Remembered to weigh this morning and it's a loss! 162.9lb

Cake looks BRILL Shrimpy! :T May I have one for my birthday?!?!

haras- I have no idea how someone could lose 6st in 6 weeks?! I can only think that the guy had a LOT to lose and was eating 12000 calories a day then started eating very little so the weight fell off?! It would be interesting to see if it stays off.
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Does sound a bit drastic, Haras, even if he started around 25 stone based on his % loss (forgive me if maths a bit dodgy, it's still early lol!) Can't help wondering if he'll just end up piling it back on in the end?

Well done on your 17lb loss, by the way, that's amazing - and sounds far more sustainable...

If nearly 6 stone is 23% of his weight he must have started at circa 24stone

Sorry - I've been MIA Shrimpy!!!

I am weighing in at 137lbs

Think it's a loss but can't remember! I am rubbish at sticking to this healthy eating malarky.

Is anyone doing the 5:2? How are they finding it?

CMD - I make this a 1lb gain (sorry) but a 2lb loss overall since you started :)

Ok can I join in please?

I am 182 lbs and I want to aim for 2 lb a week. Is this do-able? X

Hi Jagraf, you are welcome to join. I will add you in this week, then if you post your losses on a Wed going forward. I think 1-2lbs a week is recommended so your aim sounds very doable :)

Congratulations Birdie, great loss this week! :T

Well done to all challengers - harras_nosirrah you are definitely on track for your 10% next week :j Six stone in six weeks sounds pretty crazy to me, maybe he weighed in with concrete boots on in week one! Even on Biggest Loser you don't often see that kind of loss in six weeks and they are essentially losing weight as a full time job.

What are everyone's targets for this week? I would be happy with 2 lbs this week, would love 3lbs but have my sister's birthday this weekend which might hold me up. So many birthdays at the moment! I am on cake duty again this week but after this weekend I seriously need to get myself back to the gym - please feel free to interrogate and bully me regarding this!

  • Hi all, congratulations to all who lost weight and to those who stayed the same or gained a little, don't lose hope and don't let it make you pack it in.

6 stones in 6 weeks? Wow! Men tend to lose a lot at the start then slow down after a few weeks, especially when the starting weight is a bit high. I tend to think it's not a healthy way to lose weight. Slow and steady is healthier, in my opinion.

I should have had my weigh in at 9:30 this morning but after finishing my night shift at 7am, I tried to struggled to stay awake. Laid on the sofa and next thing I knew it was 11am, I overslept! So I headed to the bedroom for an uninterrupted sleep. Going to the evening meeting at 6:30, keeping my fingers crossed. I will let you know if it was a loss or a gain.

I will try to sneak in a few more winks in preparation for the next night shift.

Got weighed and lost 3 lbs this week, 6 1/2 lbs in 2 weeks since joining this group.

    21.5 lbs to target weight.

Thanks everyone for the support and encouragement. I'm have been yo yo dieting for the last 3 or 4 years but have not had this good weight loss in succession. I can only put it down to the discipline and self control when paired with money saving and debt-busting. Signing on to the MSE forum is the best decision forward. Looking forward to the next weigh in. I hope it will be success all round for everybody.

Hi everyone, sorry I didnt post on Wednesday but not much to report it was a STS for me, which I am pretty pleased with to be honest as it is TOTM.

I have no idea how 6 stone in 6 weeks is possible!! Even at that starting weight that seems impossible to me. OH was 26 stone 18 months ago and has so far lost 7 stone and I think he has done amazingly well. 6 stone in 6 weeks just sounds mad!!

    Woo well done Birdie!

I'm back from my ski holiday, was there 5 nights and ate 2 McDonalds & a Burger King as we kept getting distracted by apres ski fun and leaving it too late to eat. Drank a heck of a lot, had at least one hot chocolate a day, snacked continually on nuts and cereal bars on the slopes to keep energy up and lunch was usually wedges of brie & ham with baguettes eaten on the chairlift.

So all in all I am a little scared to weigh myself tomorrow! Feeling so exhausted and run down but it was an amazing holiday so well worth it :)

Randomly a friend shared an article which says Wed is the best weigh in day where your weight will fluctuate the least as it's a few days after the weekend when people tend to weigh more!
