I feel I can sustain this way of eating forever. I have 11 stone to lose so it will need to be sustainable for me.

No doubt everyone will be sooo excited at group and will see any comment as a negative so will keep my mouth firmly shut. That is why I love you guys here, we can talk about it, feel free to express how we feel without being judged :j and then decide what is best for ourselves, iykwIm?

Yogurts are still there under free foods so no problem and Muller Lights are still free/low syn if you like those.

The_cat..the normal Extra Easy plan hasn't changed, it's still the main plan for SW

The new bit they've added is Extra Easy SP.. It's not compulsory to follow, it's optional if you want to. It would be like the old Success Express we used to do back in the day if we got stuck.

All that's really changed is that some of the fruits you might have had for your third of SFs (now Speed) have been removed from the list and are now just free food. I've checked the veg list and that's not really changed except a few obscure things have disappeared AND you'll be delighted to know that sprouts are now speed food when they weren't SF before!!:rotfl:

You can have free foods, inc carbs on SP.. Just says to fully power up your weight loss stick to S + P choices :)

I think that it's like a spectrum with the highest potential weightloss on EE SP which is just 50:50 Speed and Protein going down to the usual EE with one third Speed foods and the rest free. If you did somewhere in between (like adding a few potatoes to a mostly high SP meal) then it would still be good for weightloss.

EE SP is not intended for everyday use but I think they are pushing it for a week so everyone raves about it! I've always piled on the SFs when I need to lose so I'll give it a whirl one day next week when I've done a shop.

    I had a good EE day today until I had 3 chocolates.:o

B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
    L: bacon, egg, mushrooms
D: sausage (2 syns), mash, carrots, onions, cabbage, peas
    Syns: squirt of syrup, gravy

I am going to stick with what I have been doing so a pound a week is ok by me as this time I want to keep it of.

I'm the same, always pile on the SF's and add extra veg to curry, chilli, stews where I can.. I'm going to take my usual relaxed approach to SP, not eating a spud won't really bother me but not going to deprive myself if I fancy one either.. Can still get a carb fix with bread etc for the 2 heb choices ;)

Good luck with WI barneydee :)
  • +4lbs for me this week, first ever weight gain.

I've volunteered to try the new EESP diet for the group to show the results. A few thoughts for us all and to debunk a few myths.

    1. EE hasn't changed at all, they've reclassified things as Superfree and Protein and dumped the other symbols, nothing has changed and you can still do this plan.
    2. If you think EE has changed, I'd suggest going back and reading the old EE book.

    The new SP plan

Basically the idea is if you want a bit of a boost, it recommends doing it for no more than a week or incorporating a couple of SP days into your normal EE week.

The idea is you eat only foods which are Superfree or Protein, you also get a HEA and 2xHEB and your syns as normal.

It's for people who want to lose weight faster, so yes, you cannot eat yoghurt, pasta, potatoes, grapes, kumkwats, etc.

The confusing bit for me is that not only can't you eat a mullerlight, but you can't syn it either (as it'll show as no syns) so a bit confusing. But I'll get there.

The theory is that you can follow EE and lose weight, however if you're eating 5 mullerlights, a load of grapes, some pasta and a jacket potato, you will lose less weight than someone who eats none of those things.

I'm giving the SP diet a go from tomorrow, I'll post here what I'll be eating if I remember and also my weight loss each day (if any) from my own scales.

I've also heard rumours that the Iceland Ready Meals are already in store before their formal launch on 16 Jan, this is in Warrington branch.

I think that's were the confusion lies.. All the literature says you can still have them as an occasional free food on SP.. But.. to fully boost your loss to stick to the S & P choices :p

Good luck with it jock ;)

Morning lovelies, waving as I waddle in! Missed class the last four or five weeks, went last night and :eek::eek: is all I'm saying. Back to square one so very big, thick line drawn and I'm back with a vengeance:D

Our consultant didn't explain the SP plan very well so had a quick look at the website this morning and think I'll give it a go. I'm with you, Jock, can't quite get my head round the Mullerlight dilemma. Feeling so bloated and sluggish think the less carbs I eat just now the better too so we'll see what next week brings.

Been missing my NAS Ribena so three large bottles snapped up at Farmfoods this morning.

We're going out for dinner tomorrow and to a 'wee party' (is there such a thing in Scotland haha) after so will probably not start meal planning and being full on until Saturday. Full of motivation and enthusiasm though:T

Will try and get on over the holidays but just in case wishing you all health, wealth and happiness in 2015. Take care all x
